  • The urban transit vehicles has very complicated structures composed electric and mechanical parts and systems. Its system is important to insure operating stability pursuant to massive transfer. Also, its system takes a lot of maintenance cost than constructing cost due to its system which has longtime life cycle. Generally it is know that maintenance cost affect a lot on total cost because its life cycle cost takes a part more than 60~70%. For these reason, it is really important to reduce its maintenance cost through efficiently operation and maintenance management system construction.

  • At present, KORAIL is in the middle of renovating. All steps exert great effort at cost reduction and a profit improvement. Especially to improve maintenance method and inspection period at the rolling-stock division lots of research is under progress. Daily inspection of rolling stocks is to operate the rolling stock normally. Daily inspection items are driving control device, coupling device, brake system, water system and air conditioning system, electrical system etc. Half of the maintenance manpower are inputted at daily inspection. Strengthens the quality and optimize the proportion of daily inspection are urgent problem. Daily inspection period extension aim is as follows. KTX from 3,500km to 5,000km, passenger car from 1st to 3,500km, new style electric locomotive from 2nd to 5,000km, the diesel locomotive is 2,800km from 1,200km. In this paper, the optimal daily inspection period and methods are considered including expected problem and counter measures.

  • Since standardization project is composed of complicate system, such as vehicle, signal, electric power and railway, how to build management system of the project has influence on the success of the project for the first stage of the project. The computer system design tool supports to carry out requirement analysis, DB construction, and history and follow-up management efficiently. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the method to optimize schema using computer system design tool.

  • DC transit system has been adopted in the metropolitan area, Korea since 1974. EMU in this system always reiterates that acceleration and retardation. When EMU decelerates using electric breaking, regenerative power occurs. Regenerative power can be consumed in vicinity EMU on the same line or in resistor. If DC transit system has inverter for reusing regenerative power, Energy efficiency in DC transit system will be increased. This paper present the developed inverter for regenerative power and its test equipment. Test result of developed inverter is presented.

  • Within industry induction motors have a broad application area to drive pumps, fans, elevators and electric trains. Sudden failures of such machines can cause the heavy economical losses and the deterioration of system reliability. Based on the reliability and cost competitiveness of driving system (motors), the faults detection and the diagnosis of system are considered very important factors. In order to perform the faults detection and diagnosis of motors, the vibration monitoring method and motor current signature analysis (MCSA) method are emphasized. In this paper, MCSA method are used for induction motor fault diagnosis. This method analyzes the motor's supply current, since this diagnoses faults of the motor. The diagnostic algorithm is based on the principal component analysis(PCA), and the diagnosis system is programmed by using LabVIEW and MATLAB.

  • At present. distance relay and ${\Delta}I$ current increment relay are used as primary and secondary protection in the AC feeder system. However. electric railway vehicles according to power electronic's development had developed resistance control, thyristor phase control and PWM control system. and operation of train is increasing in a feeder section. Therefore this paper analyzes the load characteristics and situation of relay's maloperation caused by load current increase, harmonics, regenerative braking current and operation of the different vehicles in same feeder section. Based on this analysis. this paper proposes consideration items for relay correction and advanced adaptive relay that can change operation area according to load current.

  • This paper presents the implementation of Real-time data acquisition system for dynamic characteristics of overhead contact wire in electric railway. The reconfigurable field-programmable gate array (FPGA) and LabVIEW graphical development tools have been used to Real-time monitoring system. The results from a field test show that the proposed technique and developed system can be practically applied to measure the assessment quantity or quantities on overhead contact lines for the online real-time process monitoring.

수명진단이 가능한 전기철도차량 추진제어장치의 커패시터 교환 형 GDU 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Capacitor Exchange Type GDU of Propulsion Control Device of Electric Railway Vehicle Capable of Life Diagnosis)

  • 전기철도차량의 추진제어장치는 자동차의 엔진에 해당되는 핵심 주요부품이며 이를 제어하는 장치는 GDU(Gate Drive Unit)라는 장치를 이용한다. 또한, 추진제어장치의 고장 빈도를 파악해보면 GDU에 대한 부적합 비율이 가장 높았다. GDU는 외국산 도입으로 인하여 핵심기술의 접근이 불가하였고, 제작사의 GDU 단종으로 전반적인 유지보수 활동에 전반적인 문제점이 있었다. GDU는 최장 23년부터 최근 14년의 장기간 사용으로 수명이 도래하였다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제점을 해결하고자 호환이 가능한 GDU의 확보와 고장을 분석하여 적정수명을 파악하기 위한 것으로, 기존의 상태검사 위주의 유지보수 방법 개선을 위해 설계를 변경하여 추진제어장치의 GDU를 커패시터 교환 형으로 개발하였다. 전체수명에 비해 비교적 수명이 짧은 구성부품의 유지보수는 필수이며, 대부분의 건설초기의 최초 외산도입 부품은 기술종속 및 장기운영의 결과로 관련 부품의 단종이 발생하면 고장발생 시 수급불가 등으로 기본적인 교환에 대한 유지보수에 문제점이 발생되고 있으나, 25년 이상으로 전체수명이 긴 철도차량의 특성상 앞으로도 상당기간 운영이 필요하여 개조 혹은 대체품 개발로 부품확보 및 일정수준의 품질을 유지할 필요가 강조되며, 이에 대한 연구는 보다 구체적이고 실증적으로 이루어져야 한다. 커패시터 교환 형 GDU는 커패시터 모듈의 분리를 통해 정전용량을 쉽게 측정하여 수명을 판단하고, 단품 시험과 커패시터의 수명을 측정하여 정확한 예방유지보수를 할 수 있어서 운행 중 열차의 부적합을 미리 예방할 수 있으며, 24개월 이상의 영업 운전을 통하여 한건의 부적합 없이 영업운행에 성공하여 기존품의 대체 가능여부를 검증하였다.

교류 입력 전압 변동에 따른 사이리스터 듀얼 컨버터의 출력 특성 개선을 위한 알고리즘 개발 (Algorithm Development for Improving Output Characteristics of Thyristor Dual Converter with AC Input Voltage Variation)

  • Electric energy is consumed or regenerated according to an operation of electric rail cars in urban railway power substations. A thyristor dual converter system is used to deal with the electric energy. Since the AC input voltage of power substations is $22.9kV{\pm}10%$, the magnitude of the AC voltage fluctuates according to load conditions, so the secondary side voltage of the DDY transformer also fluctuates. In the thyristor dual converter, the response characteristics of the DC output voltage and the DC output current are changed based on an initial firing angle in the cross mode conversion between the forward mode and the reverse mode. Therefore, this paper proposes the initial firing angle tracking algorithm considering fluctuation of the AC input voltage. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by a simulation compared with the conventional algorithm.
