  • E-commerce is a relatively new but rapidly developing industry and global phenomenon. Uzbekistan, as developing country, has recognized that strong economic development is associated with the adoption and development of e-commerce industry. In this regard, the present study identifies the main facilitators of e-commerce in a developing country and provides some important implications. Four rounds of the Delphi method conducted for a survey involving a panel of experts from various organizations associated with e-commerce, indicate a total of 24 items representing five facilitating factors. The results indicate no significant differences among factors reflecting technology infrastructure, the legal environment/support, the industry environment, and business organizations and suggest that technology infrastructure, the legal environment/support, and the industry environment are more important facilitators of e-commerce than the economic and political environment. The results have important practical and theoretical implications.

  • This study models the operational competence of mobile service providers as an endogenous factor that presumably impacts the mobile commerce (m-commerce) adoption of consumers and examines the relationship between the perceptions of consumers toward the operational performance of m-commerce providers and their m-commerce adoption likelihood. Quantitative research is applied with data collected from wireless Internet consumers in South Korea. The data is analyzed using factor analysis and structural equation modeling methods. The findings suggest that the operational competence of m-commerce providers is a significant antecedent to the m-commerce use and adoption of consumers in Korea. In this environment, the operational competence of mobile service providers in managing facilities, equipment, systems and technology plays a central role in enhancing m-commerce use and adoption. Based on the results, important managerial implications are discussed.

  • Many markets are forecast to see significant changes due to the growth of electronic commerce made possible by the internet. The way of doing business with internet affects the market mechanism. It is now over 10 years since Malone et al(1987) set out their hypothesis on electronic markets, and electronic hierarchies. An electronic market is an interorganizational information system through which multiple buyers and sellers interact to accomplish one or more of the following market-making activities. And they predicted that markets evolve toward electronic markets, by reducing search cost, which may result in significantly. higher price competition among sellers and therefore lower prices for buyers. And the degree of two factors; asset specificity and uncertainty, affect the market mechanism. Products with low asset specificity and low uncertainty are compatible with a market relationship while the greater the asset specificity and uncertainty, the more likely it is to favour a hierarchical structure. Based on the these researches, we observed and analyzed a case study of market mechanism in Internet business. We found the fact that even though Internet could make the business environment in which lots of buyers and suppliers participate, electronic market will evolve market mechanism. 1 analyzed two factors, which affected market evolution. First, When Asset specificity is low in electronic commerce, market structure should be preferred to hierarchical structure. Second, When transaction uncertainty is low in electronic commerce, market structure should be preferred In hierarchical structure. This research covers conceptual and empirical aspects on electronic market structure. Future research should be variously done about the influential factors of electronic market mechanism.
