  • Recently, researches about the eco-friendly vehicles such as hybrid electric vehicle, fuel cell vehicle and electric vehicle have been actively carried out. The regenerative braking system is a key technology to improve the vehicle energy utilization efficiency because it transforms the kinetic energy to the electric energy through the electric motor. This new braking system requires cooperative control between electric controlled brake and regenerative brake. Therefore, it is necessary to establish fault-diagnosis and fail-safe evaluation criteria to secure reliability of the regenerative braking system. In this paper, the failure types and causes in regenerative braking system were analyzed. The transient behavior characteristics were examined based on fault-diagnosis and fail-safe upon failure of regenerative braking system.

AMESim기반 피에조 인젝터용 해석모델의 민감도 특성 해석 (Analysis of Sensitivity Characteristics with AMESim Model for Piezo Injector)

  • Performance of DI diesel engine with high fuel injection method is directly related to the emission characteristics and fuel consumption. At present, diesel injection system with piezo element is replacing conventional solenoid type due to their faster electro-mechanical properties. In this study, it was investigated the sensitivity characteristics regarding internal hydraulic modeling based on the AMESim environment of piezo-driven injector The analytic parameter for this study defined such as In/Out orifice, injection hole's diameter and driven voltage on piezo stack. As the results, it was shown that these parameter influence on a fast response characteristics of piezo-driven injector. Also we found fuel pressure recovery time is faster about 0.1 ms due to larger IN orifice diameter. And larger OUT orifice diameter occurs maximum pressure drop with faster its timing of about 0.2 ms.

  • The complexity of macro-fiber composite (MFC) materials increasing the difficulty in simulation and analysis of MFC integrated structures. To give an accurate prediction of MFC bonded smart structures for the simulation of shape and vibration control, the paper develops a linear electro-mechanically coupled static and dynamic finite element (FE) models based on the first-order shear deformation (FOSD) hypothesis. Two different types of MFCs are modeled and analyzed, namely MFC-d31 and MFC-d33, in which the former one is dominated by the $d_{31}$ effect, while the latter one by the $d_{33}$ effect. The present model is first applied to an MFC-d33 bonded composite plate, and then is used to analyze both active shape and vibration control for MFC-d31/-d33 bonded plate with various piezoelectric fiber orientations.

  • This paper attempts to evaluate the accuracy and efficiency of a design optimization procedure by combining wavelets-based multi resolution analysis method and proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) technique. Aerodynamic design procedure calls for high fidelity computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulations and the consideration of large number of flow conditions and design constraints. Thus, even with significant computing power advancement, current level of integrated design process requires substantial computing time and resources. POD reduces the degree of freedom of full system by conducting singular value decomposition for various field simulations. In this research, POD combined Design Optimization model is proposed and its efficiency and accuracy are to be evaluated. For additional efficiency improvement of the procedure, multi resolution analysis method is also being employed during snapshot constructions (POD training period). The proposed design procedure was applied to the optimization of wing aerodynamic performance. Throughout the research, it was confirmed that the POD/MRA design procedure could significantly reduce the total design turnaround time and also capture all detailed complex flow features as in full order analysis.

진공청소기용 팬-모터 어셈블리의 시스템-레벨 분석 (System-level Analysis of a Fan-motor Assembly for Vacuum Cleaner)

  • A fan-motor assembly in a vacuum cleaner is analyzed through system-level analysis method. This system consisted of three components, a fan, motor, and the flow resistance of the motor, or of the vacuum cleaner. System-level analysis method is characterized by the combination of torque matching at a constant throttling condition between the fan and the motor and the pressure drop at a constant flow rate due to the flow resistance of the motor, or of the vacuum cleaner. The performance characteristics of the fan-motor assembly and the vacuum cleaner system could be predicted over the whole range of operation, based on the characteristics of each component. The predicted performance of the vacuum cleaner system through system-level analysis agreed well with the experimental results within 4.5% difference of pressure and 6% difference of the efficiency. The effect of flow resistance of a motor is investigated and it is found that the efficiency decrease of fan-motor assembly at the constant flow rate due to the flow resistance of a motor is determined by the flow resistance ratio(FRR), which is defined as a ratio of flow resistance of motor and the flow resistance of a constant throttling condition of a given point. The fan-motor assembly(S2 model) was modified to reduce the FRR from 9.0% to 2.4% and the experimental result shows that the efficiency of S2 model was improved by about 3% at best efficiency point.

  • 본 논문에서는 유한요소법을 기반으로 한 소프트웨어 COMSOL Multiphysics를 이용하여 압전 복합재료 작동기를 이용하여 제작한 무밸브 마이크로펌프의 성능을 연구하였다. 압전 마이크로펌프는 4층의 경량 압전 복합재료 작동기, PDMS으로 된 챔버와 2개의 디퓨저로 이루어졌다. 시뮬레이션에서는 압전 재료 영역, 구조 영역과 유체 영역을 완전 연성하여 해를 계산하였다. 물을 유체로 사용하였으며, 유량을 마이크로펌프의 구조적 파라미터에 대하여 계산하였다. 이 연구에 기초하여 보다 성능이 좋은 마이크로펌프를 제시하였다.

  • A user friendly computer code(EMCOMST; Electro-Magnetic response for COMposite STructures) was developed which provides with computations of the response characteristics such as reflectance and transmittance to the incident wave angles, frequencies, composite thicknesses, ply orientations, and types of backplate as the linearly polarized transverse electro-magnetic wave is emitted to the advanced composite structures. In this investigation were reviewed the electromagnetic characteristics of the continuous orthotropic fiber-reinforced organic matrix composites with or without ferrite fillers, which are actively applied to low-weight and high-strength aircraft structures. Also were calculated the response of the three layered compound structures which have appropriately stacked above-mentioned materials as transmitting layer, absorbing layer, reflection layer, respectively under the specific thickness constraints for mechanical strength design requirements. For the composite structures presented in this study, minimum reflectance value less than -5㏈ can be obtained in the frequency range of 4 to 12 ㎓. In addition, analysis of structures attached isotropic radar absorbing materials(RAM) is facilitated by putting the material properties in the material input card entries adequately.

매입형 영구자석 동기전동기를 적용한 전기기계식 제동장치의 비상제동 성능평가 (A Evaluation of Emergency Braking Performance for Electro Mechanical Brake using Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor)

  • 본 논문은 전기기계식제동장치(EMB : Electro Mechanical Brake, 이하 EMB)의 제동 압부력(clamping force) 제어방법과 제동시험장비(dynamo test equipment)를 활용한 제동성능 평가결과에 대하여 다룬다. EMB와 관련한 연구는 자동차 분야에서 대부분 수행되었으며, 다양한 제어방법에 대한 정적상태의 압부력 시험결과를 주로 다루고 있으나 본 논문은 동적상태에서의 성능평가를 수행하였다. EMB의 구동을 위해 3상 매입형 영구자석 동기전동기(IPMSM : Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, 이하 IPMSM)가 적용되었으며 유한요소법(FEM : Finite Element Method, 이하 FEM) 해석 소프트웨어인 JMAG을 통하여 설계 및 해석을 수행하였다. EMB의 압부력제어를 위해 전류제어, 속도제어 및 위치제어가 수행되었으며, 전류제어기는 단위전류당 최대토크제어(MTPA : Maximum Torque Per Ampere, 이하 MTPA)가 적용되었다. 제동성능평가는 공압식 제동장치의 비상제동 성능시험 절차와 동일한 방법으로 수행되었으며 시험장비에 설치된 고속철도차량의 차륜을 110 km/h, 230 km/h 및 300 km/h로 회전하는 상태에서 각각의 속도 조건에 따른 EMB의 제동 압부력을 인가하여 감속성능을 확인하였다. 최고속도(300 km/h) 상태에서 비상제동 시험결과는 73초의 시간이 소요되었으며 차세대고속철도차량(HEMU-430X)에 적용된 공압식 제동장치의 성능시험 결과와 비교를 통하여 제동소요 시간 및 감속패턴의 유사함 확인하였다.

1-3형 압전복합체의 전기-기계 결합성능에 대한 수치해석 (Numerical analysis for electro-mechanical coupling performance of 1-3 type Piezo-composite)

  • 본 연구에서는 1_3형 압전복합체(1-3 type piezo-composite)의 전기-기계적 성능을 수치적으로 분석하였다. PZT 세라믹스의 압전물성 계산치를 실험치와 비교하여 수치 해석방법의 정확성을 검증하였다. 그리고 구성재료의 부피 비 및 물성, PZT 기둥의 종 횡비(aspect ratio) 등이 복합체의 $k_t$특성에 미치는 영향을 해석하였다. 그 결과, PZT 부피 비가 30 vol%까지 증가함에 복합체의 $k_t$ 특성은 급격하게 증가하다가 그 이상의 영역에서는 일정한 값에 수렴한다. 그리고 상대적으로 유연한 폴리머를 사용한 복합체가 전반적으로 우수한 $k_t$ 특성을 갖는다. 또한 PZT 부피비가 30 % 이하인 경우, 복합체의 $k_t$ 특성은 PZT 기둥의 종횡 비에 많은 영향을 받는다. 그러므로 $k_t$ 특성 향상을 위해서는 상대적으로 유연한 폴리머 및 우수한 압전특성의 PZT를 사용하여 복합체를 구성하는 것이 유리하다.

  • This paper presents a new eigenvalue sensitivity analysis method based on AESOPS algorithm. The additional calculation steps are derived from the original AESOPS algorithm. The additional calculation steps are performed directly from the AESOPS algorithm after iteratively calculating electro-mechanical oscillation modes in small signal stability problems. Owing to the structural characteristics of partitioned sub-matrix of state space equations, the partial differentiation terms of system state matrix for obtaining eigenvalue sensitivity indices can be calculated very simply. By the method presented in this paper, the AESOPS algorithm can be used in controller design problem as well as analysis of small signal stability problem.
