  • As electronic commerce under the digital economy environment evolves rapidly affecting the structure of our economy and individual life styles, the need for metrics system to evaluate the performance of electronic commerce activities remarkably increases. Reviewing the characteristics of electronic commerce and some issues related to its measurement, this paper proposes a framework to measure the performance of electronic commerce business activities. the proposed framework customizes the balanced scorecard method for electronic commerce practices and can be applied effectively to electronic commerce businesses as an appropriate measure.

  • Advances in information and telecommunications technology are producing unprecedented shifts in the way businesses conduct their business, Today, electronic commerce is becoming pervasive due to, in large part, the widespread use of Internet and Worldwide Web. One element that plays an important role in shaping the success of electronic commerce is the electronic payment system. Deficiency in its reliability and security may lead to unwanted outcomes, including economic losses and customer dissatisfaction. By far, numerous forms of electronic payment systems have been introduced in the virtual marketplace. However, there exists little research that has focused on the characteristics of the electronic payment systems such that they may be compared with one another. This article is aimed at providing a framework for comparative analysis of electronic payment systems, examining the characteristics of the individual payment systems, and suggesting a choice strategy which enables a firm to select an appropriate payment system suited to their business needs. The framework classifies electronic payment systems into four categories including electronic cash, electronic checks, credit cards, and smart cards, and it can be employed in planning for an electronic commerce system.

  • An electronic commerce model is proposed which distributes digital content in mobile environment. This model resolves the problems caused by various digital content and complex distribution structure. The online distribution systems under the wireless environment include many different factors from the conventional offline and wired networks. Furthermore, the multimedia content may be propagated more easily and illegally. The scheme to protect the rights and profits of people related to the copyrights of digital content is needed. In this paper a framework for electronic commerce of content distribution under the wireless environment based on MPEG-21 is proposed. This model can be applied to the digital rights management system and utilized to protect the rights of trading entities in online distribution of electronic commerce.

  • With the recent trends of electronic commerce moving from B2C to B2B, Collaborative Product Commerce (CPC) is widely adopted as a part of B2B in the virtual collaborative environment. This paper proposes an integrated CPC framework supporting collaborative works between businesses by sharing product data and collaborative process between global enterprises and their customers, who are related to product life cycle, and integrating application systems in order to realize a true B2B electronic commerce. To integrate into a loosely coupled structure, various web service technologies such as XML, SOAP, WSDL and UDDI are utilized as its fundamentals and on that basis, a CPC integration framework is implemented through the Internet to support real-time operation providing interoperability among all the different applications operated on various platforms which have been developed using different languages and adopted by different companies.

  • Today, information society is affected by new technologies including Electronic Commerce(EC), Electronic Data Interchange(EDI), Commerce At Light Speed(CALS ), multimedia and teleconferencing. Electronic Commerce is believed to be a field that will bring about a huge revolution of human life in the 21st century and thus its industry will give greatly influential effect on other industries In this paper, we have surveyed and studied through the internet and related materials for the development of framework of Electronic Commerce. It is required that we need the leading role of our government for the earlier activation of Electronic Commerce usage and have to establish the solid background of EC technology creation of our nation's originality and to activate the venture industry oriented for idea and technology rather than the industries in the form of larger enterprises. In conclusion, we have to expand our own ability of research and development to keep the continuous growth of our Electronic Commerce market and industries through the development of new product and prior acquisition of market as well as to expand the path of various technology aquisition by the strategic M&A and capital investment with the leading foreign enterprises.

  • It is needed to search the electronic commerce standardization and to analysis its policies to meet the international situations strategically and forecast the technology surroundings for electronic commerce. This study aims at searching the current state of electronic commerce standardization and analyzing policies on electronic commerce by the driving subject, that is, government and private organization, major countries, and standard classifications of electronic commerce technologies such as e-documents, e-catalog, e-payment, and e-process. The government and private organizations get information for the current state and policies for standardization on electronic commerce and put them practical use to make policies and strategy applications.

  • As the information technology advances and the number of internet users increase, the electronic commerce has been discussed actively in the academic and industrial circles. Though the reference model is important as a guide to the study on electronic commerce at this time, current studies on the reference model are inclined to emphasize on the specified area, not on overall area. In this respect, this paper aims to provide the synthetic reference model - named the ECGR model(Electronic Commerce Generic Reference model) - and its application plans. First, for these purposes, several frameworks and reference models of electronic commerce are compared and analyzed from the various viewpoints. Second, several factors for the development of the reference model are proposed. Finally, the ECGR model is developed and its application plans are suggested. The ECGR model provides a conceptual and analytical apparatus to interpret the profound understanding of electronic commerce and presents the fundamental framework related to the electronic commerce projects. According to the expansion of electronic commerce and the development of related information technology, the ECGR model must be modified.

  • The terms electronic trade, electronic trading and electronic commerce are often used interchangeably, and refer to trading transactions conducted using electronic media. Electronic trade is business-to-business transactions in an industrial context, while electronic commerce refers to retailing and the consumer sector as well as mass marketing. The Electronic trade process is defined as a flow of information (documents) exchanged between enterprises and trade-related firms (shipping companies, foreign exchange banks, forwarders, etc.) in the course of implementing a series of export and import procedures. Electronic trading systems exploit information technology to improve the efficiency of communications and/or to alter the nature of inter-organizational transactions. Many studies exist about the adoption of inter-organizational systems (IOS) and electronic data interchange (EDI), but few focus on electronic trade. The literature on exporting companies's electronic trade adoption and implementation, although extensive, consists mainly of exploratory studies focusing on technological characteristics such as barriers, benefits and usage. The purpose of this study is to broaden this perspective by investigating the environmental, organizational and technological drivers of business-to-business e-commerce adoption.

  • EC(Electronic Commerce) reduces the middle love of business process and makes the gap doser between suppliers and consumers. EC also makes it possible to products and much more satisfaction to consumers reducing costs. Thus when we study EC, we need to consider business side of EC as well as its technical side. With that point, this study classifies the business factors of EC systematically. This study does not enumerate bits of the factors but present a business technology framework to analyze the mutual relations among the factors.

  • It is only 9 to 10 years since the use of internet became commercial. But electronic commerce is now a familiar form of commercial transaction. Though the ratio of electronic commerce compared to total commercial transaction is still low, it is certain that electronic commerce will be the major form of transactions in the future. In July 1, 1997, United States made a public "A Framework for Global Electronic Commerce" to set up Internet to be a duty free zone and declared to play the trigger role in getting the international discussion of "A Framework for Global Electronic Commerce". In July 8, 1997, EU also adopted "Bonn Declaration"-minimizing government regulations and imposing no new tax on electronic commerce. Focusing the international trend, we need to develop the tax policy that is suitable for our country situation as soon as we can. To be able to do that, we must make an endless effort like selecting professionals, making new administrative part and supporting the research.
