  • The influence of aging treatment on the microstructure, mechanical and electrical properties of Cu-Be alloy for connector material applications was investigated. The properties of mechanical strength and electrical conductivity were found to increase with increasing aging temperature. By the way, SEM/EDS and TEM analysis exhibited that beryllides precipitation (CoBe and NiBe) with a size of 50 nm were distributed in grains. It was, therefore concluded that these beryllide precipitates improved the mechanical strength and also it was favor in increasing of electrical conductivity.

  • The parameters of transmission lines have an influence on the electromagnetic environment surrounding the line. This paper proposes a method based on phasor measurement unit (PMU) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) to achieve online estimation of transmission line full parameters, such as resistance, reactance and susceptance. The proposed full parameter estimation method is compared with the traditional method of estimating resistance independently based on SCADA system. Then, the electromagnetic environment is analyzed based on the different parameter estimation methods. The example results illustrate that online estimation of transmission line full parameters is more accurate in the analysis of electromagnetic environment, which further confirms its necessity and significance in engineering application.

  • This study evaluates the influence of strontium addition and holding time on mechanical properties for Al-10.5wt%Si-2wt%Cu secondary die-casting alloy and the measured electrical conductivity of modified alloys. A general improvement in the mechanical properties of the alloy was observed after adding the strontium. Ultimate tensile strength, elongation and electrical conductivity of modified alloys were improved by increasing strontium content and holding time. From these results, the optimal strontium content and holding time were identified on the mechanical properties of Al-10.5wt%Si-2wt%Cu secondary die-casting alloys.

  • In this study, the process of preparation nonwoven with coated carbon nano fibers (CNFs) /poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF-HFP) composite solution is described. The various contents of CNFs/PVDF-HFP composite coated nonwoven were prepared and characterized by morphological, mechanical, and electrical methods. Nonwovens are coated with CNFs/PVDF-HFP composite solution and decreased the pick up ratio with increasing CNFs contents in range from 0% to 16%. In the results of SEM images, it was clear that the CNFs were evenly distributed in coated nonwoven by SEM images, the existence of CNFs in coated nonwoven was confirmed regularly. The mechanical properties of various contents of CNFs/PVDF-HFP coated nonwoven were examined. The tensile linearity and compression linearity increased with increasing CNFs contents. The electrical properties of the CNFs/PVDF-HFP coated nonwoven increased with increasing CNFs contents.

  • As electromagnetic systems have the complexity and high performance, they should be designed to take into account the vibration, noise and strain of mechanical aspect as well as electrical problems. Until now, mechanical approaches have been tried to analyze the subject, but it is difficult to figure out the matter in mechanical consideration. Because they are mainly related to electromagnetic phenomena. This paper deals with the theories and numerical formulations of magnetic force density. Several methods are applied to an actuator and DC machine model to calculate magnetic force density. These results are compared with the total force obtained by maxwell stress tensor and virtual work principle.

  • In this study, the distributed secondary voltage control of islanded microgrids with multi-agent consensus algorithm is investigated. As an alternative to a time-triggered approach, an event-triggered scheme is proposed to reduce the communication load among inverter-based distributed generators (DGs). The proposed aperiodic control scheme reduced unnecessary utilization of limited network bandwidth without degrading control performance. By properly establishing a distributed triggering condition in DG local controller, each inverter is only required to send voltage information when its own event occurs. The compensation of voltage amplitude deviation can be realized, and redundant data exchange related to fixed high sampling rate can be avoided. Therefore, an efficient use of communication infrastructure can be realized, particularly when the system is operating in steady state. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified by simulations on a microgrid test system.

  • Carbon/polymer based composite electrodes were fabricated by using Super p. Black(SPB) as a conductor and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) as a binder. This type of composite electrode are considered as excellent candidates for heating film and variable resistor applications. Aim of this work is the study of the Mechanical and Electrical properties on composite electrode by the contents of SPB and MWCNT, respectively. The composite electrode having 10~15 wt% of SPB show good electrical and mechanical properties. Mechanical and electrical properties are increased by the addition of MWCNT into the composite electrode.

  • We propose a new approach called as a peak time approach for faster detection of step initiation for the lower limb exoskeleton. As faster detection of step initiation is an important criterion in evaluating the lower limb exoskeleton, many studies have investigated approaches to detect step initiation faster, including using electromyography, the center of pressure, the heel-off time and the toe-off time. In this study, we will utilize vertical ground reaction force events to detect step initiation, and compare our approach with prior approaches. Additionally, we will predict the first step's heel strike time with vertical ground reaction force events from multiple regression equations to support our approach. The lower limb exoskeleton should assist the operator's movement much faster and more reliably with our approach.
