Demand Analysis of Electric Vehicle by Household Type (전기자동차의 가구유형별 수요에 대한 고찰)

  • The conversion of the internal combustion engine vehicle to the electric vehicle is suggested as a solution to the problem of global climate change and environmental pollution. Accordingly, this study was started to promote the use of electric vehicles. The purpose of this study is to identify the basic background knowledge and current status of electric vehicles in Korea and abroad, and expand from previous understanding on which factors affect ones choice on electric vehicles by considering individual characteristics and context in detail. In the analysis, a set of demand forecasting models were constructed by grouping the respondents based on the household characteristics as well as the vehicle ownership. At the time in need for better understanding of the feasibility of electric vehicles, it is expected that the research can assist the promotion of electric vehicles. In the follow-up study, I would like to continue the research on the activation of electric vehicles.

  • Purpose and Method: This study aims to suggest institutional improvements to enhance the response to electric vehicle fires. To this end, we examined the prevalence of electric vehicles, fires, and related legal systems in Seoul. Results: The top-level laws and ordinances related to electric vehicles are centered on distribution policies, so there is no practical fire response plan for electric vehicle fires. In order to apply the same regulations to each local government, it is necessary to set standards and establish a system for firefighting and safety facilities in higher laws. Conclusion: Establishing standards for the installation of fire and safety facilities that take into account the characteristics of electric vehicle fires and improving related systems will ultimately lead to an increase in the penetration rate of electric vehicles.

  • This paper is about modeling on 1500V DC electric railroad system. Electric railroad systems have peculiar characteristics against other electric system. The characteristics arc that the railroad systems have electric vehicle loads which are power-varying and location-varying with time. Because of this load characteristic, the electric railroad system modeling which reflects its own characteristics on EMTDC simulation could not be achieved. However, to reflect load characteristic on EMTDC, this paper suggests electric railroad system modeling by using TPS (Train Performance Simulator) that was developed in Korea Railroad Research Institute. A TPS program has various kinds of input data, such as operation condition, vehicle condition, and power system condition. By these data, TPS calculates mechanical power consumption and location, especially it decide electric power consumption on the basis of the fact that consumed electric and mechanical power are equal. Moreover, on this paper, movement of vehicle is reflected on EMTDC simulation as variation of feeder impedance. Also, an electric vehicle load is modeled as time-varying constant power load model.

  • The Developing & Producing of Eco-Friendly vehicle have been more incremented, as People appreciate the importance of Earth Environment Conservation. The needs of Neighborhood Electric Vehicle(NEV) that suits Current people's short drive distance is incremented. In this Paper, we define Neighborhood Electric Vehicle through out National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of United States of America's regulation and explain motor and battery of primary constituents of that. We used MATLAB and ADVISOR 200 programs for Simulation, and propsed NEV's Model that tow people can be got in. In this Model, the battery is Lead-acid battery(72V, 85Ah) and the motor is 8kW permanent magnet synchronous motor(PM motor). We compared change of driving range of NEV through out non-changing speed Driving(10km/h, 20km/h, 30km/h, 40km/h) and Manhattan driving schedule.

  • Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) stack power output is needed to be approximately 100 kW to meet the requirements of automotive applications. In order to secure the electric safety for drivers, passengers and mechanics, it is very important to understand phenomena of an electric insulation in a fuel cell vehicle. In this study, we studied the electric insulation properties and the insulation resistance of stack, system and vehicle in the field of fuel cell was estimated at the applied voltage of 500 V, respectively. Also we discussed the insulation factors such as the conductivity of coolant, the element of vehicle design and the intrinsic resistance of the vehicle components.

  • Recently, researches about the eco-friendly vehicles such as hybrid electric vehicle, fuel cell vehicle and electric vehicle have been actively carried out. The regenerative braking system is a key technology to improve the vehicle energy utilization efficiency because it transforms the kinetic energy to the electric energy through the electric motor. This new braking system requires cooperative control between electric controlled brake and regenerative brake. Therefore, it is necessary to establish fault-diagnosis and fail-safe evaluation criteria to secure reliability of the regenerative braking system. In this paper, the failure types and causes in regenerative braking system were analyzed. The transient behavior characteristics were examined based on fault-diagnosis and fail-safe upon failure of regenerative braking system.

  • Electric vehicle body has to be subjected to uniform load and demand auxiliary equipment such as air pipe, electric wire pipe and gas pipe. Especially, lightweight vehicle body is salutary to save operating costs and fuel consumption. Cross beam supports the weight of passenger and electrical equipments and account for the most of weight of vehicle body. Therefore this study performs the size and the shape optimization of crossbeam for electric vehicle using GENESIS 7.0 and presents the effect of mass reduction and the shape of hole in cross beam.

  • Outer rotor type in-wheel Blushless DC Motor(BLDCM) for three-wheeled electric vehicle is researched. In-wheel system is to drive the electric vehicle without mechanical transmission, shaft, differential gears or other mechanical system. The motor is designed considering the performance requirements and drive modes of the vehicle. The determined dimensions as well as the slot and rotor pole are simulated by magnetic and thermal finite element analysis and ansys workbench to analyze the performance and heating of the motor. In order to verify the performance characteristics of the proposed motor, the experiment tests are executed and satisfy well the requirements.

  • This paper proposes a robust control design method for improving the cornering stability of a personal electric vehicle equipped with in-wheel motors. In general, vehicles undergo severe parameter variations and unpredictable disturbances with respect to a wide range of driving conditions (e.g., road surface conditions and vehicle velocity conditions). For this reason, robust control design techniques are required to guarantee consistent driving performances and robustness against various driving conditions. In this paper, an adaptive sliding mode control method is employed to enhance cornering stability by controlling the direct-drive in-wheel motors independently. Additionally, in order to confirm the effectiveness of a proposed control method, real driving tests with an experimental personal electric vehicle are performed.

  • In-wheel motor system gets the driving force from direct-driven motor in the wheel of electric vehicle. It is known as good system for vehicles, from an efficiency, packaging, handling and safety. This paper describes motor and inverter technologies, system configuration and control algorithms for in-wheel type electric vehicle. It is necessary to control on an interrelation perspective because this system drives two motors at same time. In system design, IPMSM(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) including a wide operating range and high-speed rpm is used and flux weakening control is performed in constant power range. Under the torque command from the host controller, auto control box, inverter's output torque is calculated with using torque estimation technique and applied to actual vehicle driving system. It is verified that the configuration and the algorithm are suitable for the in-wheel motor system.
