  • Organometallic polymers containing spirosilole unit have been interested, since spirosiloles has a unique optical and electronic properties. New functionalized spirosiloles (2,5-dibromo-3,4,6,7,8,9-hexaphenylspirosilole, DBHPSS) have been synthesized from the reduction of bis(1,1-phenylethynyl)-2,3,4,5-tetraphenylsilole with lithium naphthalenide for the possible applications in optics. DBHPSS has been characterized by $^1H$-NMR, fluorescence, and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Bis(phenylethynyl)tetraphenylsilole displays an emission maxima at 490 nm with an excitation wavelength of 380 nm. However, DBHPSS displays an emission maxima at 550 nm with an excitation wavelength of 420 nm.

  • In this paper we propose a wavelength-switchable fiber ring laser that employs a polarization-dependent fiber band stop filter. The fiber filter was fabricated by inscribing a long-period fiber grating on a high birefringent fiber. Dual-wavelength switching operation was accomplished by controlling the rotatable linear polarizer which rotated the polarization plane of the light circulating through the fiber laser cavity. The amplitude variation of both laser lines was measured to be less than 0.5 dB and the signal-to-amplified spontaneous emission ratio was more than 55 dB.

  • CaS:Pb thin film used as phosphor layer in electroluminescent devices were deposited by an atomic layer deposition (ALD). The photoluminescence emission and excitation spectra were measured at 5 and 300K for the $CaS:Pb^{2+}$ phosphors with different Pb concentration from 0.001 at.% to 0.648 at.%. The emission spectra of these samples were characterized as UV emission and blue emission with the center of peak around 360 and 425nm, respectively. The UV emission was dominant at the low $Pb^{2+}$ concentration of 0.001 at%, whereas with increase of Pb concentration, the blue emission became a major component and to longer wavelength.

  • $YAlO_3:Tb{_x}^{3+}$ has been synthesized by a combustion process and the concentration x of Tb was varied from 0.001 and 0.05 mol% per mole of $YAlO_3$. The emission optical properties on the $YAlO_3:Tb{_x}^{3+}$ have been investigated by time-resolved photoluminescence spectra and decay curves of center wavelength. The emission color changes from blue to green with increasing the $Tb^{3+}$ concentration from x= 0.001 to 0.05 mole fraction in $YAlO_3$ host. This emission color change can be explained in terms of cross-relaxation processes. Decay curves of emission intensity indicate that the type of energy transfer is donor-acceptor transition.

한반도 상공 고층대기의 중간 자외선 대기광 모델 (A MODEL FOR MUV AIRGLOW FROM THE UPPER ATOMOSPHERE ABOVE THE KOREAN PENINSULA)

  • For the planned experiments of Korea Sounding Rocket-III (KSR-III), we have constructed a model of MUV dayglow in the mid-latitude. The model computes relative intensities of individual emission lines in the Vegard-Kaplan and 2PG band systems of $N_2$ in the wavelength range of 2500-3500${\AA}$. In addition to the emission lines, solar scattered continuum was computed by an extended LOWTRAN7 code, in which we have included solar scattering in altitudes higher than 100 km by using MSIS90 thermosphere model. Ratios among vibrational bands of VK and 2PG system, were computed from the observed MUV dayglow spectra of Cleary et al. (1995). The model provides MUV dayglow intensitiy profiles with a wavelength resolution of 3.13${\AA}$ as a function of altitude. The computed intensity profiles have been utilized in designing the KSR-III airglow photometers.

  • 탄산칼슘을 모재로 한 형광체 제조를 위하여 비정질 탄산칼슘 전구체를 합성할 때 용액의 농도, 반응온도, 유지시간 및 모액의 pH의 영향을 조사함으로써 안정한 비정질 탄산칼슘을 합성할 수 있었으며, 물 속에 침적하여 결정화 조건을 달리하여 줌으로써 calcite, aragonite, vaterite의 결정 상을 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 활성원소로서 Sn을 첨가하여 비정질 탄산칼슘을 합성하고, 이를 결정화시켜 각 결정형에 따른 형광특성을 조사하였다. 결정형에 따른 발광강도는 calcite가 가장 우수하였으며, 발광중 심파장은 순수한 청색을 나타내는 464 nm였다. calcite의 발광강도는 여기파장 255 nm에서 최대가 되었으며, 형광램프용의 형광체로 사용하기 적합한 것으로 기대된다.

Actinometric Investigation of In-Situ Optical Emission Spectroscopy Data in SiO2 Plasma Etch

  • Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) is often used for real-time analysis of the plasma processes. OES has been suggested as a primary plasma process monitoring tool. It has the advantage of non-invasive in-situ monitoring capability but selecting the proper wavelengths for the analysis of OES data generally relies on empirically established methods. In this paper, we propose a practical method for the selection of OES wavelength peaks for the analysis of plasma etch process and this is done by investigating reactants and by-product gas species that reside in the plasma etch chamber. Wavelength selection criteria are based on the standard deviation and correlation coefficients. Moreover, chemical actinometry is employed for the normalization of the selected wavelengths. We also present the importance of chemical actinometry of OES data for quantitative analysis of plasma. Then, the suggested OES peak selection method is employed.. This method is used to find out the reason behind abnormal etching of PR erosion during a series of $SiO_2$ etch processes using the same recipe. From the experimental verification, we convinced that OES is not only capable for real-time detection of abnormal plasma process but it is also useful for the analysis of suspicious plasma behavior.

  • Cu-doped ZnSe quantum dots were successfully synthesized in an aqueous solution using an internal doping method. The effects of ligand type, CuSe synthesis temperature, and heating time on Cu-doped ZnSe synthesis were systematically investigated. Of MPA, GSH, TGA, and NAC used as ligands, MPA was the optimal ligand as determined by PL spectrum analysis. In addition, the emission wavelength was found to depend on the synthesis temperature of the internal doping core of CuSe. As the temperature increased, the doping of Cu2+ was enhanced, and the emission wavelength band was redshifted; accordingly, the emission peaks moved from blue to green (up to 550 nm). Thus, the synthesis of Cu:ZnSe using internal doping in aqueous solutions is a potential method for ecomanufacturing of color-tuned ZnSe quantum dots for display applications.

Silaspirotropylidene의 합성 및 광학적 특성 (Synthesis and Photoluminescent Properties of Silaspirotropylidene)

  • A silaspirotropylidene has been obtained from the reaction of the lithium salt of tetraphenylsilole dianion with 2 equiv of diphenylcyclopropene, followed by quenching with Me3SiCl. Silaspirotropylidene exhibits an unusual optical property its optical property was characterized by UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. Absorption wavelength maxima of silaspirotropylidene was 420 nm. silaspirotropylidene displayed an emission band at 550 nm with excitation wavelength of 420 nm.

  • Fault detection using optical emission spectra with modified K-means cluster analysis and principal component anal ysis are demonstrated for inductive coupl ed pl asma cl eaning processes. The optical emission spectra from optical emission spectroscopy (OES) are used for measurement. Furthermore, Principal component analysis and K-means cluster analysis algorithm is modified and applied to real-time detection and sensitivity enhancement for fluorocarbon cleaning processes. The proposed techniques show clear improvement of sensitivity and significant noise reduction when they are compared with single wavelength signals measured by OES. These techniques are expected to be applied to various plasma monitoring applications including fault detections as well as chamber cleaning endpoint detection.
