The Optimization Grounding Analysis for Soil Resistivity (대지저항률에 따른 최적화 접지 해석)

  • The electric safety tends to be more important according to electric facilities's increase and its use in these days. This paper analyzes soil resistivity of two areas in the country using CDEGS(Current Distribution, Electromagnetic Interference, Grounding and Soil Structure, Canada). We designed rod and mesh grounding system and made a comparative study of ground resistance, GPR(Main Electrode Potential Rin), step voltage and touch voltage. Then we could analyz only the safety but also economical efficiency in elocution of grounding. As a result of simulation, ground resistance, GPR(Main Electrode Potential Rise), step voltage and touch voltage became higher in proportion to soil resistivity. Therefore we expect to estimate the propriety of grounding system design through accumulation and analysis of data in consideration of characteristics of soil.

  • In this paper approves AC high voltage by experimental GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear) chamber and AC 300[kV] power source to study breakdown characteristics by pressure(P) change and change of electrode distance(d) at AC high voltage of Imitation Air(I-Air, $N_2$ : $O_2$ = 79[%] : 21[%]) to alternate $SF_6$ and achieved research.   • The route of surge arrester connection is very important because bends and kinds of leads increase the impedance to lightning surges and tend to nullify the effectiveness of a grounding electrode conductor. There is a need to know how effective installation of lightning surge arresters is made in order to control voltage and to absorb energy at high lightning currents. The effectiveness of a grounding conductor and bonding for 18[kV] metal oxide distribution line arresters was experimentally investigated with lightning and oscillating impulse voltages.

  • Out of the defects occurred in a transformer, the cases of protrusion and surface discharge were simulated by using needle-plane and IEC(B) electrode. The waveform and frequency characteristics of ultrasonic signals due to partial discharge occurred at each electrode were analyzed. And then, the ultrasonic signal characteristics from the partial discharge due to the two kinds of defect were compared. As a result, in the case of the protrusion and surface discharge, the waveforms were similar, but the frequency spectra were different.

  • In this study, an experiment on the efficient construction method of plate electrodes, the influence of electric potential interference in plate electrodes, and building foundations were explored. The experimental result of the electric potential measurement was taken on the basis of the direction of movement and the condition in which the plate electrodes are laid underground in building foundations. It shows that the construction method of laying the plate electrodes vertically exhibits a more efficient reduction of electric potential in a diagonal direction and on an X axis than laying plates horizontally. For plate electrode construction in an area that has uniform conditions, the parallel joint construction method is more effective than a single construction to reduce earth electrical potential and ground resistance. In addition, a straight arrangement performs well in ground efficiency, compared to the parallel arrangement.

  • In this work, two approaches were proposed for the recognition of partial discharge patterns. The first approach was neural network with backpropagation algorithm, and the second approach was angle calculation between t재 operator vectors. PD signals were detected using three electrode systems; IEC(b), needle-plane and CIGRE method II electrode system. Both of neural network and angle comparison method showed good recognition performance for the patterns similar to the trained patterns. And the number of operators to be used had a great influence on the recognition performance to the untrained patterns.

  • In contrast to the conventional trigatron switch in which the currents are constricted by the z-pinch mechanical the new switch operates in an inverse pinch geometry formed by a pair of spiral electrodes in a sealed-off type. Inverse pinch switch greatly reduces hot spot formations and protects the electrode surfaces. The switch can be initiated with an electrical trigger electrode. Advantages of the new switch over the conventional switches are longer useful life, high current capability and lower inductance due to the dispersed and moving current sheet. These improved characteristics may make the inverse pinch switch suitable for pulse power systems.

  • This paper deals with the assessment of potential interference between individual grounding electrodes using an Electrolytic Tank Modeling method. When a test current was passed through a grounding electrode, potential rise was measured and analyzed using an electrolytic tank in real time. In order to analyze the potential interference between grounding electrodes, a reduced scale modeling method was studied. Potential interference between isolated grounding electrodes was evaluated as a function of the separation distance between grounding electrodes and the configuration of grounding electrode to be induced. It was found that the separation distance between grounding electrodes was a major factor in reducing the potential interference.

  • In this paper, we carried out an comparative analysis on ground impedance of single copper-, three linked copper- and single carbon- electrodes by the application of various current sources such as sine, square, and surge with fast risetime. Impedance of single-copper electrode was the highest among them and was affected as the amplitude and the frequency of applied current. However, impedance characteristics of the three linked copper- and the single carbon- electrodes showed a similar tendency.

  • This paper deals with the transient ground impedance of small-sized needle-rod installed in a test field, Impulse voltage generator was used to inject lightning impulse on a ground electrode and modified fall-of potential method was proposed to measure the high ground potential rise. Transient ground impedance was analysed with impedance curve and I-V curve as respects the resistivity of soil. Soil ionization near the ground electrode is activated in high resistivity soil and have an effect on the reduction of transient ground impedance significantly.
