The purpose of this study is to develop the elementary 'after school' smart music education program using smart devices in connection with elementary school curriculum of 2015 music and education. The research method was based on the data related to the after school education program and the music-related contents of the current elementary school curriculum. And a smart music education program was developed by applying the contents of elementary school music curriculum to practical music using smart devices. The study result suggests three programs with 16 times. Through this program, we can expect diverse, systematic and continuous music education rather than one-sided or one-off music education which are provided by the existing public education courses. Through the field experience, students will be able to directly experience arts and cultures as well as to awaken their potential artistry and creativity. In addition, it is expected that it will help to reduce the economic burden by reducing the burden of private education expenses through the after school program and to realize the qualitative growth of music education in schools.

For an effective listening to music, a repeated listening to music should be possible without any restriction of time and space as well as to music for a music class and the various multi-media learning materials for listening to music is required. However, an individualized and repeated listening is difficult and an individualized listening materials are lacking. To solve these problems, learning system for listening to music in elementary school sharing learning materials required for it and including learning factors of listening to music is required. Therefore, this study analyzes learning factors of listening to music in elementary school and the learning system for listening to music is designed and developed to make elementary students have their own active listening to music and feel achievement and confidence by teacher's evaluation of their writings after listening to music and experience a joyful musical activity. And it is applied to elementary school.

This purpose of this study was to investigate the influences of environmental education through ecological art education focused on music drama, on the environmental sensitivity of 5th graders in an elementary school in Seoul. A reconstructed questionnaire through Kim(2008)'s test tool was used to the effects of applying an ecological art educational program. The SPSS program was used to analyze the results. The major results of this study are as follows. First, the researcher was able to develop and apply a professor-learning model for the environmental education using the ecological art education focused on music drama by extracting and recreating environment related contents from the 5th grader curriculum. Second, this program had a positive effect on elementary students' environmental sensitivity. Third, according to qualitative results, students appear to be more concerned and interested in the environment and environmental problems in their daily lives. In conclusion, the ecological art program focused on music drama has a positive effect on increasing the environmental sensitivity of 5th graders. Therefore, more intensive research should be conducted, linking teaching and learning methods, as a follow-up activity.

Elementary school classroom designs have been developed toward open education system to provide students diverse and improved educational environments since the early of 1990 in Korea. Unfortunately, the quality of music room has not still shown dramatic improvements due to the lack of the acoustical knowledges of architects. This report aims to investigate typical acoustic quality of previous or current music room of elementary schools and show new acoustic treatment technologies to improve the room acoustic of music room by adapting composite perforated panel system and diffusion technology. The music room at Daihyun Elementary school in Yongin was chosen as a case study of this report. The music room was measured to be analyzed using field measurements and the acoustical specifications of composite perforated panel systems and kinds of diffusors were set. Acoustic measurements were performed after the renovation to show the differences between previous room acoustic and after the acoustic renovations. As the result, the case study has shown that the new composite perforated panel systems and diffusion surfaces lowered reverberation time at proper level along with improving the clarity of music, RASTI, and spatial impressions. Also, acoustic interferences such as comb filtering and flutter echoes have been controlled dramatically by diffusive surfaces. The study shows music rooms in elementary schools, middle and high schools can be improved by adapting composite perforated panel systems and diffusors.

It has been passed more than 50 years of the history of music therapy on school aged children since there had been enforced the 'Education for All Handicapped Children Ace' in United states 1975, which had made an important role of music therapist augmented. In the case of South Korea, through reforming the law on March 2005 that therapist educator has to be allocated on the special class in general school, at least, patrol teacher is charged on that, which made possible to start music therapy as initial stage was realized in realistic way on the spot of school. This research has primary concerns as following. The one thing is intended that figuring the opinions of special educators and music therapists involved with the music therapy in elementary school. And the other thing is intended that making a investigation of actual condition on the spot of existing school, moreover, pinpointing at issue and suggesting the change for the better than now. In order to undertake theses intentions, I examined preceding researches and existing data, distributed the questionnaire involved the music therapy of elementary school to the people who are composed of special educators-65 persons and music therapists-30 persons from 18th October to second of November, and analyzed collected by descriptive statistics. According to the analyzed results, it says that special educator and music therapist know well about the necessity of music therapy in elementary school and its effectiveness is manifested in positive way. Moreover, in order to systemize and promote a program of music therapy, what is most urgent thing is the completion of instrument and music therapy room and there are needed strong supports at the level of nation and institution. It has become pervasive on the demand of therapy education by parents in all of the places involved with disabled children such as special school, special class, local welfare community, and early education. This research shows that how therapy and education was connected as music therapy on the spot of the elementary school, and the necessity of the education of music therapy.

In line with the 4th industrial revolution and the innovative changes of the 21st century knowledge and information society, the education field where the 2015 revised curriculum is applied is facing a situation where it is necessary to consider various teaching and learning methods. Among them, interest in instructional design applying flipped learning suitable for future education is growing, but studies on classes using flipped learning in actual music and education are rare. In general music classes currently conducted in the elementary education field, it is insufficient to learn the musical function targeted in the class. Therefore, this study developed and validated an instructional design model for elementary school music and classes that applied flipped learning based on the ADDIE model, which is a systematic instructional design model, using the design and development research methodology. Based on the developed instructional design model, major issues for each stage were presented, and major educational implications in the development process were discussed.

To maximize educational effect with new educational methods in the 4th Industrial Revolution era, immersive education has become the core type of education and virtual reality (VR) is at the center of realistic content. VR education is increasing in school, but researches on VR production education are insufficient. Our study has proposed a school-level curriculum for students to create their own VR content. The output and the survey results were analyzed to find out the learner characteristics of elementary school students, middle school students, and pre-service teachers at each school level. As a result, there were some noticeable differences in concentration, content subject, and production time according to school level. Primary school students focused on their subjects, middle school students related to learning, and pre-service teachers put top priority on contents useful for primary education.

This study investigates the effectiveness of computer programming with KODU on problem-solving abilities of elementary school students. Diverse tools were developed for novice programmers to become more easy and comfort in learning a computer programming. Among them, KODU has focused on facilitating the programming of various multimedia applications to create games, animations and music videos etc. It is expected that KODU will help elementary school students to improve their problem-solving abilities through creating their own games, animation, and music etc. In this paper, we developed the educational program using KODU for teaching the elementary school students. The developed programming course was offered at the 5th grade students of a elementary school in Seoul and a total of 27 elementary school students were participated in our programming courses. Most of the students stated that the course was interesting, and their problem-solving ablilities were improved after the course from March 2014 through May 2014.

This study is intended to design a rhythm game improving the student's capacity to learn and appreciate music. This game was tested in the music classes of an elementary school. The note patterns reflecting melody affected the perception of pitch, duration, and loudness of the music. This study also presented that the factor influencing students' immersion in music and learning music was the multi-sense of sight, hearing, and touch.

This is a study of strengthening the practice of environmental education in the primary and secondary school music program. Since the world war II, the environmental situation has been getting worse and worse. So it is now a global issue to conserve energy and solving the ecological problems we are confronting. Solving the environmental problem is not just a scientist's task nor a specific school education subject's either, but a responsibility of all human beings. In this sense, it is necessary for every school subject, including music, should include elements of environmental education in its education contents. in this paper the researcher has tried to point out some reasonable aspects of environmental education guidelines which would be pursued through school music programs. In the music subject the following eight environmental education strategies could be suggested: 1. An affective aspect of music should be used in educating students to aware of the importance of environmental problems. 2. The effectiveness of employing music for various educational purposes should be implemented to make students environmentally enlightened individual. 3. The main issue of environmental problem must be used in various musical activities such as singing, implementing, composing and appreciating music. 4. By employing an alternative materials for making musical instruments, students and musicians can participate in environmental education program actively. 5. Music is analogues to life and nature. Thus it is highly suggested for teachers to teach students music more sincerely In a way of studying music more seriously, students could achieve environmental education goals by discovering the similarities of the nature of the environment and music as a human environment. 6. By appreciating many musical works of dealing with environmental problems and ecological problems, one could achieve the necessary goals of environmental education. 7. By enlarging the boundary of music including the sounds of nature such as birds' singing, sounds of winds and various streams and tree's trembling, music could achieve the major goals of environmental education. 8. By recognizing sounds as an important human environment, school music program could attain the goals of environmental education. The researcher also has mentioned about the characteristics of music as a schooling subject. and has provided with some detailed curriculum guidelines for strengthening environmental education programs in music classes. Some model lesson plans implementing the environmental education for elementary, junior high school and 10th grade music classes are also suggested followed by six specific teaching ＆ learning methods for environmental education.
