  • In this paper, the transient electromagneti wave scattering at dielectric cylinder is studied by new numerical analysis method. Basic formulation of boundary integral equation (BIE) for numerical method is started weighted residual technique. BIE is made to two simultaneous equation at surface inner and outside point of dielectric cylinder in extended boundary condition (EBC) and surface boundary condition (SBC). Numerical method is used Boundary element method (BEM) that is two form, one is direct method and the other is indirect method, so that this method that transformes operator inversion martics is used numerical analysis. A good agreement of this numerical solution and the other results is obtained.

  • The scattering property of TMz illuminated perfectly conducting and dielectric cylinders of arbitrary cross section are analyzed by the boundary element techniques. The boundary element equations are formulated via Maxwell’s equations, weighted residual or Green’s theorem, and the boundary conditions. The unknown surface fields on the boundaries are then calculated by the boundary element integral equations. Once the surface fields are found, the scattered fields in from a perfectly conducting circular and elliptic cylinders, a dielectric circular and elliptic cylinders are numerically analyzed. A general computer program has been developed using the quadratic elements(higher order boundary elements) and the Gaussian quadrature.

  • In this paper, H-polarized electromagnetic scattering problems by a resistive strip grating over a grounded dielectric plane according to the strip width and grating period, the relative permittivity and thickness of a dielectric layer, and incident angles of a TE (transverse electric) plane wave are analyzed by applying the FGMM (Fourier-Galerkin Moment Method). The tapered resistivity of resistive strips in this paper varies from finite resistivity at one edge to zero resistivity at the other edge, then the induced surface current density on the resistive strip is expanded in a series of Jacobi polynomials of the order ${\alpha}=1$, ${\beta}=0$ as a kind of orthogonal polynomials. The numerical results of the normalized reflected power show in good agreement with those of existing papers.

  • In this paper, the solutions of TE(transverse electric) scattering problems by a resistive strip grating over a grounded dielectric layer are analyzed by applying the PMM(point matching method) known as a numerical method of electromagnetic fileld. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients and the resistive boundary condition is used for the relationship between the tangential magnetic field and the induced surface current density on the resistive strip. The induced surface current density of resistive strip is obtained by difference of the up and down of the magnetic field in two boundary areas of the resistive strip. The numerical results for reflected power of zeroth order mode analyzed by according as the resistivity, the width and spacing of resistive strip, the relative permittivity and thickness of dielectric layer, and incident angles. The numerical results shown in good agreement compared to those of the existing papers using FGMM(fourier galerkin moment method).

  • Most of the spatial scattered dose caused by the scattered rays generated by the collision between the object and X-rays is relatively easily absorbed by the human body as electromagnetic waves in the low energy region, thereby increasing the degree of radiation exposure. Such spatial scattering dose is also used as an indicator of the degree of radiation exposure of radiation workers and patients, and there is a need for a method to reduce exposure by reducing the spatial scattered dose that occurs indirectly. Therefore, in this study, a lead-free radiation shielding sheet was proposed as a way to reduce the spatial scattering dose, and a Monte Carlo (MC) simulation was performed based on a chest X-ray examination. The absorbed dose was calculated and the measured value and the shielding rate were compared and evaluated.

  • In this paper, TE(transverse electric) scattering problems by a conductive strip grating between a double dielectric layer are analyzed by applying the FGMM(Fourier-Galerkin moment method) known as a numerical method of electromagnetic fileld. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients, and the conductive boundary condition is applied to analysis of the conductive strip. The numerical results for the normalized reflected and transmitted power are analyzed by according as the width and spacing of conductive strip, the relative permittivity and thickness of the double dielectric layers, and incident angles. Generally, as the value of the dielectric constant increases, the reflected power increases and the transmitted power decreases, respectively. As the dielectric constant increases, the current density induced in the strip increases as it goes to both strip ends. The numerical results for the presented structure of this paper are shown in good agreement compared to those of the existing papers.

  • A methodology for the identification and coordinates estimation of air cavities under urban ground or sandy soil using its natural poles and natural resonant frequencies is presented. The potential of this methodology was analyzed. Simulation models of PEC (Perfect Electric Conductor)s with various shapes and dimensions were developed using an EM (Electromagnetic) simulator. The Cauchy method was applied to the obtained EM scattering response of various objects from EM simulation models. The natural poles of objects corresponding to its instinct characterization were then extracted. Thus, a library of poles can be generated using their natural poles. The generated library of poles provided the possibility of identifying a target by comparing them with the computed natural poles from a target. The simulation models were made assuming that there is an air cavity under urban ground or sandy soil. The response of the desired target was extracted from the electromagnetic wave scattering data from its simulation model. The coordinates of the target were estimated using the time delay of the impulse response (peak of the impulse response) in the time domain. The MP (Matrix Pencil) method was applied to extract the natural poles of a target. Finally, a 0.2-m-diameter spherical air cavity underground could be estimated by comparing both the pole library of the objects and the calculated natural poles and the natural resonant frequency of the target. The computed location (depth) of a target showed an accuracy of approximately 84 to 93%.

  • In this paper, a high power tuneable resonator for a wireless power transfer system based on magnetic resonance is proposed. A spiral structure is used for a self-resonant coil and tuneable trimmer capacitors are added at the edges of resonant coils such that the frequency can be easily tuned. 3D simulation tools and equivalent circuit modeling method are used for predicting self-resonant frequency and scattering parameters according to the change of capacitor values. From the measurement of the prototype WPT system, the resonant frequency could be controlled from 3.0 MHz to 4.5 MHz and the transmission efficiency way over 50 % when the distance between transmitting coil and receiving coil was 160 mm.

  • The performance of radars operated near an offshore wind farm region may be degraded due to the distorted signals by wind turbines. This degradation of radar systems includes ghost effects and doppler effects by a tower, nacelle, and turbine blades consisting of the wind turbine. In this paper, electromagnetic wave backscatterings from a offshore wind turbine are numerically simulated in terms of temporal radar cross section and radar cross section spectra, using a quasi-static approach based on physical optics and physical theory of diffraction. The simulations are carried out at 3.05 GHz for the seven yaw angles and four blade pitch angles. From the results, radar cross section values and doppler effect as turbine blades rotate are investigated.
