ZnO-Zn2BiVO6-Mn3O4 바리스터의 미세구조와 전기적 특성 (Microstructure and Electrical Properties of ZnO-Zn2BiVO6-Mn3O4 Varistor)

  • This study introduces a new investigation report on the microstructural and electrical property changes of $ZnO-Zn_2BiVO_6-Mn_3O_4$ (ZZMn), where 0.33 mol% of $Mn_3O_4$ and 0.5 mol% of $Zn_2BiVO_6$ were added to ZnO (99.17 mol%) as liquid phase sintering aids. $Zn_2BiVO_6$ contributes to the decrease of sintering temperatures by up to $800^{\circ}C$, and segregates its particles at the grain boundary, while $Mn_3O_4$ enhances ${\alpha}$, the nonlinear coefficient, of varistor properties up to ${\alpha}=62$. In comparison, when the sintering temperature is increased from $800^{\circ}C$ to $1,000^{\circ}C$, the resistivity of ZnO grains decreases from $0.34{\Omega}cm$ to $0.16{\Omega}cm$, and the varistor property degrades. Oxygen vacancy ($V_o^{\bullet}$) (P1, 0.33~0.36 eV) is formed as a dominant defect. Two different kinds of grain boundary activation energies of P2 (0.51~0.70 eV) and P3 (0.70~0.93 eV) are formed according to different sintering temperatures, which are tentatively attributed to be $ZnO/Zn_2BiVO_6$-rich interface and ZnO/ZnO interface, respectively. Accordingly, this study introduces a progressive method of manufacturing ZnO chip varistors by way of sintering ZZMn-based varistor under $900^{\circ}C$. However, to procure a higher reliability, an in-depth study on the multi-component varistors with double-layer grain boundaries should be executed.

  • In all contemporary superscalar processors, the result repositories are implemented as the Reorder Buffer(ROB) slots. In such designs, the ROB is a large multi-ported structure. There are several approaches for reducing the ROB complexity in processors. The one technique relies on a distributed implementation that spreads the centralized ROB structure across the function units(FUs). Each distributed component sized to match the FU workload and with one write port and one read port on each component. We are using M/M/1 Queuing theory to determine the number of entries in each ROB component that the performance of processor depends on. Our schemes are evaluated using the simulation of CPU2000 benchmarks.

ZnO-Zn2BiVO6-Co3O4 바리스터의 전류-전압 및 임피던스의 온도 (Current-Voltage and Impedance Characteristics of ZnO-Zn2BiVO6-Co3O4 Varistor with Temperature)

  • This study introduces the characteristics of current-voltage (I-V) and impedance variance for $ZnO-Zn_2BiVO_6-Co_3O_4$ (ZZCo), which is sintered at $900^{\circ}C$, according to temperature changes. ZZCo varistor demonstrates dramatic improvement of non-linear coefficient, ${\alpha}=66$, with lower leakage current and higher insulating resistivity than those of ZZ ($ZnO-Zn_2BiVO_6$) from the aspect of I-V curves. While both systems are thermally stable up to $125^{\circ}C$, ZZCo represents a higher grain boundary activation energy with 1.05 eV and 0.94 eV of J-E-T and from IS & MS, respectively, than that of ZZ with 0.73 eV and 0.82 eV of J-E-T and from IS & MS, respectively, in the region above $180^{\circ}C$. It could be attributed to the formation of $V^*_o$(0.41~0.47 eV) as dominant defect in two systems, as well as the defect-induced capacitance increase from 781 pF to 1 nF in accordance with increasing temperature. On the other hand, both the grain boundary capacitances of ZZ and ZZCo are shown to decrease to 357 pF and 349 pF, respectively, while the resistances systems decreased exponentially, in accordance with increasing temperature. So, this paper suggests that the application of newly formed liquid phases as sintering additives in both $Zn_2BiVO_6$ and the ZZCo-based varistors would be helpful in developing commercialized devices such as chips, disk-type ZnO varistors in the future.

Sensor array optimization techniques for exhaled breath analysis to discriminate diabetics using an electronic nose

  • Disease discrimination using an electronic nose is achieved by measuring the presence of a specific gas contained in the exhaled breath of patients. Many studies have reported the presence of acetone in the breath of diabetic patients. These studies suggest that acetone can be used as a biomarker of diabetes, enabling diagnoses to be made by measuring acetone levels in exhaled breath. In this study, we perform a chemical sensor array optimization to improve the performance of an electronic nose system using Wilks' lambda, sensor selection based on a principal component (B4), and a stepwise elimination (SE) technique to detect the presence of acetone gas in human breath. By applying five different temperatures to four sensors fabricated from different synthetic materials, a total of 20 sensing combinations are created, and three sensing combinations are selected for the sensor array using optimization techniques. The measurements and analyses of the exhaled breath using the electronic nose system together with the optimized sensor array show that diabetic patients and control groups can be easily differentiated. The results are confirmed using principal component analysis (PCA).

  • ebXML은 XML기반의 새로운 국제 표준 전자상거래 프레임워크이다. 서로 다른 산업분야 간의 상호운용성은 하부 데이터 구조인 핵심 컴포넌트의 재사용을 통하여 가능하다. 이러한 상호운용을 위하여 서로 다른 기업 간의 상호작용을 정의하는 비즈니스 프로세스에서의 핵심 컴포넌트의 역할과 적용 가능성에 대한 분석을 통한 핵심 컴포넌트의 명확한 개념 정립이 필요하다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 ebXML과 핵심 컴포넌트의 역할을 알아보고 등록/저장소에 등록하기 위한 핵심 컴포넌트를 생성하는 핵심 컴포넌트 저장 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다. 이 논문의 핵심 컴포넌트 저장을 위한 시스템은 등록/저장소에 등록하기 적합한 핵심 컴포넌트 구조를 생성하고, 비즈니스 프로세스의 모델링 단계에서 새로운 비즈니스 정보 개체의 생성을 위해서 이용되거나 재 사용될 수 있다.

  • Detection of specific compounds influencing food flavor quality is not easy. Electronic nose, comprised of electronic chemical sensors with partial specificity and appropriate pattern recognition system, is capable of recognizing simple and complex volatiles. It provides fast analysis with simple and straightforward results and is best suited for quality control and process monitoring of flavor in food industry. This review examines application of electronic nose in food analysis with brief explanation of its principle. Characteristics of different sensors and sensor drift. and solutions to related problems are reviewed. Applications of electronic nose in food industry include monitoring of fermentation process and lipid oxidation, prediction of shelf life, identification of irradiated volatile compounds, discrimination of food material origin, and quality control of food and processing by principal component analysis and neural network analysis. Electronic nose could be useful for quality control in food industry when correlating analytical instrumental data with sensory evaluation results.

컴포넌트기반의 XML/EDI 시스템 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Component-Based XML/EDI System)

  • One of the important applications for business-to-business electronic commerce is in procurement and inventory management using electronic data interchange(EDI). Using online catalogs and approved supplier lists, firms can easily create requisitions and purchasing documents. The emerging trend in EDI technology is changed from VAN(Value Added Network) based EDI to XML based EDI. This paper intends to suggest a component-based XML/EDI system using Unified Modeling Language(UML), as an application system for automobile part industry. Applying component based XML/EDI systems designed with UML methodology, we analyzed the workflow and the document on procurement process between trading partners and implemented a prototype of efficient XML/EDI system, as a surrogate of existing VAN/EDI. The result of applying object-oriented CBD(Component Based Development) technique is to minimize the risk of life cycle and facilitate the reuse of software as mentioned to limitation of information engineering methodology. It enables the interoperability with corporate legacy systems such as ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning), SCM(Supply Chain Management). This system proposes a solution to apply analysis phase and design phase in implementation of XML/EDI system. The implementation of XML/EDI system using CBD shows the ease of use in software reuse and the interoperability with corporate internal information system. The purchasing department with XML/EDI system can electronically communicate purchase orders, delivery schedules to external suppliers and interoperate with other application systems.

전자사전 컴포넌트의 구현 (Component Implementation of Electronic Dictionary)

  • 사무자동화의 필요성이 증가함에 따라 많은 응용 프로그램이 개발되고 있으며, 전자사전은 이러한 사무용 프로그램의 주요 구성요소 중 하나이다. 효율적인 전자사전은 빠른 검색을 지원해야 하며, 타 사전과 데이터 교환을 통해 사어 및 신조어에 대처할 수 있어야 한다. 또한 전자 사전 프로그램 자체의 재사용의 고려하여 전자 사전 프로그램 구축비용 및 시간을 절감할 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 사전 내부 데이터 표현 형식을 정의하여 정의된 표현 방식에 기초한 타 전자 사전 데이터 교환을 가능하게 하는 방안을 제시하였다. 또한 재사용 및 호환성을 향상시키기 위하여 사전 구조를 시스템 사전 컴포넌트와 사용자 사전 컴포넌트로 나누어 구현하여 차후 바이너리 단위로의 재사용을 가능하게 하였다. 컴포넌트화로 인한 검색속도 저하 가능성은 트라이 및 B 트리 인덱스 구조를 통하여 효과적으로 방지하였다.
