A Study of the Influence Factors on the Internet Addiction of the Elderly (노인의 인터넷 중독 경향에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study ahead of the aging society in Korea to prevent problems of the elderly aged new addiction Internet Addiction and identify factors affecting the quantitative increase and qualitative improvement beyond that aims to promote. To this end, residents in Seoul over the age of 60's targets, local welfare, cultural centers, senior centers and other research in the area through one-on-one interviews were conducted the survey. Findings The average degree of Internet addiction elderly 36.16 points (SD = 10.02) and the distribution of at least 20 points to 65 points, respectively. Factors affecting the degree of Internet addiction as a computer time (β = .248, p <.001), mon allowance (β = .180, p <.01), age (β = .139, p <.01) and social support (β = .087, p <.05), self-efficacy (β = - .078, p <.05), most used location (β = - .116, p <.05), degree of family relationship (β = - .147, p <.01), housing type (β = - .153, p <.01), were of the order, this factor was 17.6% of the variance. In other words, the more computer time, the higher the age, the more mon allowance, housing is not self, the lower the degree of family relationship, the house is not a place most used, lower self-efficacy, social support is high As increasing the degree of Internet addiction was thought to be the two predictor variables. Survey results to target the elderly through the Internet addiction group psychotherapy program implementation, and production and distribution of manuals related to Internet use and addiction-related factors, according to the case-by-case Case management services are tailored to be done, and the Internet in general for seniors potential risks related to use in training and preventive services for the elderly will need to be made.

  • The number of elderly people is increasing rapidly in Korea. A large part of their information seeking behaviors are changed form a few conventional types of media such as letters to computers and Internet. Their use of computers and Internet, however, was difficult due to various problems including the interface especially. This work has examined and analysed the basic elements and components of interface design for the elderly people into the previous papers. The result of the study would be applied to the public libraries for the elderly and the interface design within the institution.

The Effects of Willingness to use Technology, Digital Alienation and Assistant Experiences on the Life Satisfaction of Elderly Consumers (기술 활용의지, 디지털 소외감, 조력자 경험이 고령소비자의 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently, the elderly who actively use the Internet and digital devices are increasing. This study aims to investigate the effect of the willingness to use technology, digital alienation and experience of assistant who help technology use on life satisfactions of elderly consumers who are considered to be the vulnerable in the use of information technology. A total of 311 elderly consumers over 60 who can utilize information technology were selected as a research sample and data were collected through an online survey. As a result, it was found that elderly consumers have a strong will to utilize information technology independently, perceive a low sense of digital alienation, and receive help from others when using technology. In addition, the lower the perceived digital alienation, the greater the experience of help from others in the use of technology, the higher the elderly consumers' life satisfaction significantly increased. This study is valuable in that it reveals the factors affecting the improvement of life satisfaction of elderly consumers in the high-tech environment and suggests political and practical implications.

  • Due to a modern medical technology developement and the stability of social welfare policy, the current population of old person in Korea reaches to 550 million with the increasing elderly population rate(11.8%). But the living standard of elderly people does not meet to their needs of convenience on the proportion of the percentage of elderly people. Accordingly, this study mainly focuses on the research to find various advanced IT technologies to make elderly people more convient to use. Advanced IT industry makes it possible the convinence of elderly people using NFC, Wi-Fi, cardiac measurement technology.

The Effects of Elderly's Motivation for Participating in Ball Game on Social Support and Subjective Happiness

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the elderly's motivation to participate in ball games on social support and subjective feelings of happiness. The subjects of this study were elderly people aged 65 or older who lived in Gwangju in 2020 and participated in the ball game movement. Besides, 150 males, 150 females, and 300 total subjects were selected using the convenient sampling method. The survey tool focuses on the motivation for participation in ball game movement, social support, and subjective happiness, and the data collected using this are used for the SPSS 20.0 version, and use statistics are processed according to the purpose of analysis. The results obtained through this research process are as follows. First, it was found that the elderly's motivation to participate in ball game exercise partially affected social support. Second, it was found that the elderly's motivation to participate in ball game exercises had a partial effect on subjective happiness. Third, it was found that the elderly's social support partially affected the subjective feelings of happiness.

A Study on the Development of ICT Curriculum for Private Security Workers (민간경비 종사자의 ICT직무교육과정 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study developed the ICT curriculum focusing on apartment security guards and analyzed the actual application results. We developed the educational contents and it designed ICT job courseware for elder education by considering and that designed in consideration of the computer attitudes and physical and cognitive characteristics of the elderly. The educational program was applied to the experimental group and the satisfaction and the educational effect were analyzed through the pre and post test results. As a result of the analysis, the satisfaction level of the education program was higher than the average of 4.00 points. The elderly informal education program was examined by using the qualitative assessment test tool before and after the application of the education program. Internet self-efficacy of experiment group, improvement of internet utilization ability, usage of internet use, personal information willingness, life correction, elimination of conflict among generations, self-confidence, and internet stress increased statistically significantly. These results suggest that the "Private Expense ICT Job Training" program developed in this study can be effective for elderly informatization and can be applied to other elderly education programs and contribute to promotion.

Mitigate the Relational Aggressive Attitude of the Elderly through the Convergence Program of Tea Culture Treatment Program : For the elderly women who use the Senior Citizen's Day Care Center (차문화치료 융합프로그램을 통한 노인의 관계적 공격성 완화 : 노인주간보호센터 이용 여성노인들을 대상으로)

  • In order to verify the effectiveness of the tea culture treatment program to mitigate the relative aggressiveness, the research will target 10 women aged 70 or older who use the P City-based Senior Citizens' Day Care Center to apply the tea culture treatment program to alleviate the relative aggressiveness of the elderly and examine its effects. As a result of the analysis, the score of reactive relational aggressiveness and leading relational aggression is 0.21 lower than the pre-exam average, indicating that the leading relational aggression of the elderly who participated in the tea culture therapy program is reduced than before the program. Based on these analysis results, practical suggestions were made for alleviating aggression among senior citizens using the Center for the Elderly.

A Study on Influencing Factors of Elderly Consumers' Self-Efficacy in Internet Banking Usage: Exploring Moderating Effect of 60s and 70s (고령 소비자의 인터넷 뱅킹 사용 자기효능감의 영향요인에 관한 연구: 60대와 70대의 비교)

  • Recently, digital transformation in the financial industry has been accelerated, and it has become an important task to improve the level of utilization of Internet banking by elderly consumers, who are vulnerable to Internet use. Accordingly, this study analyzed 3,101 respondents in their 60s or older from the 11th year of the Media Panel Survey to identify demographic, experiential, and psychological factors that affect the self-efficacy of elderly consumers' usage of Internet banking. The main research findings are as follows. First, gender, education, occupation, and income were identified as demographic variables. Second, the Internet shopping experience was identified as an experiential factor. Also, concerns about information security, digital literacy, and high will for problem-solving were identified as psychological factors. Third, as a result of the moderating effect analysis on whether the experiential and psychological factors have different influences according to the group divided into the 60s and 70s, the effect on self-efficacy in the usage of the Internet was classified by age. The results of this study will be able to enrich the discussions related to the intention to utilize technology among elderly consumers by empirically revealing that there are characteristics that cause differences in financial behavior even within one group called the elderly.

  • The recent trend shows that the number of internet users among older adults and their level of the ability to use internet have been increased. The purpose of this study is to investigate the phenomenon of senior information technology. Using qualitative descriptive method, this study aims to explore how and in which context older adults use internet. It also aims to address the nature and the outcomes of elderly people's use of internet in their daily lives. In-depth interviews with 16 older participants were analyzed with qualitative content analysis and constant comparison method. The finding shows as follows: (1) agonies felt by the "ambiguous" age group in the modern society, (2) the analogue generation joining the digital, (3) daily changes according to the internet use, (4) senior information technology and its flip side of coin. Based on the research findings, implications for senior information policy are addressed in three ways: promoting productive use of internet among older adults, meeting their health-related concerns using internet, and finding ways to integrate the idea of humanities into senior information technology.

The Information Leisure Activity of the Aging Generation and the Analysis of Meaning (노년기 소비자의 정보화 여가활동 연구와 의미 분석)

  • Many social and environmental changes have emerged due to the increasing size of the aging generation. This study explored the current status of the information leisure activity of the aging generation (computer use activity, internet service participation, social community participation and blogging, UCC, etc.) and the need for serious games among elderly consumers. It analyzed the current status of serious game and information leisure span as determined by experts on elderly care at the aging welfare institute. The research methods involved applying content analysis and focus group interviews. The results were as follows: The elderly are willing to enjoy the internet and economics networks. In particular, economic investment, economic news, health, meetings, and communication are the main internet search categories. The results for serious games are less interesting than those for IT participation. The components of usefulness in terms of serious games, as identified by care experts, are simplicity, a user-friendly interface, efficacy, and certainty in using the game device. Care experts recognize that serious games represent a supplementary device to traditional physical and emotional therapy.
