An Overview of Self-Grown Nanostructured Electrode Materials in Electrochemical Supercapacitors

  • Increasing demand for portable and wireless electronic devices with high power and energy densities has inspired global research to investigate, in lieu of scarce rare-earth and expensive ruthenium oxide-like materials, abundant, cheap, easily producible, and chemically stable electrode materials. Several potential electrode materials, including carbon-based materials, metal oxides, metal chalcogenides, layered metal double hydroxides, metal nitrides, metal phosphides, and metal chlorides with above requirements, have been effectively and efficiently applied in electrochemical supercapacitor energy storage devices. The synthesis of self-grown, or in-situ, nanostructured electrode materials using chemical processes is well-known, wherein the base material itself produces the required phase of the product with a unique morphology, high surface area, and moderate electrical conductivity. This comprehensive review provides in-depth information on the use of self-grown electrode materials of different morphologies in electrochemical supercapacitor applications. The present limitations and future prospects, from an industrial application perspectives, of self-grown electrode materials in enhancing energy storage capacity are briefly elaborated.

Smishing smartphone accidents increased sharply from 2013, MERS infection cases, landmine provocative events, such as the delivery of Thanksgiving has occurred cleverly using social engineering techniques. In this paper, i analyze the trends in Smishing hacking attacks on mobile devices since 2014. With regard to social issues, it analyzes the process of hacking attacks Smishing leading to financial fraud to mobile users.

  • Lithium battery is widely used as the power source of various electronic devices. The formation process which is the repeated charging and discharging process is essential in the production of lithium battery. In this paper, it is proposed and designed the DC-DC converter that can charge and also discharge the lithium battery in one converter. The proposed converter is designed by considering the charge/discharge characteristics of the lithium battery. The converter is operated as a forward converter in charging process and a electrically isolated boost converter in discharging process. Based on the analyses, the number of transformer turns, inductor, capacitor, and switching devices are designed. Finally, the validity of the design for the proposed converter is verified by both simulations and experiments.

  • This paper is dedicated to the development of cooling devices such as mLHP with Fan-Fin system limited by noise and vibration. As we know, Heat pipe has the limitation of cooling capability to cool down the electronics. It is bounded by capillary and thermal limitation but heat load that it has to deal with is increasing. Especially Today's electronic technology has a tendency to integrate lots of function into the small piece of a processor like Dual core having 35W heat load for mobile and desktop computer respectively. There is an optimum operating condition of temperature, below $70^{\circ}C$, during the maximum heat load, 35W. There is the motivation needed to develop the new type of cooling devices and we can discuss about the new challenge beyond heat pipe.

  • Thermal shock testing was used to evaluate reliability that appeared in the solder joints of electronic devices when they were subjected to thermal cycling. Recently, mobile devices have come smaller and multi-functional, with the increasing need for high-density packaging, BGA or CSP has become the main trend for surface mounting technology, and therefore mechanical stress life for solder joints in BGA/CSP type packages has required. Reliability of BGA/CSP solder joints was evaluated with electric resistivity change of daisy chain pattern and stress-strain curve measured using strain gage attached on the surface of PCB under mechanical impact loading. In this report, applications of PCB Universal Testing Machine we have developed and experimental datum of SONY estimating dynamic behavior of mechanical stress in BGA/CSP solder joints are introduced.

  • Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) utilize electric power as well as a mechanical engine for propulsion; therefore the performance of HEV s can be directly influenced by the characteristics of the Energy Storage System (ESS). The ESS for HEVs generally requires high power performance, long cycle life and reliability, as well as cost effectiveness. So the Hybrid Energy Storage System (HESS), which combines different kinds of storage devices, has been considered to fulfill both performance and cost requirements. To improve operating efficiency, cycle life, and cold cranking of the HESS, an advanced dynamic control regime with which pertinent storage devices in the HESS can be selectively operated based on their status was presented. Verification tests were performed to confirm the degree of improvement in energy efficiency. In this paper, an advanced HESS with improved an Battery Management System (BMS), which has optimal switching control function based on the estimated State of Charge (SOC), has been developed and verified.

  • Si direct bonding(SDB) technology is very attractive for both Si-on-insulator(SOI) electric devices and MEMS applications because of its stress free structure and stability. This paper presents on pre-bonding according to HF pre-treatment conditions in Si wafer direct bonding. The characteristics of bonded sample were measured under different bonding conditions of HF concentration, and applied pressure. The bonding strength was evaluated by tensile strength method. The bonded interface and the void were analyzed by using SEM and IR camera respectively. A bond characteristic on the interface was analyzed by using IT- IR. Si-F bonds on Si surface after HF pre-treatment are replaced by Si-OH during a DI water rinse. Consequently, hydrophobic wafer was bonded by hydrogen bonding of Si $OH{\cdots}(HOH{\cdots}HOH{\cdots}HOH){\cdots}OH-Si$. The bond strength depends on the HF pre-treatment condition before pre- bonding (Min:$2.4kgf/crn^2{\sim}Max:14.9kgf/crn^2$)

  • The imaging areas of currently available optical detectors are relatively small to cope with large image areas such as telescope focal Planes. One Possibility to obtain large detection areas is to assemble mosaics of Charge Coupled Devices(CCDs) and drive them simultaneously. Parallel driving of many CCDs together rules out the possibility of individual tuning; however such optimisation is very important when the ultimate low light level performance is required particularly for new devices. In this work, a new concept has been developed for an entirely novel approach where the drive waveforms are multiplexed and interleaved. This simultaneously reduces the number of leadout connections and permits individual optimisation efficiently. The controller has been designed to include one electronic of component produced by CAD software where most of the digital circuits are integrated to minimise the component count and improve the efficiency of the system greatly. The software has an open architecture to permit convenient modificationl by the user to fit their specific purposes. The desire of controller allows great flexibility of system parameters by the softwa re, specifically for the compatibility to deal with any number of mixed CCDs and in any format within the practical limit. The system has been integrated to test the performance and the result is discussed for readout noise, system linearity and cross-talk between the CCDs. The system developed in this work can be applicable not only for astro nomical observation with a telescope but also in other related fields for low light level detection systems such as spectroscopic application, remote sensing and X-ray detecti13n systems with large sensing areas and high resolution.

  • A strong need to improve the quality of electric power is increased because of increasing use of the sensitive and small-sized electronic devices. The transient overvoltages on low-voltage AC power distribution systems are induced by direct or indirect lightning return strokes, and they can cause damage and/or malfunction of the utility systems for home automation, office automation and factory automation as well as medical equipment. The behaviors of lightning overvoltages transferred through the transformer to the low voltage AC power distribution systems were experimentally investigated using a Marx generator. The surge voltages in low-voltage ac power systems are rarely limited by the application of the surge arrester to the primary side of distribution transformer and a custom service ground.

  • Broadband noise with frequency components in the range from several kHz up the tens of MHz is a major obstacle factor in normal operation of the AC line to supply the power to electrical and electronic control equipments. Because this kind of noise could damage the device or could be a source of malfunction, many devices such as filter and surge suppressor are used to cut off the noise. But those devices could not disconnected from the power line, so they result in poor common-mode of NCT as well as insulation characteristics as a isolation transformer in addition faraday shielding and proposed analysis model of NCT having tow functions of surge and noise reduction. The simulated and experimental results for the surge suppression characteristics are compared and evaluated for designed protype 1[kVA] NCT.
