This study investigated the development of a fire alarm system with evacuation lighting and voice alarm functions. The performance of a fire detector and system with independently built-in evacuation lighting and voice alarm functions was confirmed for early recognition of fire and to allow visibility of the evacuation route in the event of fire. This new system satisfied model recognition and product testing technological standards with 1.62 lx average illumination, 89.7 dB average sound and 86.1 dB average voice. From additionally testing the evacuation performance of this new system, it was confirmed that the evacuation time decreased by 63.08% to 67.82% under the experimental conditions compared to conventional systems. The new system can minimize fire damage by setting off voice alarms to prevent failure of fire recognition and by flashing emergency lighting to secure the minimum required visibility range for evacuation. Therefore, it is considered that it will be utilized as a fire alarm system with appropriateness and usefulness by considering people with hearing or visual impairment.
In this study, a real-time fall detection system based on a smartphone equipped with three-axis accelerometer and magnetometer was proposed and evaluated. The proposed system provides a service that detects falls in real time, triggers alarm sound, and sends emergency SMS(Short Message Service) if the alarm is not deactivated within a predefined time. When both of the acceleration magnitude and angle displacement of the smartphone attached to waist belt are greater than predefined thresholds, it is detected as a fall. The proposed system was evaluated against activities of daily living(walking, jogging, sitting down, standing up, ascending stairs, and descending stairs) and unintended falls induced by a proprietary pneumatic-powered mattress. With the thresholds of acceleration magnitude 1.7g and angle displacement $80^{\circ}$, it showed 96.5% accuracy to detect the falls while all the activities of daily living were not detected as fall.

This paper describes the development of Emergency Generator Equipments Diagnosis System for monitoring generator equipments and battery system. This system is capable of measuring on up to 20 separate sites of generator, engine and periphral equipment's. Battery system also capable of measure the setting time, float and discharge voltage of up to 240 cells in a single installation, and has the memory capacity to store battery's alarm data information on up to 200 separate sites. This system are easy to maintain and attain cost effectively, so that prepared for meeting the customer's service needs immediately. The system is additionally programmed with a each model, that will enable to accurately determine the generator equipments and remain battery capacity in a system following a short discharge test. It is also equipped with remote interrogation and control facilities.
This paper resents digital controller of emergency power generator system. The controller offers an integrated alternative for Genset control, metering and remote monitoring. Proposed controller used 80c196kc one chip microprocessor for digital control, it measures parameters of generator and provides output signals to control starting and stopping of generator. Additionally protection and alarm functions are considered to system stability. As almost parts of controller are embedded by digital microprocessor and FPGA techniques, the controller has a more flexible feature and an improvement of precision. The developed system has a big merit economically and is suitable for any kW size generator.

The intelligent human-machine interface (HMI) has been developed to enhance the safety and availability of a nuclear power plant by improving operational reliability The key elements of the HMI are the large display panels which present synopsis of the plant status and the compact, digital work stations for the primary operator control and monitoring functions. The work station consists of four consoles such as a dynamic alarm console (DAC), a system information console (SIC), a computerized operating-procedure console (COC), and a safety related information console (SRIC). The DAC provides clean alarm pictures, in which information overlapping is excluded and alarm impacts are discriminated, for quick situation awareness. The SIC covers a normal operation by offering all necessary plant information and control functions. In addition, it is closely linked with the DAC and the COC to automatically display related system information under the request of these consoles. The COC aids the operator with proper emergency operation guidelines so as to shutdown the plant safely, and it also reduces his physical/mental burden by automating the operating procedures. The SRIC continuously displays safety related information to allow the operator to assess the plant status focusing on plant safety. The proposed HMI has been validated and demonstrated with on-line data obtained from the full-scope simulator for Yonggwang Units 1,2.

The purpose of this study is to check the priority control status of the current operation process alarm by comparing the priority of the alarm set up in PV high trip point, which is being installed and operated in the domestic petrochemical industry, with the criteria presented in ISA 18.2 International Standard or EEMUA 191 Guidelines. In the event of a process problem, excessively set high alarm is provided to the driver in a short period of time, making it difficult to identify the alarm that needs to be handled first. As a result, it is likely that the operator will not be able to carry out appropriate actions within the specified time frame, and many cases have been reported leading to unexpected process shutdowns or process accidents. Therefore, this study aims to introduce international standards related to alarm management and identify the level of alarm control used at the domestic petrochemical industry site to inform potential risks that may occur in the petrochemical process of the national industrial complex in the future and suggest ways to reduce risk factors. This paper was submitted to Professor Lee Inbeom's retirement anniversary issue.
The number of large and complex buildings is growing and they are usually concentrated in metropolitan cities. There is a possibility in such buildings that a small accident can expand to a massive disaster since their scale and complexity. To deal with this issue, a research on gas sensors which can detect multiple gases and early-warning systems has been conducted. Proper criteria or standards are necessary for effective application and operation of such sensor-based disaster monitoring system. In this study, we have proposed the alarm criteria of concentration of hazardous gases for the detection and the alarm release. For each alarm level, systematic disaster response plans consist of responsive actions and information delivery have been prepared. These disaster monitoring criteria can help the detection of hazardous gas-related disaster in the early stage of accident and the provision of appropriate emergency responses.
In these days, the trends of home networking system is implementation of easily configured system with home security of emergency alarm and visitor verification services. In this paper, we implemented push server system based on Arduino of open source physical computation platform to verify visitors for the homes without home networking services. In the suggested system, visitor verification is performed in and out of home, and home access security of the system could be constructed with low-cost price by use of windows push server system and smart devices with alarm operation in corresponding to not allowed access trying.
In this paper, we implemented a welfare system for the elderly living alone, disabled, or babies to provide fast incident response in case of emergency situations. The proposed system can quickly recognize emergency situations using heart rate sensors and real-time image sharing. The sensors attached on a wrist band monitor the heart rate along with relevant bio signals of clients and send alarms to guardians in the emergency situations. At the same time, the real-time image signals are captured using OpenCV and sent to the guardians in order to give the exact information for fast and appropriate response to handle the situation. In the proposed system, the camera works only in the emergency situations so as to provide enough privacy to the client's every day life.
In this research, The Police Order No. 2013-1, which is 'Electronic Security 112 Report Standards,' was analyzed and the relevant policy tasks were presented. The policy tasks to achieve the purpose of the selective report system are as follows. First, in order to construct the statistics base, the establishment of the terms related to false alarm and false call, emergency button, and sensing signal and the development of the appropriate term to replace the electronic security guard are needed. Second, the electronic security companies should build the response system to abide by the 112 report standards of the police order. Third, the police should reexamine the establishment of the emergency report objects of the selective report system. Fourth, the reinforcement of the administrative regulation and supervision to enforce the police order strictly is required.
