고출력 에너지 사용 체계 플랫폼 실현을 위한 해군함정의 통합 동력 시스템 발전 경향 분석 (Analysis of Development Trend for the Integrated Power System of Naval Vessels to Perform the High-Power and Energy Mission Load Platform)

  • 본 논문은 고도로 발전된 군사과학 기술의 영향과 급변하는 해양전장환경의 디지털화, 함정생존성 극대화를 위한 고출력 센서체계 등 고출력 에너지 사용 체계 플랫폼 실현을 위한 해군함정의 통합 동력 시스템 발전 경향을 분석하는데 초점을 두었다. 함정에서 전자기를 이용하는 항공기 출격 시스템, 200NM(370km) 이상 원거리에서 정밀타격이 가능한 전자기 포 등 고출력 에너지를 사용하는 각종 무기체계가 탑재되기 위해서는 추진동력을 포함한 함정에 공급되는 모든 동력이 단일화 되어야하는 통합 동력 시스템으로 변화하는 것이 가장 이상적이다. 선진국을 중심으로 통합 동력 시스템을 실현하기 위해서 기계식 추진시스템에서 하이브리드 및 완전전기추진시스템으로 변화하고 있는 추세이며 이러한 노력은 연료사용의 절감, 함정 탑재 장비의 고출력화, 함정 총 수명주기 비용 절감 등을 포함하고 있다.

Study on a Fully Electrified Car Ferry Design Powered by Removable Battery Systems Considering Domestic Coastal Environment

  • As increasing the international community's awareness of greenhouse gas reduction, the demand for eco-friendly ship fuel has accelerated recently. The fundamental aim of this study is to develop a new type of fully electrified ferry for passengers and cars considering Korean domestic coastal environmental conditions. Several technical difficulties are encountered in applying a fully electric propulsion system based on removable battery systems into a ship due to limitations imposed by the batteries' size and capacity. This paper reviews and analyzes marine environment regulations strengthened recently, technology trends related to fully electric propulsion vessels in each country, and Korean domestic coastal environments. We propose a new fully electrified car ferry design with a displacement of 400 t applied in Korea. It is powered by removable battery systems pre-charged in a safe inland charging station. The mobile battery system is developed to enable roll-on and roll-off using wheels. The characteristics of the ship motion are analyzed based on the weight and location of the battery systems. We expect our battery systems to be applicable to larger ships in the future.

And a trend on the recent technical development of electric propulsion motors for ships is introduced.

Vibration analysis of a DWT 1,000-ton ocean-research vessel with electric propulsion

  • In vibration analysis of ships, the principle aim is to determine the natural frequencies and excitation frequencies, and use this information to avoid resonances and vibration damage. The simplest method is to prevent resonance conditions, which is effective as long as the natural frequencies and excitation frequencies can be regarded as independent from environmental conditions. For ships that use electric propulsion systems, the sources of vibration are reduced compared with those caused by a diesel engine or other combustion-based propulsion systems. However, the frequency spectrum of these vibrations may be different; therefore, to understand the characteristics of the electric propulsion, we also should investigate how the ship responds to these vibrations. We focused on a 1,000-ton deadweight (DWT) ocean-research vessel using an electric propulsion system and analyzed the response to vibration.

  • The electric propulsion system requires more reliability and safety than the conventional propulsion system because any sudden changes of electric system would bring tremendous effects on the ship's safety and propulsion. So it is very important to consider the potential transient effects. This paper discusses one of the worst electric accident. That is, one or two of generators are out of service in normal seagoing condition. And the appropriate measures are simulated in order to prevent the frequency decline that can bring the other generator's tripping. In addition, the relation between the transient effects and the major factors(inertia of generator/motors, governor's drooping characteristic and response speed) are also identified using the ETAP software.

  • The cooling system is one of the most concerning factor for the reliability of the electric propulsion ship. Generally, a drive system operation in higher temperature decreases the device's reliability and power efficiency. The management of power loss and temperature of switching devices is indispensable for the reliability of the power electric system. In this paper, the switching devices are molded by IGBT, and the propulsion system is consisted of MIIR(Motor with Inverter Internal to Rotor). The system composition interacts with each other to calculate the loss and temperature of device. The calculation result is used for modeling and designing of the control and monitoring system for the electric propulsion system.

  • There is few study which automatically diagnoses the fault from ship's monitored data. The bigger control and monitoring system is. the more important fault diagnosis and maintenance is to reduce damage caused by system fault. This paper proposes fault diagnosis system using a correlation analysis algorithm which is able to diagnose and forecast the fault from monitored data and is composed of fault detection knowledge base and fault diagnosis knowledge base. For all kinds of ship's engine room monitored data are classified with combustion subsystem, heat exchange subsystem and electric motor and pump subsystem, To verify capability of fault detection, diagnosis and prediction, FMS(Fault Management System) is developed by C++. Simulation by FMS is carried out with population data set made by the log book data of 2 months duration from a large full container ship of H shipping company.

  • This paper describes a development of ship's refer-container remote monitoring system(RRMS). This system consists of Master, repeater with a switched mode power supply(SMPS) and slave terminal. Slave terminal is composed of wireless MODEM and microprocessor part, checks its conditions like temperature. humidity & etc through the interrogate port(IP) of refer-container. and transmits their data to master. Repeater's role is that connect so that signal which is transmitted from Slave Terminal by Master may not receive electric wave interference by container boxes. We verify the effectiveness of proposed system through the experimental works in container yard and ship.

  • 해양수산부는 2016년 유실어구에 의한 피해를 최소화하기 위해 전자어구실명제 실행계획을 발표하였다. 어구의 과다사용 및 폐어구 저감을 위해 어구의 종류 및 위치, 사용자의 실명을 포함한 정보를 IoT 기반의 통신을 이용하여 어선 및 관제센터에 효율적으로 전송할 수 있는 기술이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 전자어구실명제를 실행하기 위한 LoRa 기반의 부이 장착 단말 장치와 어선용 게이트웨이를 제안한다. SEMTECH사의 SX1276 칩 사양과 ISM 대역인 900 MHz 대역을 사용하여 1(게이트웨이):200(부이) 통신이 가능하도록 설계하고 제작하였다. 또한 전자어구실명제 실행의 기술적 제안으로써의 실증을 위해 해상 시험 결과를 분석하였다.

보조 전원을 이용한 12 펄스 다이오드 정류기를 사용하는 추진시스템의 고조파 및 토크 리플 저감 (Harmonic and Torque Ripple Reduction of Electric Propulsion System using 12-Pulse Diode Rectifier by Auxiliary Supply)

  • 전기추진선박의 추진시스템에 주로 사용되는 3상 정류기의 입력전류는 다양한 저차 고조파를 포함하고 있다. 이러한 고조파 저감을 위해서 대전력이 필요한 대형 선박에 사용되는 전력변환장치는 12펄스 출력의 정류기가 현재 사용되고 있지만 여전히 $12{\pm}1$차의 고조파가 발생되는 문제점이 있다. 또한, 속도 및 토크 제어기법으로 널리 사용되고 있는 직접토크제어기법의 경우에는 토크 리플이 심하고 전동기의 입력전류는 인버터의 스위칭에 의해 고조파를 크게 포함하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 직접토크제어기법을 이용하는 전기추진시스템의 12펄스 정류기에 보조 전원을 공급하여 고조파를 저감하고 토크 제어성능을 향상시켰으며 실선시스템 환경에서 시뮬레이션을 통해 그 유효성을 입증하였다.
