A Study on the Selections of Optimized Process Conditions in the Wire Electric Discharge (와이어방전 가공시 최적 가공조건 선정에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to present the method to choose the optimization machining condition for the wire electric machine. This was completed by examining the ever- changing quality of the material and by improving the function of the wire electric discharge machine. Precision metal mold products and the unmanned wire electric discharge machining system were used and then applied in industrial fields. This experiment uses the wire electric discharge machine with brass wire electrode of 0.25mm. To measure the precision of the machining surface, average values are obtained from 3 samples of measures of center-line average roughness by using a third dimension gauge and a stylus surface roughness gauge. In this experiment, we changed no-node voltage to 7 and 9, pulse-on-time to $6\mu\textrm{s}$, $8\mu\textrm{s}$ and $10\mu\textrm{s}$, pulse-off-time to $8\mu\textrm{s}$, $10\mu\textrm{s}$ and $13\mu\textrm{s}$, and experimented on wire tension at room temperature by 1000gf, 1200gf, and 1400gf, respectively

  • 지중송전라인에서 전압등급의 상승은 선로손실을 줄이면서 밀집된 전력수요에 대응하거나 특별히 고전압 수요를 맞추기 위한 것으로 이것은 XLPE Cable의 제조기술이 향상되면서 지속적으로 진행되어온 초고압송전계통의 일반적 추세이다. 이러한 경향으로 국내에서는 지중송전선로로서 최고전압인 345kV가 시공되어 운전중에 있으며 해외에서는 220kV~275kV급을 넘어서 400kV급 초고압케이블라인의 수요가 증가하고 있는데, 이러한 지중송전라인의 초고압화는 높은 신뢰성이 함께 요구되며 특히 접속재 분야에서 매우 높은 신뢰성이 요구된다. 당사는 UAE 400kV AL TAWEELAH Project에 400kV XLPE 1Cx630SQ 광복합 초고압송전라인을 준공하였는데 본고에서는 여기에 적용된 400kV XLPE 1Cx630SQ 광복합 케이블 부속재의 신뢰성을 높이기 위한 설계방법, 시험 및 시공에 대하여 요약하였다.

  • The underground transmission line have been consistently developed to increase its voltage level for satisfying the customer's demand through supplying the high reliability power. The underground XLPE cable and its accessories of 500kV level have been already developed internationally, but the XLPE cable have been installed 154kV level in Korea up to now. Thus, our company has developed 230kV XLPE cable and its accessory in 1998 for preparing 345kV level system in Korea and being qualified as international cable maker of developing oversea markets. In this paper, newly our developed 230kV system will be introduced using the type test result according to IEC 840 and additional specification.

  • The underground transmission system has been internationally developing the voltage class of which increase to realizing high reliability and efficiency. Under this situation, if a company don't do much labor to elevating one's technology, the company will be hard to compete against other companies in trade. Our company has successfully developed 275kV oil-filled cable and its accessory in 1999 for Malaysia project, which was based on accumulated technological know-how, which is the highest voltage level among awarded oversea underground transmission networks in Korea. The power cable and its accessories were subjected to type approval test in accordance with IEC 60141-1 and TNB tender documents. This paper describes the main features of the type approval tests of the cable and its accessories.

  • 전력계통분야에서 송전전압의 초고압화는 꾸준히 연구가 진행되는 과제중의 하나이다. 국내에서는 당사가 참여한 한전(KEPCO)의 영서${\sim}$ 영등포 345kV XLPE 지중T/L 건설공사가 2003년 6월 20일 국내 최초로 준공된 이후 현재까지 아무런 문제없이 운전중에 있으며, 향후 그 수요가 꾸준히 증대될 것으로 예상되고 있다. 전 세계적으로 살펴보더라도 400KV급 XLPE 케이블 및 부속재에 대한 수요가 꾸준히 확대되고 있다. 그러므로, 당사에서는 국내에서 345KV 케이블 및 부속재를 개발한 기술력을 바탕으로, 한 단계 업그레이드된 해외시장에서 세계의 업체들과 경쟁하기 위해, 400KV 2500sq.mm XLPE 케이블 및 부속재를 성공적으로 개발하였다. 이에 관해 소개하고자 한다.

  • Recently industry of motor vehicle is making a gradual progress of automotive electric components. According to this step, wire harness equipped at motor vehicle is also increased. The most important component at the wire harness is electric connector. At the manufacturing process of electric connector, exactly at the crimping process, design variables, such as clamping-height, clamping-width and clamping die shape are critical parameters to assure satisfactory harness shape in clamping process of electric connector. In this study we have performed FEM simulation for clamping process and clarified the effect of design variables on compression rate of wire.

  • The measurement of contact wire wear in electric railways is one of the key test parameters to increase speed and maintain safety in electric railways. Wear caused by continuous interaction between pantographs and contact wires has a negative effect on current collection quality and severely damaged contact wires might cause hazardous accidents. This paper introduces a non-contact optical-based contact wire wear measuring system that will replace conventional wear detecting methods conducted by maintenance vehicles or workers. The system is implemented by high-speed cameras that can collect images of contact wires during vehicle operation, a laser used to create images profile of the contact wire surface, and a computer used to process the collected images. The proposed system is designed to assist maintenance of overhead contact lines by creating geometrically plotted images of contact wires to detect contact wire wear during operation on conventional lines or high-speed lines.

Application of a Wire code in Domestic Residential EMF Studies (국내 거주환경에서의 전자기장 노출평가를 위한 Wire code의 타당성에 관한 연구)

  • Wire codes, introduced by Wertheimer and Leeper, are interesting largely because several case-control studies have reported associations between them and certain types of cancers, including childhood leukemia. This paper is concerned with the reliability of wire codes as a surrogate for residential electric and magnetic field, divided into four categories based on the electrical wiring within 40m of homes. To examine the correlation between spot measurements and wire codes, EMF was measured by using HI-3604 and classified by wire codes. The correlation between long-transformed RMS of magnetic field and wire codes was 0.81. But the correlation between log-transformed RMS of electric field and wire codes was 0.27. The results led us to determine a four category from of the Wertheimer and Leeper code that 1) may be useful in domestic epidemiological studies and 2) is not suitable for electric field exposure. Thus, the critical point of exposure assessment in residential magnetic field is to classify a wire code precisely.

Effect of Diameter on Spreading Flame over Electrical Wire with Applied AC Electric Fields (교류전기장이 인가된 상태에서 전선을 통해 전파하는 화염에 대한 전선직경의 영향)

  • An experimental study on spreading flame over electrical wire, which was insulated by Polyethylene(PE) and had different diameters, was conducted with applied AC electric field. The result showed that the flame spread rate decreased in increase of the diameter of insulator at a fixed electric field. The flame spread rate exhibited increase or decrease tendency with applied AC electric field, having three distinct regimes depending on applied voltage and frequency. In each regime, the flame spread rate was characterized by physical parameters of applied electric fields and wire dimensions, and the behaviors could be explained by a thermal balance mechanism.
