꽃매미의 알과 약충에 대한 26 약제의 살충활성 (Insecticidal Activity of 26 Insectcides against Eggs and Nymphs of Lycorma delicatula (Hemiptera: Fulgoridae))

  • 본 연구는 꽃매미 알의 채집시기별 실내에서의 부화율, 부화기간을 조사하였으며 꽃매미의 알과 1~2령 약충에 대하여 26 약제의 약제감수성을 조사하였다. 야외에서 꽃매미 알은 산란된 시점(2009년 10월~11월)에서 알의 채집시기가 늦어질수록 부화율이 높아졌고, 부화기간도 짧아졌다. 꽃매미 알과 1~2령 약충의 약제감수성 시험결과, chlorpyrifos (312.5ppm)는 꽃매미 알에 대해서 100%의 높은 부화억제효과를 나타내었지만, 나머지 약제는 효과가 없었다. 알의 채집시기별로 chlorpyrifos의 효과는, 배수농도 (625 ppm), 추천농도(312.5 ppm), 반수농도(156.3 ppm)로 검정한 결과, 2010년 4월 20일에 채집된 알은 94.5%이상의 높은 부화억제효과를 나타냈지만, 5월 10일에 채집된 알은 각각 86.7%, 71.1%, 47.1%로 시험농도가 낮아질수록 효과는 낮아졌다. 하지만 부화 약충은 24시간이내에 100% 살충되었다. 5월 15일에 채집된 알은 배수농도를 제외하고 추천농도와 반수농도에서 각각 48.6%, 53.7%로 효과가 낮아졌으며, 부화한 약충의 사망률도 61%, 22%로 낮았다. 그리고 1령과 2령 약충은 모든 약제에 대해서 100% 살충되었다. 이상의 결과에서 늦어도 4월말까지 chlorpyrifos를 처리하는 것이 꽃매미 알에 대한 높은 살충효과를 기대할 수 있다.

Evaluation of Physicochemical Changes in Hard-Boiled Eggs Stored at Different Temperatures

  • Eggs that have been hard-boiled are frequently used as ready-to-eat food. Refrigerated and frozen storage of hard-boiled eggs causes issues, such as customer rejection owing to textural changes. The objective of this research is to ascertain how storage temperature affects hard-boiled eggs' alteration in texture over time. Medium-sized brown shell eggs were acquired from a local market, boiled at 100℃ for 15 min, and then stored at room temperature (25℃), refrigeration (4℃), and freezing (-18℃) conditions for 0, 12, 24, and 48 h. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), texture profile, visual observation using a gemological microscope, free amino acid content, and color were measured. Freezing had a substantial impact on the eggs' hardness, gumminess, chewiness, and cohesiveness (p<0.05). The FTIR spectrums confirmed the textural changes in bonds of amide A (3,271 cm-1), amide I (1,626.2 cm-1), amide II (1,539.0 cm-1), C=O stretch of COO- (1,397 cm-1), asymmetric PO2- stretch (1,240 cm-1). Microscopic images confirmed structural changes in eggs stored at -18℃. The free amino acid content was lower in fresh and frozen eggs than in the rest (p<0.05). However, there was no discernible variation in the egg white's color when eggs were kept at 4℃ (p>0.05). Salmonella spp. was found exclusively in eggs kept at room temperature. In conclusion, hard-boiled eggs did not exhibit structural or chemical changes when stored at 4℃ for up to 48 h compared to freezing and room temperature conditions.

계란의 란중별영양성분 및 적정가격에 관한 조사연구 (Studies on the Nutrient Contents and Optimum Prices of Eggs in Relation to Egg Weight)

  • 본 조사연구는 계란의 중량등급별 영양가를 조사하고 적정가격을 검토하기 위하여 600개의 계란을 공시하여 계란의 중량등급별 평균란중, 란황과 란백 및 란각의 구성비, 란황과 란백의 영양성분 분석, 계란의 단백질과 지방함량 조사를 실시하고, 계란의 란중과 단백질함량 및 단백질+지방함량을 기준으로 하는 적정가격을 검토하였는 바 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 평균란중(X, g/10개)의 증가에 따라 란황의 비율(Y, %)은 Y=44.34-0.02X로 감소하고, 란백의 비율(Y, %)은 Y=40.136+0.026X로 증가하였으며, 란각의 비율(Y, %)은 Y=15.358-0.006X로 감소하였다. 2. 란황과 란백의 영양분석은 계란의 중량에 따라 큰 차이나 일정한 경향을 보이지 않았다. 3. 평균란중(X, g/10개)의 증가에 따라 전란의 단백질함량(Y, %)은 Y=11.943-0.00032X로 감소하고, 지방함량(Y, %)은 Y=13.996-0.00614X로 역시 감소하였으며, 단백질+지방함량(Y, %)는 Y=25.939-0.00646X로 감소하였다. 4. 평균란중을 기준으로 하는 적정가는 단백질함량을 기준으로 하는 적정가와 비슷한 경향을 보였으며, 이들 적정가는 단백질+지방함량을 기준으로 하는 적정가보다 특란과 왕란에서는 높게 그리고 경란-중란에서는 낮게 평가되었으며, 시가와 비교할 때 단백질+지방함량기준 적정가가 가장 비슷한 경향을 보였다.

자아의 내부 생식기내 수정란에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Fertilized Eggs in the Internal Reproductive Organ of the Silkworm Female Moth (Bombyx mori L.))

  • 체내 유존난중에 월년난 고유색으로 착색된 것의 유무와 교미를 필한 잠아를 직시처리구와 약간 산란후 처리구로 구분하여 산란공을 가열한 해부침으로 처리하여 산란을 임의 중절한 다음 일주간을 방치한 후 이를 해부하여 음도 수란관 및 난관기부에 있는 잠란을 각각 채취하여 그 수정여부를 조사 연구한바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 공시아중 불과 5% 내외가 각각 1∼2개의 착색란을 보유하고 있을 뿐더러(Table 1.) 그 착색양상도 월년난고유 색채가 아니고 난관내 잠란의 일반적인 색채와 약간의 차이가 있는 일종의 이상 착색난에 지나지 않는다. 2. 교미 직후 직시처리구에서는 음도에 잠란이 유입되어 있지 않다. 3. 약간 산란후 처리구에서는 공시아수의 약 10%에 해당하는 잠아가 음도 또는 수란관에 1개식의 수정란을 보유하고 있다. 4. 교미 직후 처리구에서는 수란관에 공시아의 약 2%에 해당하는 잠아가 일개식의 수정란을 보유하고 있다. 5. 난관에는 전혀 수정란을 발견할 수 없다. 이는 정자가 난관에 까지 진출하지 못하는 것으로 인정하는 것이 타당할 것이다. 6. 교미직후 직시처리구에서는 대부분 잠난이 난관에 위치하고 있지만 약간 산란후 처리구에서는 산란으로 인하여 잠란의 산란공으로 향한 이동운동이 계속되어 수란관과 음도에 진출되어 있다. 7. 정자는 주로 수정양을 비롯한 음도 근처에 있으면서 이곳을 통과하여 산란공에 향하는 잠란에 부착하므로서 난문을 통하여 난문에 진입하는 것으로 믿어진다.

계란식품PB 구매에 미치는 소비자 요인 분석:대형유통업체 계란상품을 (Analyzing Factors Influencing Purchasing Behavior of PB Eggs: Focusing on Eggs from Large Distribution Companies)

  • Purpose - Eggs are nutritionally complete and one of the most popular natural foods. Moreover, the poultry industry is one of the important food industries. However, early industrialization of the poultry industry on its own did not lead to further development compared to other livestock industries. In this study, we investigate what factors influence consumers' behavior and how consumers' understanding of retail business affects their propensity to consume. This study is different from other studies as it analyzes how the brand names of manufacturers and distribution companies affect the purchasing characteristics or actual purchase behavior of consumers in order to suggest how these manufacturers and distribution companies can increase their competitiveness. Research design, data, methodology - This study conducted a survey of 250 randomly selected egg purchasers in discount stores from January to April 2013. Consumers' purchase tendencies were calculated through frequency analysis. This result was then utilized using cluster analysis to draw a conclusion about which purchase tendency influenced consumers buying three different brands of eggs or whether this tendency really affected consumers. As a result, the outcomes of Hypotheses 2 and 3 were not clear so we drew a conclusion with our analysis of Hypothesis 1. Results - While the outcomes of Hypotheses 2 and 3 did not clearly indicate whether purchasing tendencies affected consumers when buying eggs, our analysis of Hypothesis 1 indicated that consumers were affected by the quality of the eggs rather than exterior factors such as the brand name. Thus, we concluded that it is important to promote the excellence of the quality of the eggs. Usually firms buy eggs from farms and repackage them in order to sell them. In this sense, if consumers were aware of this egg production process, and eggs were fairly distributed to retailers, large retail PB businesses would also be able to enhance their competitiveness. Conclusions - The brand, packaging, retail outlet, and other external features influenced the purchase of eggs to a certain degree, while shelf life, grade of the eggs, cleanliness, and other intrinsic characteristics had more influence. In particular, shelf life was the most important factor influencing purchase. Consumers were influenced not only by intrinsic characteristics of the eggs but also by large-scale producers' brands. Consumers relied upon the brand despite reduced competition because they found it difficult to identify shelf life and/or cleanliness. Small businesses and/or large-scale retailers can remain competitive by maintaining the freshness and cleanliness of the eggs. Further studies need to investigate areas in which consumers' cognition of the product is poor and/or the purchase inclination with regard to less developed industries such as eggs. In this study, the greatest problem was that consumers did not consume in accordance with the current situation as consumers have preferred fresh and clean eggs for a long time compared to purchase decisions based on external brands and/or packaging.

연안 요각류의 성체와 휴면란의 계절별 개체수 변화를 통한 개체군 유지 전략 (The Strategy of Population Maintenance by Coastal Copepod Inferred from Seasonal Variations in Abundance of Adults and Resting Eggs)

  • We investigated seasonal variations in the abundance of the adults and the resting eggs of copepods to understand the role of copepod resting eggs for maintaining their population inhabiting the coastal area of Dadaepo, Korea. Adults and resting eggs of copepods were collected bi-monthly with a conical net (45 cm mouth diameter, $330{\mu}m$ mesh size) and van Veen grab ($0.1m^2$ area), respectively, from October 2016 to September 2017. The species of resting eggs were identified using mtCOI gene. The mean abundance of copepods was highest in October ($3686{\pm}1190inds{\cdot}m^{-3}$) and lowest in January ($176{\pm}60inds{\cdot}m^{-3}$) with the dominance of Paracalanus parvus s.l.. Among copepod producing resting eggs, Acartia omorii and Centropages abdominalis were dominant. The mean abundance of resting eggs was the highest in July ($9148{\pm}6787eggs{\cdot}m^{-2}$) and the lowest in October ($530{\pm}348eggs{\cdot}m^{-2}$). Most of the collected resting eggs were identified as A. omorii's. The mean abundances of A. omorii adults and resting eggs were highest in July, and both abundances fluctuated in a similar pattern except in September. In September, A. omorii adults were observed in a state of low abundance, while their resting eggs occurred in a state of high abundance. These results suggest that A. omorii maintain their population by producing a large quantity of resting eggs, particularly diapause eggs, before the seawater temperature rises. These eggs would hatch and be newly recruited to their population when the environmental condition becomes favorable.

Evaluation of Egg Quality Traits in the Wholesale Market in Sri Lanka during the Storage Period

  • The objective of this study was to assess the external and internal quality traits of eggs in wholesale egg market in Colombo, Sri Lanka and the effect of storage period in egg quality traits in the same market after receiving the eggs. First, a total of 482 fresh eggs were randomly collected from the above market and external egg quality traits were determined and recorded according to the definitions given in the Specification for Chicken Egg SLS 959:1992. After that, a total of 288 fresh eggs were randomly collected and various external and internal egg quality traits were measured and recorded according to the standard procedures over a storage period of 1, 3 and 5 d after receiving the fresh eggs to the wholesale market. Information about the shops was also collected using a pretested questionnaire. Using the recorded data, shape index, Haugh unit, albumen index and yolk index were calculated for each egg. Average weight, width, length and shape index of the eggs in the sample was 59.96 g, 4.33 cm, 5.78 cm and 75.03, respectively. Average shape index value was much closer to the standard value of 74. From the total sample 80.5% eggs had a normal and sound shape. However only 60.37% of the eggs are in the desirable quality range specified in SLS 959:1992, when the overall shell quality of the sample is considered based on shell cleanliness, defects and shape. The results of the current study indicated that eggs had significant (p<0.05) deterioration of all internal quality parameters tested with increasing storage time. However the effect was not significant (p>0.05) between the storage periods of 3 and 5 d after receiving eggs except for yolk color and yolk height. Desirable category of eggs had reduced and rejections had increased with the storage period. Main problems associated with the particular market were less space availability, higher percentages of dirty eggs, unavailability of proper packaging materials, no standard packaging system for eggs, and not implementing a standard grading system for eggs. Therefore the results of this study suggest that proper egg handling and storage conditions such as low temperature storage may be implemented to increase the proportion of desirable quality eggs in the above market.

Sodium Alginate 코팅이 계란의 저장시 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of a Sodium Alginate Coating on Egg Quality during Storage)

  • 계란의 저장성 증진 효과를 검토하기 위해 계란 표면을 sodium alginate 용액으로 코팅하여 $5^{\circ}C,\;25^{\circ}C$에서 저장하면서 저장성 실험 및 코팅 처리된 계란 표면의 미생물 억제 효과 시험을 하였다. 살모넬라균과 같이 음식물의 섭취를 통해서만 감염되는 식중독의 원인 균의 증식 억제 효과 시험에서 $5^{\circ}C$에서 저장 했을 때 대조군에 비해 0.5% sodium alginate처리군이 뛰어난 세균 증식 억제 효과를 보였다. 계란의 pH는 저장 기간에 $CO_2$를 방출하거나 저장 온도가 증가함에 따라 증가하였다. 코팅된 계란의 pH가 대조군의 pH보다 낮게 나타났다. $5^{\circ}C$의 저장 온도에서 대조군의 pH가 7.72에서 7.94의 변화를 보였으며, 0.5%의 sodium algiante 용액으로 코팅한 계란에서는 7.72에서 7.85의 pH 변화가 나타났다. $5^{\circ}C$$25^{\circ}C$에 30일간 저장하면서 난황의 신선도를 나타내는 난황 계수와 계란의 품질을 평가하는 종합적인 수치인 Haugh unit를 측정하였다. Haugh unit은 30일간 저장하였을 경우 대조군인 경우 66.02, 0.5% sodium alginate로 코팅한 경우는 70.37로 얻어졌다. 난황 계수는 0.5% 농도의 시료로 코딩한 계란에서 대조군의 0.39보다 높은 0.42로 나타났다. 이런 연구 결과를 통해서 sodium alginate의 코팅 형성 능력이 계란의 표면에 유해 세균을 억제하고 저장성을 증진시킬 수 있다는 결과를 얻었다.

다회육을 위한 잠종의 인공처리법 비교시험 (The Comparative Experiment of Some Artificial Treat methods of Silkworm Eggs)

  • 년간 누에의 다회육을 하는 경우 어떠한 잠종을 어떻게 처리하여서 여기에 응할 수 있겠는가 하는 시험을 6월 상순부터 9월상순까지 매일 매일마다 처리한 잠종에 대하여 조사한 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) 6월 상, 중순에 사육한 잠종은 복식냉장법과 단식냉장법과에서 차이가 없었으나, 6월 하순용 잠종은 복식냉장법이 양호하였다. 2) 7월 중순용 잠종은 즉침산냉장법이 양호하였다. 3) 7월 하순용 잠종은 즉침산냉장법이 양호하였으나 단기인공처리법에서는 재검토를 요한다. 4) 8월 하순용 잠종은 단기인공처리법으로서는 더욱 검토하여야 하고 또한 다른 방법을 강구하여야 하겠다. 5) 8월 중순용 잠종은 냉침법이 양호하나, 단기인공처리법도 가능성이 있어 앞으로 검토를 요한다. 6) 9월 상순용은 종래와 같은 냉침법이 양호하고, 또 냉침법은 앞으로 검토를 요한다.

Effects of Some Pesticides on Development of Ascaris suum Eggs

  • To evaluate the effects of pesticides to parasite eggs, Ascaris suum eggs were incubated with 5 different pesticides (1:1,500-1:2,000 dilutions of 2% emamectin benzoate, 5% spinetoram, 5% indoxacarb, 1% deltamethrin, and 5% flufenoxuron; all v/v) at $20^{\circ}C$ for 6 weeks, and microscopically evaluated the egg survival and development on a weekly basis. The survival rate of A. suum eggs incubated in normal saline (control eggs) was $90{\pm}3%$ at 6 weeks. However, the survival rates of eggs treated with pesticides were 75-85% at this time, thus significantly lower than the control value. Larval development in control eggs commenced at 3 weeks, and $73{\pm}3%$ of eggs had internal larvae at 6 weeks. Larvae were evident in pesticide-treated eggs at 3-4 weeks, and the proportions of eggs carrying larvae at 6 weeks ($36{\pm}3%-54{\pm}3%$) were significantly lower than that of the control group. Thus, pesticides tested at levels similar to those used in agricultural practices exhibited low-level ovicidal activity and delayed embryogenesis of A. suum eggs, although some differences were evident among the tested pesticides.
