A Study on the Possibility of Electrical Fires due to the Short Circuit and Ground Fault of Power Cable Supported by an Iron Fence (철제펜스로 지지된 동력배선의 단락.지락에 의한 전기화재 발생 개연성 연구)

  • Short circuit and ground fault account for the primary causes of electrical fires. In this research, real-scale experiments were conducted to assess the possibility of electrical fires due to these causes. The experiment conditions were identical with an actual fire accident, in which the power cable was supported by an iron fence. The purposes of this research are to investigate the short circuit caused by wire cutting, the conductivity of the iron fence depending on its coating conditions, and the ground fault of one wire or two wires in an effort to reconstruct the fire accident. The test results show that, owing to the instant operation of circuit breaker in the moment of short circuit or ground fault, the generated ignition energy is far less than necessary to start an ignition. Therefore it is concluded that electrical fire is highly unlikely if the electric system is protected by a circuit breaker with normal functions.

  • 기존의 fence전극구조는 ITO구조에 비해 방전전류가 감소함에도 불구하고 휘도가 대폭 감소하여 효율이 떨어지는 것으로 알려져 있다. 따라서 효율 상승을 위하여 다음과 같은 fence구조를 제안하였다. 실험은 reference(Conventional T-전극구조)와 제안된 구조들로 구성되어 있는 4-inch AC-PDP test Panel을 직접 제작하여 discharge current, luminance, luminous efficiency를 측정하여 비교하였다. 제안된 구조들은 방전전류 최대 10%감소, 휘도는 최대 20%증가하였고 효율면에서도 최대 20%의 상승을 보였다.

Reliability Improvement of the Electronic Security Fence Using Friction Electricity Sensor by Analyzing Frequency Characteristic of Environmental Noise Signal (환경잡음신호의 주파수특성 분석에 의한 전자보안펜스의 신뢰성 향상)

  • A passive type of fence security system was developed, which was based on electric charge detection technique. The implemented fence security system was installed at outskirts of greenhouse laboratory in the University of Seoul. The purpose of this research is to minimize false alarms by analyzing environmental noise. The existing system determines the intrusion alarm by analyzing the power of amplified signal, but the alarm was seriously affected by natural strong wind and heavy rainfall. The SAU(Signal Analysis Unit) sends input signals to remote server which displays intrusion alarm and stores all the information in database. The environmental noise such as temperature, humidity and wind speed was separately gathered to analyze a correlation with input signal. The input signal was analyzed for frequency characteristic using FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) and the algorithm that differentiate between intrusion alarm and environmental noise signal is improved. The proposed algorithm is applied for the site for one month as the same as the existing algorithm and the false alarm data was gathered and analyzed. The false alarm number was decreased by 98% after new algorithm was applied to the fence. The proposed algorithm improved the reliability at the field regarding environmental noise signal.

  • This paper is to analyze electromagnetic fields on a 154kV substation system and induced voltages on the substation fence when the network is operating in a normal condition or a fault condition in which one phase is shorted with the overhead ground wire. Also, changing the scalar potential and electromagnetic fields that are changed in accordance with changing resistivity and permeability of ground are studied. A finding of the study is that the scalar potential and electromagnetic fields are raised near the tower: The values of electric field on the corner of fence and at the edge of the ground grid are higher than other locations.

  • The coastline of the Choa Phraya Rivermouth in the Upper Gulf of Thailand has been changed drastically. The western side especially at Ban Laem Sing was eroded for 400 meter in 26 years or with the rate of 15 meter per year on the average. The Metropolitan Electricity Authority has granted five years research project to us to study the efficiency of the electric pole fence as a mean to reduce the wave force and increase sedimentation rate inside for mangrove replantation. If the method works efficiently, it will be used to reclaim the coastal land loss in other areas in Thailand. The project was done since 2005 after the fence was constructed completely in October 2005. The oceanographic surveys were conducted before and after the construction in northeast monsoon season to study the impact of physical oceanographic forces on the coastline change. The sedimentation rates were measured each month. It is rather low about 2 cm/month. The subsiding rate from the load of deltaic sediment and groundwater withdraw using boring data is about 30 mm/year. The cumulative sinking rate is 55.8 cm from 1978 to 1995. We have tried to design the method of mangrove plantation in this area. The remote sensing data such as LANDSAT and aerial photos from 1987 to 2002 for 15 years were used to compute the rate of coastline change at each 50 m section along the western side of the rivermouth.

  • The highest etch rate of Pt film was obtained at 10% $Cl_2$/90% Ar gas mixing ratio in our previous investigation. However, the problems such as the etch residues(fence) remained on the pattern sidewall, low selectivity to oxide as mask and low etch slope were presented. In this paper, the etching by additive $O_2$ gas to 10% $Cl_2$/90% Ar gas base was examined. As a result, the fence-free pattern and higher etch slope as about 60$^{\circ}$was observed and the selectivity to oxide increased to 2.4 without decreasing of the etch rate $1500{\AA}$/min. XPS surface analysis proved that a only little $O_2$ gas removes the Pt-CI compounds as residues on the etched surface.

  • Due to the frequent occurrence of dangerous wild animals in rural or mountainous areas. it has been increasing damage of crops in every year. Fight bell or electric fence is typically installed to chase those wild animals. But there are problems that it is impossible to drive out birds and spends high installation and maintenance cost. In addition, it is inefficient to the risk of electric shock effect. In this study, the proposed system can drive out hazardous wildlife and birds regardless of installation location through realtime detection with the multi-sensing based IoT platform technology. This study showed a very large significance effect that can reduce crop damage by wildlife and birds.

  • The agricultural is plagued by agricultural damage from wild boars every year. As a result, research on systems to repelling wild boars continues, and most of the systems are to detect objects with body temperature through sensors and then repelling them with actions such as light and sound. The problems of these system are operating regardless of wild boars and people, which can cause significant accident when using electric fence. In addition, If the same repelling action is repeated, wild boars can be adapted to that repelling action. As a solution to the two problems, Adaptation problem can be solved by random sounds and distinction problem can be solved by YOLO V4.

  • 본 연구에서는 국내에서도 아직 초기단계 기술이라고 할 수 있는 간섭계를 이용한 주요 시설물(변전소등) 안전 감시 혹은 항만 감시 및 방어용 광섬유 격자 그물망 구현을 위한 광섬유 시스템 적용성을 연구한 것이다. 연구에서는 마흐젠더 간섭계의 구성에 비해 구성이 용이한 Sagnac간섭계를 구성 실험하였다. 이 간섭계의 성능 검증을 위하여 1550nm의 중심파장을 방사하는 레이저, 싱글모드 광섬유, 3${\times}$3 커플러 등의 광소자를 사용하였고, 광섬유의 길이의 변화를 주기 위하여 PZT 위상 변조기에 교류 전원을 인가하여 PZT 위상 변조기의 진동을 유도하였다. 또한, 전체 길이 약 180cm, 17${\times}$7, 철봉의 직경 6m의 철망 구조물을 제작후, 센서 부분의 역할을 담당한 광섬유 케이블을 일정한 간격으로 철망 구조물에 케이블 타이로 고정하였다. 철망 구조물에서 발생할 수 있는 각종 외부 가진에 대해, 철망 구조물에 가속도계를 설치하여, Sagnac 간섭계에서의 광 간섭 신호와 가속도계의 신호를 비교 검증 하였다. 본 실험결과를 통하여 광섬유 펜스는 주요 시설물(변전소등) 안전 감시 혹은 항만 감시 및 방어용 경보 시스템에 적합하다고 판단된다.
