생명 패러다임 정보행태모델 (New Information Behavior Model: Life Paradigm Based)

  • 21세기에 들어서 인문학계와 과학계가 서로 융합되며 새로운 이론과 모델들이 창출되고 있다. 그 중에서도 여러 제반분야에서 관심을 받는 이론이 체화된(embodied) 인지이론이다. 본 연구는 이때까지의 정보학 이용자 행태에 대한 메타이론을 간략하게 살피고, 그 한계를 짚어 본다. 다음으로 이러한 체화된 인지이론과 더불어 정보행위의 주체인 인간이 속하는 생명체에 관한 엔트로피 개념을 도입해 새로운 시대의 흐름에 맞는 생명 패러다임 정보행태모델을 제시하고자 한다. 검색이라는 개념과 이용자의 행위에 대한 개별적인 접근의 한계를 극복하고 통합적 패러다임으로서의 새로운 정보검색이론의 담론을 기대한다.

From Thinking to Action: The Moderating Effect of Perspective Taking on Embodied Cognition

  • Recent developments in embodied cognition suggest that people process environmental information by using their bodily state and mental simulation. The focus of embodiment theory is that cognitive processing is based on the interaction among the body, the mind, and the world. Based on embodied theories of cognition, the authors predict that when the representation of marathon running is activated, bodily feedback such as tiredness and thirst will occur because mental simulation of marathon running contains sensorimotor representation of marathon running. As a result, it is predicted that participants primed with marathon runner will have more desire to have products that enable thirsty-quenching. Specifically, this research proposes that consumers' tendency to adopt the perspective of others influences embodied cognition, since perspective taking leads people to assimilate their own self-judgments and behaviors toward the cognitive representations of others. An experiment reveals that both perceptual and cognitive perspective taking tendencies moderate how participants respond to the contextual cues. The effect of perspective taking is moderated by whether participants are prompted to adopt a first-person view or a third-person view. In detail, among the high perspective takers, those in the marathon-first-person condition drink more the mineral water than those in the marathon-third-person condition, who in turn drink more the mineral water than those in the control condition. Among the low perceptual perspective takers, however, there are no significant differences in the amount of mineral water intake. This research delivers important insights for advertising messages. When being exposed to an advertisement, high perspective taking consumers may be more engaged in the advertised message than low perspective taking consumers, which in turn high (vs. low) perspective taking consumers' tendency to respond behaviorally consistent with the message may be higher. Based on the findings of this research, if the message induces the high perspective taking consumers to have a first- (vs. third-) person view, this effect may be stronger. Moreover, if the advertising message contains behaviors, such as using the target product, inducing consumers to mimic the behaviors seems to bring more behavioral responses which marketers intend.

  • 오래도록 생산성향상곡선 (또는 학습곡선), 생산함수, 그리고 대체곡선 등은, 서로 관련이 없는 별개의, 그리고 순전히 경험적인 (empirical) 현상들인 것들로서 이해되어 왔었다. 그러나 1980년대 중반에 발표된 Muth 교수의 탐색이론 (Search Theory)의 생산성향상곡선에서 관찰된 제반현상들을 모두 설명함으로써 이들 현상은 하나의 통합이론체계에 의하여 일관되게 설명되게 되었다. 이 이론의 초기형태는 그 보편성을 구속하는 네 가지 가설 위에 설립되었었으나 점차적으로 이들 가설들이 완화되면서 (relaxed) 이 이론은 또한 해독 력에서 뿐만 아니라 일반성에 있어서도 계속 강화되어 왔다. 본 논문의 목적은, 이들 네 가지 가설들 중 유일하게 아직 완화되지 못하고 있는, 실제 현상과 다분히 유리된, 두 번째 가설, 즉$\ulcorner$생산성향상을 위한 탐색과정에서 새로이 발견된 개량 신기술 (또는 생산방식) 은 즉각적으로 채택될 것$\lrcorner$이라는 가설을 완화함으로써, 보다 현실에 대한 해석력과 일반성 면에서 개선된 모델을 제시하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 제시된 모델은 Muth 교수의 탐색이론모델에 두가지 변수를 더함으로써 확장하여 만든 모델이다. 이 두 변수는 신기술의 채택 (또는 획득)을 위하여 지불하여야 하는 투자비변수와 탐색과정을 통하여 발견은 되었으나 아직 채택은 되지 않은, 유보상태 신기술의 운영비용 변수(또는 수익성변수)등이다. 이 모델의 내용은, 생산성향상은 신기술이 구현된 (embodied) 장비 (equipment)를 사용함으로써 실현되며, 따라서 창의적 활동의 이득은 이들 장비에 대한 투자행위로서 실현된다는 것이다. 이 모델은 보다 나은 신기술이 또 발견될 것이라는 기대 하에, 현재 발견된 최신기술을 채택하지 않는 투자지연현상을 예측.설명해 주며 따라서 이로 인한 기술적 비효율성의 존재이유를 제시한다. 또한 이 모델은 생산성 향상곡선의 초기굴곡현상, 정체현상, 그리고 도약현상 등을 모두 설명해 준다.

Ashbery's Aesthetics of Difficulty: Information Theory and Hypertext

  • This paper is concerned with John Ashbery's poetics of difficulty, questioning in particular the nature of communication in his difficult poems. Ashbery has an idea of poetry as 'information' to be transmitted to the reader. Meaning, however, is to be created by a series of selections among equally probable choices. Ashbery's poetry has been characterized by resistance to the interpretive system of meaning. But the resistance itself, as I will argue, can be an effective medium of communication as the communicated message is not simply transmitted but 'selected' and thus created by the reader. In Ashbery's poetry, disruptive 'noise' elements can be processed as constructive information. What is normally considered a hindrance or noise can be reversed and added to the information. In Ashbery's poems, random ambiguities or noises can be effectively integrated into the final structure of meaning. Such a stochastic sense of information transfer has been embodied in Ashbery's idea of creating a network of verbal elements in his poetry, analogous to the interconnecting web of hypertext, the most dynamic medium 'information technology' has brought to us. John Ashbery, whose poems are simultaneously incomprehensible and intelligent, employs ambiguities or noise in his poetry, with an attempt to reach through linear language to express nonlinear realities. It is therefore my intention to examine Ashbery's poetics of difficulty, from a perspective of communication transmission, using the theories of information technology and the principles of hypertext theory. Ashbery's poetry raises precisely the problem confronted in the era of communication and information technology. The paper will also show how his aesthetics of difficulty reflects the culture of our uncertain times with overflowing information. With his difficult enigmatic poems, Ashbery was able to move ahead of the technological advances of his time to propose a new way of perceiving the world and life.

The Symbolism Embodied in the Expo Emblem-Based on Victor Turner's Symbolic Theory

  • This study aims to examine the symbolism of the emblems of World Expositions by using Victor Turner's symbolic theory as a research method, and to reveal the symbolic types behind them by classifying the emblem designs of different periods and themes. The research object is 12 comprehensive World's Fair emblems from the 1939 New York World's Fair in the United States to the 2025 Osaka World's Fair in Japan, as identified by Bureau International des Expositions. The research method mainly adopts documentary research to collect historical information and theoretical frameworks related to the design of World's Fair emblems. In the analysis process, Victor Turner's symbolic sign theory is used as the main analytical framework to link the design elements of emblems to their relevance to specific societies and cultures in order to reveal the themes, values and ideas represented by the emblem symbolism. The results of the study show that the design of the Expo emblem uses different symbols, including material symbols, behavioral symbols, sensory symbols, natural symbols, social symbols and virtual symbols, to convey the core concepts, themes and values of the Expo. Through different types of symbols, the Expo emblem shows a wide range of concerns about technology and the future, mankind and the world, nature and ecology, and society and innovation. The symbolic design of the emblem plays an important role in conveying the core concept and theme of the Expo.

  • This paper has been studied a new geoelectric survey and instrunmentation using Low Frequency Electric Field .sensing Antenna. “Low Frequency Electric Field Sensing” is a technology in new method of survey to use array type antenna, the power of operation in antenna is using AC or DC pulse instead of DC current. The architecture of system embodied transceiver system using a microprocessor(PIC) of Microcllip Technology Inc. An array antenna design and il control transmission of antenna to use CDMA in this system. It is using array type antenna for the earth、earth's crust to survey explain from theory and experience.

  • In this paper, the virtual-reality system is tried to developed, which controls not only the sense of sight and hearing but also the sense of touch, In order to develope the sense of touch in this study, the stable tactual transaction-system, based on summing up the basic algorithm and theory, is embodied. The hardware of this system consists of the 6DOF haptic interface, a controller and a driver In the case of the software, the proxy algorithm is applied for the force-transaction and the mopping algorithm is used for graphic transaction. In addition to this, the imaginary-device driver is utilized for controlling the system and manager-class is also included in this system to manage the position-change and the like. Consequently, the proxy algorithm Is applied, which makes the system possible to be more stable and prompt with and imaginary object. Moreover, the impulse-algorithm is applied to work out a problem which the tactual transaction-period is different from the graphic transaction-period.

  • In this paper, the virtual reality system is tried to developed, which controls not only the sense of sight and hearing but also the sense of touch, In order to develope the sense of touch in this study, the stable tactual transaction system, based on summing up the basic algorithm and theory is embodied. Especially, the graphic deformation algorithm is developed in realtime with using the deformed FEM. To apply the FEM, a deformed material model is produced and then the graphic deformation with this model is able to force. Finally, the graphic transaction algorithm is deduced by the realtime calculation and simplification because the purpose of this system is to transact in real time. The result of this study is that the proposed system is possible to deform the graphics and transact the haptic in real time in PC. The simulation program has been made to prove this result.

  • 본 연구는 긍정심리학의 향유이론을 바탕으로 중년여성의 신체활동 향유방식을 탐색하는데 목적이 있었다. 1단계로 운동참여경험에 대한 배경을 이해하고 향유방식에 대한 기초 정보를 제공하기 위한 오리엔테이션을 진행하였다. 2단계로 개방형설문을 통해 운동 시 활용하는 향유방식을 수집한 뒤 심층면담을 통해 향유방식을 구체화하였다. 수집된 원자료는 긍정심리학의 향유방식을 토대로 유목화 하였으며, 각 방식의 사례를 구체적으로 탐색하기 위해 심층면담을 진행하였다. 개방형설문 결과 중년여성들은 신체활동 시 타인과 공유하기, 자축하기, 비교하기, 세밀하게 감각 느끼기, 축복으로 여기기, 행동으로 표현하기 등의 향유방식을 사용하는 것으로 탐색되었다. 심층면담을 통해서 각 향유방식의 사례를 긍정심리학의 향유이론을 기반으로 구체화하였다. 연구결과를 토대로 중년여성의 운동지도 현장에서의 향유방식 적용 가능성, 향유하기 관련 프로그램 개발 가능성 등을 논의하였다.

  • 프로그래밍 실습은 반드시 프로그램이 설치된 곳에서 교육을 해야하며 교사중심의 강의식 수업만으로는 충분한 학습이 어려운 단점이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 제7차 교육과정의 이론적 토대가 되는 구성주의 교육관(자기주도적학습, 문제중심학습)에 입각하여 Visual Basic 프로그램 학습을 교수자와 학습자 모두에게 효율적이고 긍정적 효과를 얻을 수 있는 수준별 학습 모형으로, 웹이 가지는 긍정적인 효과를 상호보완 하여 설계하였다. 웹 코스웨어는 튜터 시스템과 ActiveX를 이용하여 Visual Basic프로그램을 웹에서도 가능하도록 구현 하였다. 코스웨어를 적용 결과 학생 개개인의 능력 수준에 맞는 수준별 교육과정의 학습방법으로 학습자에 게 다양한 학습 기회를 제공하며, 성취도와 학습의욕을 높일 수 있었다. 또한 오류 수정 학습의 제공으로 문제해결 능력과 논리적 사고 능력을 신장시킬 수 있었다.
