  • Electro-Mechanical Actuator installed on aircraft consists of a decelerator which magnifies the torque to rotate an axis connected with aircraft control surface, a control section which controls the motor assembly through receiving orders from cockpit and a motor assembly which rotates the decelerator. EMA controls aircraft attitued, position, landing, takeoff, etc. It is important part of a aircraft. Aircraft maneuvering make vibration of EMA. Vibration may cause the vibration fatigue. For that reason, it is necessary to analyze the system safety. In this paper, first EMA is modeled in finite element method and analyzed the response from input vibration. second EMA is tested and analyzed from modal experimental data. third EMA Fe model is updated and re analyzed. and EMA is verified safety with $3{\sigma}$ stress and S/N curves.

Study on the Effect of Surface Finishing Methods on Pitting Corrosion Behavior of 304 Stainless Steel Alloy

  • In this study the effect of different surface finishing techniques on the pitting corrosion behaviour of a commercial 304 stainless steel alloy was investigated. Surface finishing methods were divided into two categories, i.e. mechanical and chemical. Mechanical treatment methods include power tooling such as grinding, emery paper brushing, stainless steel wire brushing and stainless steel shot blasting. Chemical treatment methods include chemical passivation (phosphoric acid, citric acid, nitric acid) and electro-cleaning (phosphoric acid and citric acid). Potentiodynamic polarization experiments were carried out in 3.5 wt. % NaCl solution at room temp. (20 $^{\circ}C$). The results showed that chemical treatment methods improved the corrosion resistance of stainless steel 304, measured in terms of pitting potential ($E_{pit}$). Corrosion resistance of the specimens was increased in the order of; electro-cleaning > manual passivation > mechanical cleaning. Surface of electro-cleaned specimens was smoother than rest of the surface treatment methods. Chrome content in chemically treated specimens was higher than in mechanically treated specimens as shown by EDX analysis.

  • A micro fluid actuator driven by electromagnetic force at MEMS(Micro Electro Mechanical System) level has been designed. The operation of the actuator was simulated in three steps. First, fluid flow analysis has been performed to determine the actuator load. With the load, dynamic behavior of the actuator structure has been analysed. Finally, fluid-structure interaction analysis has been performed to predict the performance of the actuator. To avoid excessive amount of computation, axisymmetric and plane strain 2-D models were used.

  • 기존의 평판형 전자기 엑츄에이터에 쇼티드 턴을 적용한 새로운 형태의 평판형 전자기 엑츄에이터를 제안하였다. 기존의 평판형 전자기 엑츄에이터에서 발생하는 인덕턴스에 의한 초기응답 지연현상을 줄이기 위해 본 논문에서는 기존의 엑츄에이터의 요크와 요크 사이에 중간요크(center yoke)를 추가하고, 쇼티드 턴을 적용한 새로운 형태의 평판형 전자기 엑츄에이터를 제안 하고, 상용 자기장 해석 프로그램인 MAXWELL을 이용한 시뮬레이션을 통해 동적 성능 향상을 검증 하였다.

  • Power devices for high power drivers that need high switching speed (IGCT, HVIGBT) have been continuously developed. However, serial and parallel connections using several much cheaper, lower power capacity of devices than an expensive high power device are very useful methods in the aspect of cost down and high power application. Even the current and voltage unbalance problem is occurred at each devices. This unbalance characteristics are mainly caused by the differences of physical characteristics of each devices and the line inductance (stray inductance) of bus bars that consist of current path. This paper deals simulation analysis of serial connection of IGCTs and parallel connection of IGCTs using physical model of devices. And also, introduces the method to reduce the voltage and current unbalance problem.

Static analysis of laminated piezo-magnetic size-dependent curved beam based on modified couple stress theory

  • Modified couple stress formulation and first order shear deformation theory are used for magneto-electro-elastic bending analysis of three-layered curved size-dependent beam subjected to mechanical, magnetic and electrical loads. The governing equations are derived using a displacement field including radial and transverse displacements of middle surface and a rotation component. Size dependency is accounted based on modified couple stress theory by employing a small scale parameter. The numerical results are presented to study the influence of small scale parameter, initial electric and magnetic potentials and opening angle on the magneto-electro-elastic bending results of curved micro beam.

풍력발전기용 밀폐형 변압기의 식물성 절연유에 대한 열적특성 연구 (Thermal Analysis of Vegetable Insulation Oil for Hermetically Sealed Wind Turbine Transformer)

  • 변압기 외부에 방열핀을 설치한 밀폐형 오일변압기는 절연유의 온도상승으로 인해 부피가 팽창할 경우 방열핀의 내부 부피가 확장되어 압력상승을 방지한다. 본 연구에서는 생분해도가 높아 환경친화적 이고, 인화점 및 발화점이 높아 화재의 위험도가 낮은 식물성 절연유를 이용하여 당사 풍력발전기에 적용할 밀폐형 오일변압기를 개발하였다. 열 유동 전산수치해석 기법을 이용하여 식물성 절연유 냉각성능을 광유 및 실리콘유와 비교 분석 하였으며, 밀폐형 오일변압기의 개발을 위하여 변압기 중신부의 열적 안전성을 확보하고 절연유의 온도변화에 따른 내부 압력변화에 대응이 가능한 팽창형 방열핀을 개발하였다. 추가로 온도상승시험을 통하여 수치해석 결과와 시험 결과를 비교 분석 하였으며, 식물성 절연유를 사용한 밀폐형 오일 변압기의 설계 고려사항을 도출하였다.

신뢰성을 갖는 MEMS 프로브 팁의 설계 및 특성평가 (Reliable design and characterization of MEMS probe tip)

  • The Probe Card is a test component which is to classify the good semiconductor chips before the packaging. The yield of semiconductor product can be better from analysis of probe test information. Recently the technology of the probe card needs narrow width and large amount of probe tip. In this research, the probe tip based on the MEMS(micro electro mechanical system) technology was designed and fabricated to improve the reliability of the test and to meet 2-dimensional Array of tip. The mechanical and electrical properties of proposed tip were evaluated and it has over 100,000 of repetition times in the condition of 5gf, $20{\mu}m$ Over Drive.

  • Recently, imprint lithography have received significant attention due to an alternative technology for photolithography on high performance microelectronic devices. In this work, we investigated thermal stabilities and dynamic mechanical properties of dielectric materials for thermal imprint lithography. Curing behaviours, thermal stabilities, and dynamic mechanical properties of the dielectric materials cured with various curing agent and spherical filler were studied using dynamic differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), rheometer and universal test machine(UTM).

Free vibration analysis of thick cylindrical MEE composite shells reinforced CNTs with temperature-dependent properties resting on viscoelastic foundation

  • The present study aims to analyze the magneto-electro-elastic (MEE) vibration of a functionally graded carbon nanotubes reinforced composites (FG-CNTRC) cylindrical shell. Electro-magnetic loads are applied to the structure and it is located on an elastic foundation which is simulated by visco-Pasternak type. The properties of the nano-composite shell are assumed to be varied by temperature changes. The third-order shear deformation shells theory is used to describe the displacement components and Hamilton's principle is employed to derive the motion differential equations. To obtain the results, Navier's method is used as an analytical solution for simply supported boundary condition and the effect of different parameters such as temperature variations, orientation angle, volume fraction of CNTs, different types of elastic foundation and other prominent parameters on the natural frequencies of the structure are considered and discussed in details. Design more functional structures subjected to multi-physical fields is of applications of this study results.
