The future neuro-prosthetic devices would be required spikes data monitoring through sub-nanoscale transistors that enables to neuroscientists and clinicals for scalable, wireless and implantable applications. This research investigates the spikes monitoring through integrated CNT front-end amplifier for neuro-prosthetic diagnosis. The proposed carbon nanotube-based architecture consists of front-end amplifier (FEA), integrate fire neuron and pseudo resistor technique that observed high electrical performance through neural activity. A pseudo resistor technique ensures large input impedance for integrated FEA by compensating the input leakage current. While carbon nanotube based FEA provides low-voltage operation with directly impacts on the power consumption and also give detector size that demonstrates fidelity of the neural signals. The observed neural activity shows amplitude of spiking in terms of action potential up to $80{\mu}V$ while local field potentials up to 40 mV by using proposed architecture. This fully integrated architecture is implemented in Analog cadence virtuoso using design kit of CNT process. The fabricated chip consumes less power consumption of $2{\mu}W$ under the supply voltage of 0.7 V. The experimental and simulated results of the integrated FEA achieves $60G{\Omega}$ of input impedance and input referred noise of $8.5nv/{\sqrt{Hz}}$ over the wide bandwidth. Moreover, measured gain of the amplifier achieves 75 dB midband from range of 1 KHz to 35 KHz. The proposed research provides refreshing neural recording data through nanotube integrated circuit and which could be beneficial for the next generation neuroscientists.

Recently, computer vision field based deep learning artificial intelligence has become a hot topic among various image analysis boundaries. In this study, flames are detected in fire images using the Faster R-CNN algorithm, which is used to detect objects within the image, among various image recognition algorithms based on deep learning. In order to improve fire detection accuracy through a small amount of data sets in the learning process, we use image augmentation techniques, and learn image augmentation by dividing into 6 types and compare accuracy, precision and detection rate. As a result, the detection rate increases as the type of image augmentation increases. However, as with the general accuracy and detection rate of other object detection models, the false detection rate is also increased from 10% to 30%.

During the winter season, when the weather gets colder every year, electricity consumption increases rapidly. The occurrence of fires is increasing due to a short circuit in electrical facilities of buildings such as markets, bathrooms, and apartments with high population density while using a lot of electricity. The cause of these short circuit fires is mostly due to the aging of the wires, the usage increases, and the excessive load cannot be endured, and the wire sheath is melted and caused by nearby ignition materials. In this paper, the load and overheat generated in the electric wire are measured through a complex sensor composed of an overload sensor, a VoC sensor, and an overheat sensor. Based on this, big data analysis is carried out to develop a platform capable of predicting, alerting, and blocking electric fires in real time, and a simulator capable of simulated fire experiments.

During the winter season, when electricity usage increases rapidly every year, fires are frequent due to short circuits in aging electrical facilities in multi-use facilities such as traditional markets and jjimjilbangs, apartments, and multi-family houses. Most of the causes of such fires are caused by excessive loads applied to aging wires, causing the wire covering to melt and being transferred to surrounding ignition materials. In this study, we implement a system that measures the overload and overheating of the wire through a composite sensor, detects the toxic gas generated there, and logs it to the server through the gateway. Based on this, we will develop a platform that can predict, alarm and block electric fires in real time through big data analysis, and a simulator that can simulate fire occurrence experiments.

Recently, secondary batteries, commonly known as rechargeable batteries, find widespread applications across various industries. Particularly valued for their compact and lightweight characteristics, they play a crucial role in diverse portable electronic devices such as smartphones, laptops, and tablets, offering high energy density and efficient charge-discharge capabilities. Moreover, they serve as vital components in electric vehicles and contribute significantly to the field of renewable energy as part of Energy Storage Systems(ESS). However, despite advancements in this technology, issues such as reduced lifespan, cracking, damage, and even the risk of fire can arise due to excessive charging and discharging of secondary batteries. To address these challenges, Battery Management System(BMS) are employed to protect against overcharging and improve overall performance. Nevertheless, understanding the protective range settings of BMS using lithium-ion batteries, the most commonly used secondary batteries, and lead-acid batteries can be challenging. Therefore, this paper aims to utilize a battery charge-discharge tester and simulator to investigate the charging and discharging characteristics of lithium-ion batteries and lead-acid batteries, addressing the associated challenges of reduced lifespan, cracking, damage, and fire hazards in secondary batteries.

Lithium-ion batteries are used in many fields due to their high energy density, fast charging conditions, and long cycle life. However, overcharging, over-discharging, physical damage, and use of lithium-ion batteries at high temperatures can reduce battery life and cause damage to people due to fire or explosion due to damage to the protection circuit. In order to reduce the risk of these batteries and improve battery performance, the characteristics of the charging and discharging process must be analyzed and understood. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the charging and discharging characteristics of lithium-ion batteries using a battery charger and discharger and simulator to reduce the risk of loss of life due to overcharge and overdischarge, as well as casualties from fire and explosion due to damage to the protection circuit.

This study aims to evaluate battery damage and heat transfer mechanisms through fire tests on lithium-ion batteries, and to explore ways to improve the efficiency and safety of battery management systems (BMS). Temperature changes in each sector are measured at points T1, T2, and T3 observing and recording the reactions of surrounding cells for 10 minutes after applying electricity to the ignition electrode. The results show that the batteries in sectors A and B fully ignite, causing severe physical damage, while the batteries in sector C do not ignite and sustain minimal damage. This confirms that the distance between sectors plays a crucial role in reducing ignition and heat propagation. The study suggests that considering the distance between sectors in the design of thermal management systems for lithium-ion batteries can significantly mitigate ignition and heat spread. Future experiments with various battery models and conditions will further propose the ways to enhance the efficiency and safety of BMS.

In this paper, we analyzed the operation of the ignition circuit for electronic arm and fire device(EAFD), and investigated the sensitive elements of the circuit system. For reliability analysis, the EAFD ignition circuit was modeled using the PSpice simulation tool, and the output results of the circuit were examined by changing the tolerance of each circuit element. Monte Carlo simulation was used by maintaining the values of the observed sensitive elements at ${\pm}10%$ of the original values and adjusting the values of the other components according to a random distribution. The histogram results of the output peak currents and pulse widths were represented by Weibull and Burr type XII function fittings in three cases(element values are +10 %, 0 %, -10 % of original). For the output peak currents, mean values were 1.0028, 1.0034, and 1.0050, where the variance values were calculated as 0.0398, 0.0396, and 0.0290 using the Weibull function fitting, respectively. For pulse widths, the mean values of 0.9475, 0.9907, and 1.0293 with the variance values of 0.0260, 0.0251, and 0.0238 were obtained using the Burr Type XII function fittings.

In recent years, there are a number of studies that have been carried out to explore the alternative for Mineral Oil (MO) as dielectric insulating fluid in transformers due to the increasing tight regulation on safety and environment. Vegetable oils have been identified as suitable candidate since it is biodegradable, non-toxic and high flash/fire points which ensure more in-service safety. Among the types of vegetable oils considered for transformers application are Palm Oil (PO) and Coconut Oil (CO). This paper presents an experimental study on the lightning breakdown voltages of PO and CO under non-uniform electric field based on needle-sphere electrodes configuration at 3 small gap distances. The type of PO used in this study is Refined Bleached and Deodorized Palm Oil (RBDPO) Olein. The main focus of this study is to examine the lightning breakdown performance of RBDPO and CO under different test conditions and assess its suitability as dielectric insulating fluid in transformers. The effect of voltage polarities (positive and negative) and testing methods (rising-voltage, up-and-down and multiple-voltage) were investigated. The data obtained from all tests were analysed by Weibull distribution in order to determine the withstand voltages for each type of oils. It was found that the breakdown voltages of RBDPO and CO are comparable with MO under positive lightning impulse. Under negative lightning impulse, the breakdown voltage of MO is slightly higher than RBDPO and CO. There is no significant effect of testing methods and voltage polarities on lightning breakdown voltages of RBDPO and CO. Based on the statistical analysis, it is found that the breakdown voltages of RBDPO and CO at 1% probability are slightly lower than MO.
