Contingency Analysis of Transient Stability Using Eigen-Sensitivity (고유치감도를 이용한 과도안정도의 상정사고 해석법의 개발)

  • This paper presents a new method for contingency selection of the transient stability. Contingency ranking in transient stability is done by estimating the change in the imaginary part of electro-mechanical oscillation mode, which represents modal synchronizing coefficient. And the change in the imaginary part is obtained by applying eigen-sensitivity theory of augmented matrix to linear system model. The Proposed algorithm was tested for New England System and compared the results with PSS/E dynamic simulation.

  • For controlling micro-flows inside a LOC (lab-on-a-chip) a syringe pump or an electronic device for EOF(electro-osmotic flow) have been used in general. However, these devices are so large and heavy that they are burdensome in the development of a portable micro-TAS (total analysis system). In this study, a new flow control system employing pressure chambers, digital switches and speed controllers was developed. This system could effectively control the micro-scale flows inside a LOC without any mechanical actuators or electronic devices We also checked the feasibility of this new control system by applying it to a LOC of micro-mixer type. Performance tests show that the developed control system has very good performance. Because the flow rate in LOC is controlled easily by throttling the speed controller, the flows in complicate microchannels network can be also controlled precisely.

  • This paper describes the characteristic of hinges on which a lever pivots within a limited angle due to the torque. The hinges are exerted by the thermally expanded actuators connected with a level through hinges. To enhance the stroke of inchworm actuator, FEM(Finite Element Method) was utilized for the characterization in view of stress displacement according to the variation of notch radius and notch width. As a result, notch width of the hinges plays an important part in improvement of micro inchworm actuator.

  • Electroosmotic flow induced by an applied electrostatic potential field in microchannel is analyzed in this study. The electroosmotic flow is an alternative to pressure driven flow in microchannels, but the usage has been limited to the simple cases. In this study, We analyze electroosmotic flow driven by inhomogeneous surface charge on the channel wall. The surface charge varies along a direction perpendicular to the electric field in order to generate the electroosmotic flow. A numerical results substantiate the highly efficient mixing performance. It is highly the beneficial to fabrication process since only straight microchannel rather than complex geometry is enough to yield efficient mixing.

  • This paper describes an application of sliding mode control to an active magnetic bearing(AMB) system. A sliding mode control is robust to model uncertainties and external disturbances. To ensure the authority of sliding mode control, model parameter uncertainties caused from linearization of electro-magnetic attractive force are analyzed and a domain of parameter uncertainties in which reachability to sliding surface is guaranteed is derived. The validity of the analysis is illustrated along with some simulation examples.

  • The operation of wheel-loader is mainly divided into steering and excavating. The existing wheel-loader is used by handle for steering operation and by joystic for excavating operation. When we do steering and excavating operation simultaneously, we feel so uncomfortable because we have to use handle and joystic simultaneously. Therefore, we need to develop eletro-joystic steering system instead of hydraulic-handle steering system. So we can improve driving convenience in industrial field. This paper analyze spool of steering wheel and joystic and drive open area diagram. As a result, we can know characteristics of each valve before developing new electro-joystic steering system for wheel-loader.

Scattering analysis of laser beam drilling in porous ceramic materials (극초단 레이저를 이용한 기공성 세라믹 드릴링시 발생하는 레이저빔 산란해석)

  • Laser beam can be either absorbed or scattered in porous ceramic material and its optical characteristics need to be understood. Electro-magnetic multiphysics software was used to simulate and understand the actual scattering phenomena in porous materials. 785nm femtosecond laser was irradiated on the surface of ceramic material and strong scattering occurred in drilling process. The computer results showed the scattering and absorption phenomena of Aluminum oxide were a mixture of dielectric and metallic material. The computer simulation showed the laser beam was almost extinct at the aspect rate of 5 approximately.

  • In this paper, the error compensation method of the low-cost IMU is proposed. In general, the position and attitude error calculated by accelerometers and gyros grows with time. Therefore the additional information is required to compensate the drift. The attitude angles can be bound accelerometer mixing algorithm and the heading angle can be aided by single antenna GPS velocity. The Kalman filter is used for error compensation. The result is verified by comparing with the attitude calculated and dynamics position determination by Attitude Heading Reference System with Micro Electro Mechanical System for a basis

  • 본 논문에서는 보 구조물의 응력 변화에 따른 구조역학적 임피던스의 특성을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 다음과 같은 연구가 수행되었다. 먼저 외팔보 형식의 알루미늄 보에 PZT센서와 strain gage를 부착하고, 하중을 단계적으로 증가시키면서 임피던스를 계측하였다. 다음으로 strain gage에서 계측된 변형률과 PZT로 부터 계측된 임피던스 사이의 관계를 분석하였다. 마지막으로 수치해석을 통해 변형률과 임피던스의 관계를 분석하여, 실험결과와 비교하였다.

  • This study presents parametric studies for design of a tilting mechanism to be used in 180km/h tilting train. The tilling mechanism is composed of 4 links, a lilting bolster old an electro-mechanical actuator. The movements of the tiling center, CG of the train body, coupler center and tilting actuator along variation of upper and lower span length have been verified by the kinematic analysis. Moreover, the inclination angle and the stroke of the tilting actuator according to the variation of the tilting angle from +8 degrees to -8 degrees have been investigated. From this study, the relation between the movements of the CG of the train body, coupler center and tilting actuator and the height of the tilting center could be evaluated.
