Development of 2.4GHz ISM Band Wireless Communication Platform based on Embedded Linux (임베디드 리눅스 기반의 2.4GHz ISM 밴드 무선 통신 플랫폼 개발)

  • In this paper, we develop a 2.4GHz ISM band wireless communication platform prototype based on embedded linux which support can be u-Hospital service. The developed system is available connecting between ARM920T processor board and FPGA board and linking IEEE 802.11b PHY board, AD/DA(10Bit) and RF(2.4GHz) board for wireless access. It is also can be utilized for the embedded system design with IEEE 802.11b/g Access Point(Option: IEEE 802.11a/b/g) test due to the Embedded Linux. Also, the developed system is possible to test and verify the radio access technology, Modem(OFDM etc) and IP(Intellectual Property) circuit. And make the most use of the system, we search for a expansion to that home and mobile healthcare, wellness service application.

  • In this paper, we propose the development of a Small $360^{\circ}$ Oral Scanner embedded board. The proposed small $360^{\circ}$ oral scanner embedded board consists of image level and transfer method changing part FPGA part, memory part and FIFO to USB transfer part. The image level and transmission mode change unit divides the MIPI format oral image received through the small $360^{\circ}$ oral cavity image sensor and the image sensor into low power signal mode and high speed signal mode and distributes them to the port and transfers the level shift to the FPGA unit. The FPGA unit performs functions such as $360^{\circ}$ image distortion correction, image correction, image processing, and image compression. In the FIFO to USB transfer section, the RAW data transferred through the FIFO in the FPGA is transferred to the PC using USB 3.0, USB 3.1, etc. using the transceiver chip. In order to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed small $360^{\circ}$ oral scanner embedded board, it has been tested by an authorized testing institute. As a result, the frame rate per second is over 60 fps and the data transfer rate is 4.99 Gb/second

  • In this research, an Electronic White Board Control System is developed that stores and prints the data written on the white board. This control system is constructed using an embedded single board PC, whose function is the acquisition(from CCD image sensor system), processing and storing of the data on the screen. The properties of this system are as follows: 1. The system is able to move the screen on the right and left. 2. The system is able to output the data written on the screen to a connected printer. 3. The system is controlled by an external remote PC connected to the system by serial line as well as by the keys on the control panel.   • ATC on-board equipment require realtime embedded software with high level of safety and reliability. To satisfy these requirements, many techniques are applied to the development of software during the lifecycle. In case of software modeling, object-oriented methodology is widening its niche replacing traditional structured methodology and modeling in UML using a CASE tool is a growing trend. In this paper, we modeled ATC on-board software in UML using Rhapsody, which is a modeling tool for realtime embedded software. We modeled the behavior of ATC on-board equipment based on state machine diagram and validated the model using the animation feature provided in the tool. According to our study, the CASE tool based on UML showed high level of applicability in modeling and verifying the software with complex behavioral characteristics.

  • This paper deals with a design of a platform to simulate PRT vehicle operational control algorithms using on-board embedded process board. The configuration of the platform is composed of the central control module, the station control module, man-machine interface and monitoring module. Since PRT system needs inherently very reliable vehicle operational control algorithm in order to avoid the impact between vehicles, it is very important to construct a simulation platform to test a designed vehicle operational control algorithm during the development process For the test of the proposed platform a path of the each moving vehicle is predefined in the central control system before the dispatch order is given to the vehicle. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed simulation platform for test and evaluation of the PRT operational control algorithms.

  • Boundary scan architecture test methodology was introduced to facilitate the testing of complex printed circuit board. The boundary scan architecture has a tremendous potential for real time monitoring of the operational status of a system without interference of normal system operation. In this paper, a new type of embedded controller for real time monitoring of the operational status of a system is proposed and designed by using boundary scan architecture. The proposed real time monitoring embedded controller consists of test access port controller and an embedded controller proposed real time monitoring embedded controller using boundary scan architecture can save the hard-wire resource and can easily interface with boundary scan architecture chip. Experimental results show that the real time monitoring using proposed embedded controller is more effective then the real time monitoring using host computer.

  • In this paper, development of embedded system based on Windows CE 5.0 which released recently is studied. Embedded softwares for the target board using S3C2410A SOC based on ARM920T core are composed of (1) BSP(Board Support Package) contains an OAL(OEM Adaptation Layer) which includes a boot loader for initializing and customizing target hardware, device drivers, and a corresponding set of configuration files (2) Windows CE 5.0 kernel (3) SDK and MP3 test application. Particularly, PB(Platform Builder) provides the efficient functions to build, test and debug the BSP and CE kernel. It is looked forward to being widely spread that Windows CE 5.0 will be utilized at smart devices such as PMP, CNS and DMB phone which inevitably require a display device.

  • In this study, a smart motor control and monitoring system is developed with an embedded board where Intel PXA255B CPU is mounted. Linux is ported into the embedded board as RTOS(Real Time Operating System), and the environment which communicate with a motor driver through serial protocol and is capable of controlling and monitoring the motor in real time is built in the system. A user friendly GUI is developed for the convenient operation of the system. Also, the environment which is able to control and monitor the motor driver remotely is built in the system using TCP/IP protocol.

  • RF embedded 기판의 기술은 Module과 Package라는 응용 제품을 거치면서 최종적으로는 기존의 여러 가지 제품의 Mother Board(특히 휴대폰)에 접목 시키기 위한 노력이 계속 진행되고 있다. 업계 및 Research 기관의 조사 결과에 따르면 PCB 시장의 성장세와 맞물려 Embedded 시장규모는 큰 폭의 상승이 예상된다. 본 고에서는 높은 유전율을 가지는 강유전체 물질의 Embedded capacitor 적용을 위해 레이저 기술을 전자부품 제조현장에 적용하는 연구의 진행상황을 소개하고자 한다.

  • The purpose of this study is to realize DHCP server based on embedded system. To achieve this, embedded Linux was ported in ez Bord-M01 mounted with Intel Strong ARM SA1110 processor, and ethernet-based network was constructed for network function. In this way, this study suggests embedded DHCP server where Window and Linux client hosts are dynamically configurated as network information by dynamically assigning network information in embedded board.
