  • Arc-furnace facilities consume 9,895,165(MWh) which is about 69.6 Percent of electronic furnace power consumption. and interior of a country demand power have inclosed annual. but becaused of the problem of cost, power plant location, and environment have faced difficulty to electric power supply. In this paper, Examining Load cutting of Arc-furnace that is dominating high weight of industry electric power use. and it is expected to solve easily electric power supply and demand problem by highest Priority load cutting examination of Arc-furnace when electric power supply and demand problem happens to area electric power system when is urgent.

  • It is one of the important problems how to maintain the optimal electric power generation mix. The Objective of this study is development of a computer model which can be used to forecast the investment of power generation unit by the plant owners after restructuring the electricity industry. The impacts of the various government policies can be analyzed using the computer model, thus the government can formulate effective policies for achieving the desired electric power generation mix.

  • The electrical power of nuclear power plant consists of Safety related power systems and Non-Safety related power systems. The safety related power systems are designed to have sufficient capacity to safely shut down the unit and to mitigate the effects of an accident assuming loss of off-site power. This paper presents the operation scheme of the safety related power system for several plant conditions in Korean Next Generation Reactor and reviews the diversity of power supply to the safety related bus.

  • The Rotor Stress Indicator is an integrated system of hardware and program components which has been designed to read an assortment of turbine temperature and speed input devices, perform an analysis of the temperature induced stresses and output pertinent temperature and stress information to guide the turbine operator during turbine prewarming, start-ups, load changes, and shut-downs. The purpose of the RSI is to provide guidance to the plant operator during startup, shutdown, loading, and unloading of the turbine. Since the stresses are a function of the temperature changes to which the turbine is exposed, the RSI also provides guidance for operation of the boiler main steam and reheat steam temperatures as they affect the rotor stresses. This may permit more efficient overall boiler turbine start-ups. In this paper, new rotor stress analysis algorithm for RSI is introduced and compared with present system which has been used in thermal power plant.

  • This paper presents a novel optimization method for the air- and gas-supplying network comprised of several air compression systems and air and gas streams in an industrial chemical plant. The optimization is based on the hybrid model developed by Han and $Han^1$ for predicting the power consumption of a compression system. A constrained optimization problem was formulated to minimize the total electric power consumption of all the compression systems in the air- and gas-supplying network under various operating constraints and was solved using a successive quadratic optimization algorithm. The optimization approach was applied to an industrial terephthalic acid manufacturing plant to achieve about 10% reduction in the total electric power consumption under varying ambient conditions.

  • Partial discharges(PD) is a important factor to evaluate the insulation state in high voltage electric machinery. However, measuring PD under the circumstances of power plant is occasionally impossible due to the relatively high magnitude of noise which is emanated from the operating machinery. In some case, the instrument measuring PD can not even perform a calibration that initializes tools and enhance the accuracy. This paper presents that we devised a noise reduction method and demonstrated the usefulness in acquiring reliable PD signals. We attached a series of filter and transformer at the input of power source of the instruments which refrains high noise signals from incoming to the instruments. We experimented the efficiency of noise reduction applying the device into the Dangjin Power Plant and Factory. As a result of testing with the filter and transformer, we can easily calibrate the PD signal compared to the case without the device. Additionally, we can detect the small PD signal which was unperceived with a normal device.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the geochemical factors governing the distribution of heavy metals(Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, and Zn) in the marine surface sediment samples collected from the Samcheonpo coal-fired power plant. Variations of absolute metal concentrations were related to those in textural and/or carbonate and organic matter content. Most elements, except for Pb, showed generally lower contents compared with the average shale concentration, and the effect of anthropogenic input appeared to be minimal in the sediments. Computations of LF%(labile fraction) and EF(enrichment factor) based on all trace metal data indicated the presence of mineralogical control for Co, Cr, Cu, Ni, and Zn, and anthropogenic contamination for Pb, which needs to be considered in the design of long term monitoring programmes.
