박막형 전기변색 소자 특성 연구

  • 박막형 전기변색 소자의 특성파악을 위하여, 투명전극층으로 ITO를 이용하였으며, 가장 우수한 전기변색 특성을 나타내는 것으로 알려져 있는 $WO_3$를 DC magnetron sputtering방식을 이용하여 증착하였으며, 무기전해질층은 E-beam evaporation 방식으로 증착하고, 이온저장층을 제외한 박막형 전기변색 소자 구조를 제작하여 전기변색층의 증착조건에 따른 전기변색 소자 특성 연구를 수행하였다. 증착온도와 혼합gas의 분합비 등의 조건의 변화를 통한 박막 특성을 확인하였으며, XRD, SEM, TEM, Transmission Measurement 등을 이용하여 박막 분석을 하였다. ITO층의 저항에 따른 변색효율을 확인하였으며, $WO_3$층의 산소분합비에 따른 투과율변화를 분석하였다. 이온저장층을 제거한 상태에서의 박막형 전기변색 소자의 투과율변화가 가시광선 영역에서 45%의 변색효과를 확인하였다.

  • Cobalt oxide has excellent various properties such as high catalytic activity, antiferromagnetism, and electrochromism. So cobalt oxides offer a great potential for their applications in the various areas such as optical gas sensor, catalysts for oxidation reaction, electrochromic devices, high temperature solar selective absorbers, magnetic materials, pigment for glasses and ceramics, and negative electrodes for lithium-ion batteries. We have synthesized novel cobalt complexes by simple reaction of cobalt bistrimethylsilylamide as a starting material with a lot of conventional ligands as potential cobalt oxide precursors. The studies include the facile preparation, structural characterization, and spectroscopic analysis of the new precursors. We are making efforts to grow cobalt oxide thin films using cobalt complexes newly synthesized in this study using deposition techniques.

  • We have investigated the optical and electrochromic properties of molybdenum oxide(MoO$_3$) films by thermal evaporation. The MoO$_3$films deposited at substrate temperatures below 200$^{\circ}C$ are found to be amorphous and annealed films at temperature 300$^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour in air are crystalline. The optical energy gap calculated from the transmittance and reflectance spectra of MoO$_3$ films is near 2.75 eV and 3.25 eV for amorphous films and crystalline films, respectively. The MoO$_3$ thin films exhibit light blue to dark blue optical modulation on lithium intercalation and have a uniform transmittance modulation over a wavelength range of 300∼1100 nmcompared to tungsten oxide films.

  • Electrochemical properties of self-dopable poly(aniline N-butylsulfonate)s in various acidic medium were investigated by spectroelectrochemical techniques. Cyclic voltammetric study showed more than two reversible process of one electron transfer, the potential and peak intensity of which were dependent on the acid concentration and dopant ion. Spectroscopic study at different oxidation level indicated that the electrochromic switching of the poly(aniline N-alkylsulfonate)s film involves structural changes from benzenoid ring to quinoid ring. Spectrocyclic voltammetry together with impedance spectra of the PANBUS film in 0.1 M $LiClO_4$ solution of acetonitrile containing 0.46 M of perchloric acid showed two types of highly conductive states at the intermediate oxidation levels, which can be related to the metallic polaron states doped by two different process.

  • $TiO_2$는 내구성이 뛰어난 전기변색재료로 연구가 이루어 지고 있다. 큰 굴절율로 인해 높은 투과율을 보이는 $TiO_2$는 변색시 치밀한 구조를 가지기 때문에 전해질 양이온의 침입이 힘들어 변색효율이 $WO_3$에 비해 좋지 않다. 이를 개선하고자 작업압력을 변화시켜 기판에 입사하는 입자의 에너지를 줄임으로써 확산을 줄이고 Porous한 막을 얻고자 하였다. 작업압력이 높아짐에 따라 표면의 거칠기가 커지는 것을 확인하였고 전기변색시 효율이 커지는 것을 확인하였다.

  • The photosensitive spiroxazine compound and the electrosensitive viologen compound were prepared to examine their practical application feasibilities and behaviors. These dyes represent corresponding chromism effects related to their own characteristics of the dye molecules. Thus, the prepared dyes were characterized and their absorption spectra were also investigated. Besides, an interest on direct spiroxazine exhaustion to the polyamide substrates and its photochromic effects within the fiber molecules were determined. The photochromic reaction on the substrates was clearly observed and its reversible decoloration behaviors responded.

  • The electrochromism of $WO_3$ and $V_2O_5$ thin films have been studied. The $WO_3$ thin film is found to be cathodic coloration material and the coloration efficiency of this film is close to $60 [cm^2/C]$ in the near infrared region. The $V_2O_5$ thin film exhibits cathodic coloration in tile near infrared and anodic coloration in the blue and near UV region. The cathodic coloration in the $450{\sim}1100 nm$ wavelength range is relatively weak with a maximum coloration efficiency of $6 [cm^2/C]$).

The influence of substrate temperature on the chemical stability of WO3Films prepared by electron beam deposition (기판온도가 전자비임으로 제작된 텅스텐 산화물박막의 화학적 안정성에 미치는 영향)

  • Electrochromic $WO_3$ films were prepared by using an electron-beam deposition method. The dependence of the chemical stability of film on the substrate temperature was studied. From the experimental results, The optical property and chemical stability of as-deposited films strongly depended on the substrate temperature. The $WO_3$ film prepared at a substrate temperature of $80^{\circ}C$ was found to be the most stable when subjected to repeated coloring and bleaching cycles in an organic 0.6M $LiClO_4$ solution.

  • 건축물의 유리창을 통하여 유입되는 태양광을 조절하여 냉난방 부하를 절감하고자 사용하는 스마트 윈도우 필름(Electrochromic (EC), Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC), Suspended Particle Display (SPD))의 방식이 있다. 이러한 스마트 윈도우 필름은 건물 외피에 적용할 때 여름철 태양으로부터 유입되는 열선 차폐만을 목적으로 유리를 완전히 불투명하게 가려버리는 것은 맑고 투명해야하는 창호의 기본적인 용도를 무시한 단편적 기술로서, 스마트 윈도우 필름을 작동하여 투명하게 할 경우 외부에서 열선이 유입되는 문제를 가지고 있다. 스마트 윈도우 필름을 만들 때 필수적으로 사용하는 전극필름으로 플렉서블 기판에 투명 전도막이 형성됨과 동시에 적외선만을 선택적으로 차단하는 기능을 가지는 필름을 제조하여 단열 성능 실험을 실시하였다. 아울러, 스마트 필름의 다양한 적용을 위한 발열 실험도 실시하였다.

Humidity-Sensitive Properties of Vanadium Oxide Thin Films on Sputtering Conditions (스퍼터링 조건에 따른 바나듐 산화막의 감습 특성)

  • Vanadium oxides have been widely used in a variety of technological applications such electrochromic devices as infrared detectors and are expected as a material suitable for gas sensing applications. Thin films of Vanadium oxide (VOx) have been deposited by r.f magnetron sputtering under different oxygen partial pressure ratios and substrate temperatures. Humidity-sensitive properties of resistive sensors having interdigitated electrode structure are characterized. Our sensors show good response to humidity over 20%RH to 80%RH. Vanadium oxide films deposited with 0% $O_2$ partial pressure at foot exhibit greater sensitivity to humidity change than others.
