  • In this paper we have evaluated the synthetic speech quality by the proposed TD-PCULI speech synthesis method. For the synthesis we have extracted parameters from the Korean monosyllables through the analysis of speech waveforms in the time domain. We have constructed the Korean data format dictionary for the synthesis-by-rule depending upon the frequencies of the Korean pronunciation large vocabulary dictionary, in which V type syllables are 19, CV type's are 80, VC type's are 30 and CVC type's are 100. And using them we have synthesized various Korean monosyllables, words and sentences. We have tested each 10 syllables selected according to the 4 Korean syllable types with the objective MOS(Mean Opinion Score) evluation method about the 4 items i.e., intelligibility, clearness, loudness, and naturality after selecting random group without the knowledge of them. And also we have tested the possibility to modify a duration and F0 into another forms with changing a duration (i.e., 150msec, 300msec, 500msec, 700msec and 1sec) and a central fundamental frequency(i.e., 80Hz, 118Hz, 140Hz, 170Hz, and 200Hz). As the results of experiments the noises occurred in the course of synthesizing the speech by the rules are removed to be a very clear level and we can find that the prosodic elements can be controled as a good condition.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel method to recover images corrupted by impulse noise. The proposed method uses two stages: noise detection and filtering. In the first stage, we use pixel values, rank-ordered logarithmic difference values, and median values to train a neural-network-based impulse noise detector. After training, we apply the network to detect noisy pixels in images. In the next stage, we use group-based weighted couple sparse representation to filter the noisy pixels. During this second stage, conventional methods generally use only clean pixels to recover corrupted pixels, which can yield unsuccessful dictionary learning if the noise density is high and the number of useful clean pixels is inadequate. Therefore, we use reconstructed pixels to balance the deficiency. Experimental results show that the proposed noise detector has better performance than the conventional noise detectors. Also, with the information of noisy pixel location, the proposed impulse-noise removal method performs better than the conventional methods, through the recovered images resulting in better quality.

  • Aiming at the problem that the Local Sparse Difference Index algorithm has low accuracy and low efficiency when detecting target anomalies in a hyperspectral image, this paper proposes a Weighted Collaborative Representation and Sparse Difference-Based Hyperspectral Anomaly Detection algorithm, to improve detection accuracy for a hyperspectral image. First, the band subspace is divided according to the band correlation coefficient, which avoids the situation in which there are multiple solutions of the sparse coefficient vector caused by too many bands. Then, the appropriate double-window model is selected, and the background dictionary constructed and weighted according to Euclidean distance, which reduces the influence of mixing anomalous components of the background on the solution of the sparse coefficient vector. Finally, the sparse coefficient vector is solved by the collaborative representation method, and the sparse difference index is calculated to complete the anomaly detection. To prove the effectiveness, the proposed algorithm is compared with the RX, LRX, and LSD algorithms in simulating and analyzing two AVIRIS hyperspectral images. The results show that the proposed algorithm has higher accuracy and a lower false-alarm rate, and yields better results.

  • Objective: This study explored the reuse of data captured into an electronic nursing record system using the International Classification for Nursing Practice to support nursing research of inpatient's falls. Methods: Risk factors relevant to inpatients falls ;n an acute setting were identified from the literature review. Four risk assessment tools and two risk identification studies were selected. To examine the availability of coded data in an electronic nursing record system for the identified fall fisk factors, we reviewed 11.319 hospital-day records of 118 patients who were reported by the self-report system. Results: We identified 24 fall risk factors of five categories from the literature review, which were used to identify the standard nursing statements addressing fall risks. One hundred thirty five nursing statements were searched from the hospital's nursing data dictionary of statements and were matched with 14 fall fisk factors. Using the 135 statements. we found that mental status, catheter of drip in situ, abnormal gait, insomnia, surgical procedure. and dizziness/vertigo appeared frequently in the nursing records of inpatients with fall s. Also we found 6 risk factors more through the record review. Conclusion: The electronic records would be a good research source for inpatients' falls. Specifically international classification for nursing practice based nursing record system has the potential for promoting clinical researches.

  • This paper deals with the improvement of the synthesized speech quality and naturality in the Korean TTS(Text-to-Speech) system. We had extracted the parameters(table2) such as its amplitude, duration and pitch period in a syllable through the analysis of speech waveforms(table1) in the time domain and synthesized syllables using them. To the frequencies of the Korean pronunciation large vocabulary dictionary we had synthesized speeches selected 229 syllables such as V types are 19, CV types are 80. VC types are 30 and CVC types are 100. According to the 4 Korean syllable types from the data format dictionary(table3) we had tested each 15 syllables with the objective MOS(Mean Opinion Score) evaluation method about the 4 items i.e., intelligibility, clearness, loudness, and naturality after selecting random group without the knowledge of them. As the results of experiments the qualities of them are very clear and we can control the prosodic elements such as durations, accents and pitch periods (fig9, 10, 11, 12).

  • The opinion mining technique which analogize significant information from SNS message is increasingly important because opinions communicated through SNS are increasing. This paper propose SEIAS(SNS Emotional Information Analysis Strategy) based on opinion mining that analogize emotional information from SNS setting a different weight according to position of antonym and adverb. Firstly, the proposed SEIAS constructs a emotion dictionary for opinion mining analysis, Secondly, it collects SNS data on real time, compare it with emotion dictionary and calculates opinion value of SNS data. Specially, it increases the precision of opinion analysis result compared to the existing SO-PMI because it sets up the different value according to the position of antonym and adverb when it calculates the opinion value of data.

  • In this paper we have proposed the sign language transformation system for deaf based on a morpheme analysis. The proposed system extracts phoneme components and connection informations of the input character sequence by using a morpheme analysis. And then the sign image obtained by component analysis is correctly and automatically generated through the sign image database. For the effective sign language transformation, the language description dictionary which consists of a morpheme analysis part for analysis of input character sequence and sign language description part for reference of sign language pattern is costructed. To avoid the duplicating sign language pattern, the pattern is classified a basic, a compound and a similar sign word. The computer simulation shows the usefulness of the proposed system.

  • In harsh environments such as fog or fine dust, the cameras' detection ability for object recognition may significantly decrease. In order to accurately obtain important information even in bad weather, fog removal algorithms are necessarily required. Research has been conducted in various ways, such as computer vision/data-based fog removal technology. In those techniques, estimating the amount of fog through the input image's depth information is an important procedure. In this paper, a linear model is presented under the assumption that the image dark channel dictionary, saturation ∗ value, and sharpness characteristics are linearly related to depth information. The proposed method of haze removal through a linear model shows the superiority of algorithm performance in quantitative numerical evaluation.
