  • In this paper, some automatic inspection algorithms for LCD module are suggested. Human eyes are very good for the inspection in many industrial areas. However, very bright LCD back lighting may cause permanent damage to the human eyes. Also, the growing size of the LCD make it more difficult for the human inspectors. Therefore, using camera set, automatic inspection process becomes very essential for the future LCD industry.

  • Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) inspection is a general non-destructive testing (NDT) method to detect the corrosion of natural gas pipelines. Currently, it is subjectively analyzed by trained analysts. In spite of investing much time and human resources, the inspection results may be different according to the analysts' expertise. So, many gas suppliers are keenly interested in the automation of the interpretation process. This paper presents a Gaussian variance filtering method of MFL signals, which is taken from MFL pigging of underground pipelines. In the proposed algorithm the original MFL signals are filtered by multiple Gaussians with different variance. Experimental results show that this approach does not need to align bias and to use explicit noise reduction algorithm.

  • This paper is to enable electrical safety manager to have more objective evaluation on the safety by indicating quantitative values such as life-time and status quotient of daily visual inspection on private electrical equipments. Self-diagnosis table is recommended to apply such a evaluation efficiently according to the characteristics of each electrical equipments, and the managers's determination of the precise inspection, replacement etc. will be also possible through the standard selected by various domestic and foreign data with expert's advise for numerical evaluation. This circumstance will be able to establish the foundation to secure the soundness of electrical equipments.

  • In this paper, 2D and 3D inspection algorithm for printed solder on PCB is introduced. The aim of inspection is the detection of error such as rich solder poor solder and missing solder. For Inspection, laser distance sensor is used. For 2D inspection, laser image that is created by normalizing laser data between 0 and 255 are used. Reference Image is made using gerber file. Image processing algorithm is used for 2D inspection. By adding thickness of metal stencil to laser image, volume for solder can be calculated and 3D inspection is carried out.

  • The display module of PDP consists of a pair of fine electrode patterned panels. For example, in case of 42" PDP, thousands of electrode patterns should be placed on panel, where length, width, and height of each pattern m one meter, 50${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, and 30${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ respectively. And pitch between patterns is around 200${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. Electrode patterns are frequently damaged during the production process, and thus might be broken. These breakage will result in open-circuited electrical characteristic of a pattern and/or open-circuited electrical characteristic between patterns. Therefore, inspection of pattern defects is the inevitable process to improve production yield rate of the panel. In this paper, we first review several types of PDP pattern defects which affects yield-rate of PDP. And, problems of inspecting such pattern defects by a typical inspection method is addressed. Then, a novel inspection method is proposed to overcome the difficulties, where some new components and the algorithm to detect the electrode defects are explored.ored.

  • 전력계통이 초고압, 대규모화되고 이를 구성하고 있는 대용량 전력설비들의 고신뢰도 운전이 한층 요망되고 있는 환경에서 예방진단기술을 활용한 설비운영의 중요성은 나날이 커지고 있다. GIS 등 설비의 최적화 및 효율적인 관리를 위한 예방진단기술의 정착은 현재 유지보수 비용의 절감과 설비의 안정성 향상 및 체계적인 운영을 가능하게 한다는 점에서 전력설비의 성공적인 운영에 없어서는 안 될 핵심기술로서 자리매김하고 있으며, 설비의 잔존수명예측 등 향후 예방진단기술의 발전을 위한 지속적인 연구와 관심이 뒷받침되어져야 할 것이다.

  • The goal of this paper is improvement of vision inspection accuracy by using histogram specification operation. The histogram is composed of horizontal axis of image intensity value and vertical axis of pixel number in image. In appearance vision inspection, the histogram of reference image and input image are different because of minutely lighting distinction. The minutely lighting distinction is main reason of vision inspection error in many cases. Therefore we made an effort for elevation of vision inspection accuracy by making the identical histogram of reference image and input image. As a result of this area separation histogram specification algorithm, we could increase the exactness of vision inspection and prevent system error from physical and spirit condition of human. Also this system has been developed only using PC, CCD Camera and Visual C++ for universal workplace.

  • There are technological changes to reduce the size and weight of electronic components and to accommodate multi-functions in them. To meet this trend, more complicated technological processes are required. To maintain the processes, more accurate inspection systems are also necessary. Therefore, new inspection methods are needed, which is differ from conventional inspection methods such as electrical test methods ICT(In-Circuit Test), FCT(Function Test) and visual test using optical equipments. One of the possible approaches is non-destructive test using X-ray. In this paper, an inspection method using X-ray is developed and applied to inspection of soldering state and internal defects of electronic components.

  • This paper presents a robust controller in order to handle the guide rail vibrations of Bridge Inspection System. While a Bridge Inspection Robot moves on guide rails with vibration by weight occurs. Therefore, Guide rail as structure like cantilever beam appears vibration by weight of Bridge Inspection Robot. The Z axis of Bridge Inspection Robot operates with Scissors structure. Bridge Inspection Robot is used 'PID Controller based on Sliding Mode control' for position control with Z axis. At the result of, this paper is applied to simulation about position control regarding vibration to occur with Z axis.

  • Numerous pipe lines can be found on various plant-based industrial sites. These pipelines should be periodically checked for defects. Most of these pipelines are internally inaccessible and difficult to visually inspect. Therefore, the inspection is being carried out with the help of non-contact inspection equipment such as ultrasonic flaw detection equipment. The use of ultrasonic flaw detection equipment can raise time and efficiency issues. In order to solve this problem, we will study the basic technology necessary for the development of automated inspection system equipped with ultrasonic measuring equipment and verify the validity through the fabrication of the demonstration device.
