  • The object of this study was to survey the relationship between emotional self-support and the level of subjective health recognition of participators in the self support program. The health condition which is recognized subjectively by participators could affect the participation motive and the attitude to the program, and could be connected to the achievement of self-support. Therefore I tried to survey the implications and the relationship between emotional self-support and the level of subjective health recognition in terms of progress for the economic self-support. The objectives were self-support program participators in Wonju, and 127 questionaries were collected. The results of this study were as followings; First, there was the positive relationship between emotional self-support and the level of subjective health recognition. Second, the participation period in the self-support program affected emotional self-support and the level of subjective health recognition negatively, and the affects of the ages were meaningless. The suggestion of this study is that the level of emotional self-support and subjective health recognition could be developed if the emotional and psychological program is developed which makes the conditional pensioners perceive the living attitude and the thoughts to the works positively.

Methods: A survey of 70 questions was conducted targeting 310 dental hygiene students in Gyeonggi-do and Chungcheong-do. The results were subjected to exploratory factor analysis, frequency analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis using the PASW statistics 18.0 program. Results: The level of positive psychological capital was high when students had high grades and perceived positive relationships with professors and peers (p<0.001). Factors highly correlated with positive psychological capital include 'self-emotional regulation ability' among 'emotion regulation abilities' (r=0.665, p<0.001), and 'emotional support related to daily life' recognized 'social support' (r=0.635, p<0.001), followed by 'social support' (r=0.602, p<0.001). Factors affecting positive psychological capital include 'self-emotion recognized ability' (β=0.377, p<0.001), 'quality of professor relationship' (β=0.201, p<0.001), and 'emotion control ability'. Among 'social support', 'emotional support related to daily life' (β=0.201, p=0.003) and 'grades' (β=0.159, p<0.001), and among 'social support', 'social-related support' (β=0.149, p=0.016), followed by 'grade' (β=0.076, p=0.043) were identified. Conclusions: To improve the positive psychological capital of dental hygiene students, efforts should be made to improve self-emotion regulation ability, professor relationships, emotional support related to daily life, and social support.

Second, it also found a correlation between job center workers' emotional labor and psychological burnout, with higher emotional labor being more burnout. However, multiple regression analysis indicates that frequency of emotional display, attentiveness to required display rule, and emotional dissonance which are sub-factors of emotional labor have a negative influence on psychological burnout. Third, it found a correlation between job center workers' social support and psychological burnout, with higher social support being less burnout. Among sub-factors of social support, material support and evaluative support have a meaningful influence on psychological burnout statistically. • The main purpose of this research is to examine the relation of variables related to the worker's stress symptoms and coping. The influence of emotional support(from family, colleague, and boss), self-efficacy (self-regulatory, social, relational, resiliency, and management of work), job-satisfaction, and job-performance on worker's stress symptoms and coping is analyzed. Participants were 559 teachers (elementary 205, junior high 203, senior high 151; male 132, female 427). The results were as follows: There were no significant differences in stress symptoms and coping among primary, junior and senior high school teachers. On the other hand, there were significant differences in stress symptoms and coping between male and female teachers. Female teachers experienced more stress symptoms than male teachers. At the same time female teachers coped more efficiently in stress situation than male teachers. With emotional support, self-efficacy, job-performance and job-satisfaction as independent variables, the result of multiple regression showed that job-satisfaction has a negative influence on stress symptoms. Positive influences on stress coping was found for resiliency of self-efficacy in case of male teachers, and in case of female teachers resiliency of self-efficacy, emotional support from colleague, job-performance, and emotional support from family. Therefore, regardless of the gender of the teachers, high job-satisfaction decreased stress symptoms and high resiliency of self-efficacy increased efficient stress coping. As for female teachers, not only resiliency of self-efficacy but also emotional support from colleague and family, job-performance contributed to coping with stress.

The specific objectives of the study are: First, the effect factors of the empathy abilities (cognitive empathy, emotional empathy) of a service employee are largely classified as the social support (supervisor support, co-worker support) to the service employee and the self-soothing ability. Therefore, this study tries to verify the relationship between the self-soothing ability, and social support and empathy which are preceding factors of the empathy of a service employee. Second, it also tries to verify the relationship between job stress and empathy ability(cognitive empathy, emotional empathy) of a service employee. As a result of the verification of the study hypothesis, first, the social support was distinguished as supervisor support and co-worker support, and the empathy ability was distinguished as cognitive empathy and emotional empathy. As a result of verifying the relationship between social support and empathy ability, the supervisor support did not have a positive effect on cognitive empathy while the co-worker support did have a positive effect of cognitive empathy. The supervisor support had a positive effect on emotional empathy and the co-worker support had a positive effect on emotional empathy. Second, the self-soothing ability of a service employee had a positive effect on empathy ability and a positive effect on both cognitive empathy and emotional empathy. Finally, the empathy ability(cognitive empathy, emotional empathy) of a service employee was shown to have a negative effect on the job stress of a service employee.
