The program right before the meal serving will be helpful for reducing tediousness of the elderly residents. Another problem was that the area was not big enough for the meal sowing. The legal regulation Is needed to prescnbe for the size of dining area per resident. The flowing of bathing service was proceeded as staff preparation, moving, waiting, undressing, bathing, drying, dressing, moving and arranging in order. There were more problems in the dressing area than in the bathing area. The elderly with stretcher or wheelchairs had difficulty in entering the narrow doorway. The dressing area was so crowded with the staffs, undressed elderly, dressed elderly, and other laundries. • As the elderly population is becoming an aging society, the elderly are experiencing many problems. Social security costs for the elderly are increasing and the un-linked social phenomenon is emerging. Thus, the social infrastructure and welfare system established in the past economic growth period are in danger of not functioning properly. People socially isolated or with chronic diseases among the elderly are exposed to various accidents. Thus, an active healthcare management service is imperative. Additionally, in the event of a dangerous situation, the system must have ways to notify guardians (family or medical personnel) regarding appropriate action. Thus, in this paper, we propose the smartphone-based healthcare and emergency response service platform. The proposed service platform aggregates movement of relevant data in real-time using a smartphone. Based on aggregated data, it will always recognize the user's movements and current state using the human motion recognition mechanism. Thus, the proposed service platform provides real-time status monitoring, activity reports, a health calendar, location-based hospital information, emergency situation detection, and cloud messaging server-based efficient notification to several subscribers such as family, guardians, and medical personnel. Through this service, users or guardians can augment the level of care for the elderly through the reports. Also, if an emergency situation is detected, the system immediately informs guardians so as to minimize the risk through immediate response.

Data were obtained from 853 women in the 50's and 60's living in Busan, and were analyzed by factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA, Duncan test, and path analysis using SPSS WIN 12.0 and LISREL 8.53. The results showed that the lifestyle of elderly consumers was classified into three factors, such as Active self-fidelitist, Economy family-oriented, and Passive-stagnant. Service qualities perceived by the elderly in apparel stores were composed of Personal Service, Facilities Service, Product Service, and Policy Service. Generally, the younger cognized their ages most of the elderly were the more importantly perceived store service quality, the greater satisfied with apparel store services, and the more intended to repurchase apparels at a store. However, economic family-oriented elderlys were the younger cognized their ages, the less satisfied with the apparel service. Additionally, personal and policy services of the apparel store were important variables for elderlys' satisfaction with store services. The findings provide potential explanations and managerial implications for the elderly market.

  • Purpose : The home-visiting exercise guidance service is a component of the community-based integrated care policy in District J of Busan Metropolitan City. This study aims to investigate the effects of the service provided by physical therapists on depression, pain, and balance among the elderly. Methods : Three elderly individuals were selected as study participants. Depression was assessed using the beck depression inventory (BDI) and the short geriatric depression scale-Korea (SGDS-K). Pain was evaluated using the visual analog scale (VAS). Balance was assessed using the berg balance scale (BBS), functional reach test (FRT), and timed up and go test (TUGT). The evaluation data were compared by averaging the values from the first and eighth sessions. Additionally, the overall satisfaction with the home-visiting exercise guidance service was surveyed. Results : In the depression assessment, the beck depression inventory score decreased (by 16.67±5.69 points), and the short geriatric depression scale score decreased (by 4.67±2.52 points). The visual analog scale score for pain decreased (by 2.67±0.58 points). In the balance assessment, the berg balance scale score increased (by 7.67±2.52 points), the functional reach test distance extended (by 4.67±0.58 cm), and the timed up and go test time decreased (by 5.33±0.58 s). Overall satisfaction with the home-visiting exercise guidance service was high (4.26±0.14 points). Conclusion : The home-visiting exercise guidance service received high satisfaction ratings from the participants. It was effective in reducing depression and pain while improving balance, potentially reducing fall risk factors among the elderly. These findings suggest that the home-visiting exercise guidance service, delivered by physical therapists, could significantly enhance the quality of life for elderly individuals by addressing issues related to depression, pain, and fall prevention within the community. Consequently, it is recommended that this service be continued and expanded as part of government policy.
