  • The most important technology in the electronic commerce based on Internet is to guarantee the security of trading information exchange. Many technologies are proposed as a standard to support this security problem. One of them is an XML (eXtensible Markup Language). This is used in various applications as the document standard for electronic commerce system. The XML security has become very important topic. In this paper an XML security model for web services based electronic commerce system to guarantee the secure exchange of trading information. To accomplish the security of XML, the differences of XML signature, XML encryption and XML key management scheme respect to the conventional system should be provided. The new architecture is proposed based on unique characteristics of XML. Especially the method to integrate the process management system need to the electronic commerce is proposed.

  • CALS/EC is about doing business electronically. It is based on the electronic processing and transmission of data, including text, sound and video. It encompasses many diverse activities including electronic trading of goods and services, online delivery of digital content, electronic fund transfers, electronic share trading, electronic bills of lading, commercial auctions, collaborative design and engineering, online sourcing, public procuremet, direct consumer marketing, and after-sales service. It involves both products(e.g. consumer goods, specialised medical equipment) and services(e.g. information services, financial and legal services); traditional activities(e.g. healthcare, education) and new activities (e.g. virtual malls). CALS/EC will be emerging to replace and substitute the role of the conventional market. By changing and eliminating some processes of the transactions, the electronic market and the electronic commerce will redistribute the power and hence the benefits of the market activities. Traditional way of doing business may enter into the new electronic market because the role and function of trust and established reputation will be reinforced in the electronic market. The CALS/EC through the Internet has been in the spotlight in the shopping behavior of the consumers. Accordingly Corporates are trying to adapt themselves to those rapidly changing environments being affected by the Internet. Among others, particularly to be noted is the CALS/EC between corporations and consumers whose potential growth can be considered very substantial. This report, focusing on the introduction of CALS/EC for the logistics of SMEs, will allow us to prepare more efficiently for the coming 21st Century. It is obvious that CALS/EC is fast becoming the useful way of exchanging not only information but products in business between firm-to-firm and firm-to-customer.

  • The application of neural networks to stock forecasting has received a great deal of attention because no assumption about a suitable mathematical model has to be made prior to forecasting and they are capable of extracting useful information from data, which is required to describe nonlinear input-output relations of stock forecasting. The paper builds neural network models to forecast daily KOrea composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI), and their performance is demonstrated. MAPEs of NN1 model show 0.427 and 0.627 in its learning and test, respectively. Based on the predicted KOSPI price, the paper proposes an alpha trading for trades in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) that fluctuate with the KOSPI200. The alpha trading is tested with data from 125 trade days, and its trade return of 7.16 ~ 15.29 % suggests that the proposed alpha trading is effective.

  • Electronic commerce facilitates trade and lower transaction cost can help firms make use of the opportunities of globalization of production and markets. Electronic commerce has broad implications for future trade. These implications include the effect on trade policy making and enforcement. And it is important to ensure that the present and future trading system de jure and de facto allows electronic commerce to realize its potentials as an alternative or a complement to conventional trade. The comprehensive work program had been implemented to examine all trade-related issues relating to global electronic commerce before the Seattle 3rd Ministerial Conference which was suspended. In general, Member countries recognized the need to ensure that electronic commerce in all its forms is conducted in full conformity with WTO principles and rules. But, there are still major issues to be solved such as access to relevant electronic systems, competition policy in telecomnunications services, WTO provisions relating to the protection of IPRs, the clarification of a number of key concepts and definitions, etc.
