The present paper focuses on the interaction between lexical-semantic information and affective prosody. The previous studies showed that the influence of lexical-semantic information on the affective evaluation of the prosody was relatively clear, but the influence of emotional prosody on the word evaluation remains still ambiguous. In the present, we explore whether affective prosody influence on the evaluation of affective meaning of a word and vice versa, using more ecological stimulus (sentences) than simple words. We asked participants to evaluate the emotional valence of the sentences which were recorded with affective prosody (negative, neutral, and positive) in Experiment 1 and the emotional valence of their prosodies in Experiment 2. The results showed that the emotional valence of prosody can influence on the emotional evaluation of sentences and vice versa. Interestingly, the positive prosody is likely to be more responsible to this interaction.

This paper describes procedures to model and synthesize emotional speech in a multimedia environment. At first, procedures to model the visual representation of emotional speech are proposed. To display the sequences of the images in synchronized form with speech, MSF(Multimedia Speech File) format is proposed and the display software is implemented. Then the emotional speech sinal is collected and analysed to obtain the prosodic characteristics of the emotional speech in limited domain. Multi-emotional sentences are spoken by actors. From the emotional speech signals, prosodic structures are compared in terms of the pseudo-syntactic structure. Based on the analyzed result, neutral speech is transformed into a specific emotinal state by modifying the prosodic structures.

Emotional style of multimedia art works are abstract content information. This study aims to explore emotional style transfer method and find the possible way of matching music with appropriate images in respect to emotional style. DCNNs (Deep Convolutional Neural Networks) can capture style and provide emotional style transfer iterative solution for affective image generation. Here, we learn the image emotion features via DCNNs and map the affective style on the other images. We set image emotion feature as the style target in this style transfer problem, and held experiments to handle affective image generation of eight emotion categories, including dignified, dreaming, sad, vigorous, soothing, exciting, joyous, and graceful. A user study was conducted to test the synesthesia emotional image style transfer result with ground truth user perception triggered by the music-image pairs' stimuli. The transferred affective image result for music-image emotional synesthesia perception was proved effective according to user study result.

The purpose of this study was to understand the influence of the level of social emotional competence of college students on their achievement emotion, life satisfaction, and academic achievement. To this end, a survey was conducted with 301 college students in the Busan and Gyeongnam areas of Korea in 2019. The students were divided into high, medium, and low levels according to social emotional competence. Then, on the basis of these divisions, their achievement emotion, life satisfaction, and academic achievement were compared with oneway ANOVA. The results indicated that students with high social emotional competence had higher average scores in positive achievement emotion: enthusiasm, hope, and pride; lower average scores in negative achievement emotion: anger, anxiety, shame, frustration, and boredom; and higher average scores in life satisfaction, and academic achievement compared to the group with middle and low social emotional competence. Based on the results, this article discusses considerations and recommendations for follow-on studies. It also highlights the need for social emotional competence education in Korea against the backdrop of intense pressure on students to perform well academically and a culture where emotion is not freely expressed.

We propose an emotional facial avatar that portrays the user's facial expressions with an emotional emphasis, while achieving visual and behavioral realism. This is achieved by unifying automatic analysis of facial expressions and animation of realistic 3D faces with details such as facial hair and hairstyles. To augment facial appearance according to the user's emotions, we use emotional templates representing typical emotions in an artistic way, which can be easily combined with the skin texture of the 3D face at runtime. Hence, our interface gives the user vision-based control over facial animation of the emotional avatar, easily changing its moods.

In this paper, we propose a framework that automatically suggests emotion using emotion analysis method based on facial expression change. We use Microsoft's Emotion API to calculate and analyze emotion values in facial expressions to recognize emotions that change over time. In this step, we use standard deviations based on peak analysis to measure and classify emotional changes. The difference between the classified emotion and the normal emotion is calculated, and the difference is used to recognize the emotion abnormality. We match user's emotions to relatively relaxed emotions using histograms and emotional meshes. As a result, we provide relaxed emotions to users through images. The proposed framework helps users to recognize emotional changes easily and to train their emotions through emotional relaxation.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between organizational culture(constructive and defensive culture) and emotional labor along with the social supports (supervisor support, colleague support). Using data obtained from a survey of 419 flight attendants of a major airline company in south Korea. The results are as follows: Organizational culture had a significant effect on emotional labor. At this point, colleague support mediated the relationship between constructive culture and emotional labor. In addition, supervisor support and colleague support had a mediating role between defensive culture and emotional labor. This result concludes that flight attendants positively accept the essential manuals and safety regulations in the special working condition with a unified team service. Furthermore, the results show that social supports are an important job resource for flight attendants helping them reach their work-related goals.

This study testifies the proposition that in the case of high emotional organizational commitment, through employees perform surface acting, they feel high personal accomplishment. Data was collected from 158 flight attendants of two airlines in Korea. From the hierarchical regression analysis, we could conclude such as follows. First, emotional organizational commitment has a positive effect on surface acting. It means that because employees with high emotional organizational commitment accept organizational goals as theirs, they are willing to perform surface acting. Second, surface acting has a positive effect on personal accomplishment. It means that surface acting has a "positive" side as well as negative one. Third, according to above results, organizations should try to take measures to increase the emotional organizational commitment of flight attendants.

Programming ability becomes an essential ability for elementary and secondary school students as well as computer science major students in modern information society. Thus, improving programming ability has long been a research project for computer scientists and teachers in IT areas. There have been many research works for improving programming ability in various ways. At first glance, emotional intelligence is generally known as humanistic intelligence, and nothing to do with computer areas. In the recent works, emotional intelligence has a correlation with various subjects. The purpose of this paper is to analyze correlation between emotional intelligence and programing ability. For this purpose, extensive survey works are carried out and statistical results are analyzed. Based on statistical analysis, it is concluded that there is a correlation between emotional intelligence and programming ability.

This study examines hypotheses that four personality traits(extroversion, emotional stability, openness to experience, and agreeableness) have effect on emotional exhaustion among flight attendants. Questionnaires were collected from 344 flight attendants working for two airlines in Korea. From the hierarchical regression analysis, this research could find out some results such as follows. First, extroversion, emotional stability, and agreeableness, with the exception of openness to experience, decrease the level of emotional exhaustion. Second, according to the results of these analyses organizations should consider employee's personality fitting to job in selection process.
