Recent paradigm in technology shifts from object-based technology to environment-based technology. Issue here is interaction among human, machines, and environment. This requires new interpretations for the space among them. Holistic interactions based on “Mom (embodiment)” suggest a good starting point for this endeavor. The past, present, future of technology are presented in terms of technology’s fundamental virtue: “humanizing technology” or “technology serving human.” Interactive technology initiative (ITI) is an interdisciplinary research group to search for the proper technology and the proper way of implementing technology: “interactive technology” or “soft engineering.” Some experimental activities conducted by ITI are presented in this organized session, “Interactive Technology.” Metatechnology, soft engineering, “Mom (embodiment),” holistic interactions, tangible space, and ubiquitous computing are key concepts in interactive technology.

A new paradigm of technology, based on the overall interactions of technology, humans and environment through Korperlichkeit(corporeality or philosophy of Mom), is explored. Parallelism based on holism and embodiment, and relative interactions based on correspondence and interrelationships, are the key ideas in the proposed paradigm. Biological information processing systems much resemble the key ideas of interactive technology. Robots could be easily implemented from this evolutionary engineering approach.

In order to note some points necessary for developing the cornerstone design course concentrating on conceptual design through that students acknowledge that engineering design is not to make things but to produce knowledge not only meet requirements of clients, users, and stake holders but also to solve problems, this paper describes the contents for the course that covers conceptual design as well as embodiment design, explains some ways and tools both for guiding students and for asking for study of lecture materials, and discuss things to be considered when faculty designs the course.

본 연구는 인간-컴퓨터 상호작용 디자인(HCI Design)에서 사용자 중심적인 디자인 기술개발의 원리를 포착하기 위한 방법의 일환으로 인간-컴퓨터 상호작용에서 재현되는 모든 시각적 단서들의 전형을 "비쥬얼 토큰(Visual Tokens)"이라는 개념적 모델로 파악하였다. 또한 비쥬얼 토큰의 각 세부 속성과 컴퓨터 환경 노출 정도에 따른 사용자 유형 중의 하나인 초심자(naive user),일반사용자(casual user), 숙련가(expret uesr) 그룹과의 상관관계를 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션과 피험자 설문 및 인터뷰로써 고찰하였다. 이를 통해 궁극적으로는 HCI 디자인 구현의 기초자료가 되는 사용자 중심적인 가이드라인을 제시하였으며 HCI 분야에서의 디자인적 접근방법을 모색하였다.방법을 모색하였다.

Purpose: The purposes of this study were to assess the trend of use of statistical methods including parametric and nonparametric methods and to evaluate the use of complex statistical methodology in recent periodontal studies. Methods: This study analyzed 123 articles published in the Journal of Periodontal & Implant Science (JPIS) between 2010 and 2014. Frequencies and percentages were calculated according to the number of statistical methods used, the type of statistical method applied, and the type of statistical software used. Results: Most of the published articles considered (64.4%) used statistical methods. Since 2011, the percentage of JPIS articles using statistics has increased. On the basis of multiple counting, we found that the percentage of studies in JPIS using parametric methods was 61.1%. Further, complex statistical methods were applied in only 6 of the published studies (5.0%), and nonparametric statistical methods were applied in 77 of the published studies (38.9% of a total of 198 studies considered). Conclusions: We found an increasing trend towards the application of statistical methods and nonparametric methods in recent periodontal studies and thus, concluded that increased use of complex statistical methodology might be preferred by the researchers in the fields of study covered by JPIS.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Lower circulating 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] levels are associated with a higher risk of hypertension (HTN); however, it remains unclear whether the relationship is causal. We aimed to evaluate the causal effects of circulating 25(OH)D levels on the prevalence of HTN in the Korean population using the Mendelian randomization (MR) approach. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Epidemiological data, serum 25(OH)D data, and genomic DNA biospecimens were obtained from 2,591 participants, a subset of the study population in the Korea National Health and Nutrition Survey 2011-2012. Five 25(OH)D-related single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs; DHCR7 rs12785878, CYP2R1 rs10741657, CYP2R1 rs12794714, CYP24A1 rs6013897, and GC rs2282679), identified a priori from genome-wide association studies, were used as instrument variables (IVs) for serum 25(OH)D levels. In the MR analysis, we performed IV analyses using the two-stage least squares method. RESULTS: In the observational analysis, circulating 25(OH)D levels were found to be inversely associated with the HTN prevalence in ordinary least squares models (odds ratio: 0.97, 95% confidence interval: 0.96, 0.99) after adjusting for the potential confounders. There were differences in the circulating 25(OH)D levels across genotypes of individual SNPs. In the MR analysis, using individual SNPs as IVs, 25(OH)D levels were not associated with the HTN prevalence. CONCLUSIONS: We found no association between genetically determined circulating 25(OH)D levels and HTN in Korean adults. Our results are listed owing to the relatively small sample size and possible weak instrument bias; therefore, further studies are needed to confirm these results.

본 연구에서는 가상현실 기술을 사용하여 시스템과 사용자간의 효율적인 상호작용이 이루어 질 수 있는 가상 박물관 구현을 목표로 한다. 실제 박물관에서는 관람객이 원하는 대로 전시품을 직접 조작해 볼 수 없으며, 유물에 대한 부가정보도 설명문 위주로 되어 있어 감상할 수 있는 방법이 매우 제한적이라고 할 수 있다. 최근에는 웹상에서 제공되는 박물관에 대한 정보 제공방식이 다양해지고 있기는 하지만 효과적인 정보제공이 이루어지기 위해서는 정보를 사용자 위주로 복합적으로 제공하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 기존 방식의 단점을 보완할 수 있는 가상세계를 구현함을 목표로 한다. 컴퓨터상에 구현된 사이버공간에서 사용자의 자유로운 시점 설정과 네비게이션이 가능한 환경을 제공하고, 다양한 정보전달 매체들이 가진 요소를 적절히 사용하여 입체적이고 통합적인 가상세계를 제안한다.

Modern house degraded by object of possession by industry and capitalistic development, and it is losing genuine meaning as order system to secure perpetuity of dwelling. Paradigm of space embodiment need first of all laying stress on human's life to overcome such modem dwelling crisis. In modern age Europe, Adolf Loos tried to embody residing space of human center within modernistic developing of technology, urbanization etc.. For such reason, Raumplan is worth reviewing. By treatise that research about Raumplan is many already presentation of the results of ones study do. But most discussions were limited by opinion which is 'Three-dimensional space plan techniques' that give attention to in physical characteristics of Raumplan, and by opinion which is 'Adolf Loos' criticism about culture with outside society. We reconsidered Raumplan in side of general paradigm of residing space embodiment that started from relevant resident's life in treatise that see as such reason.
