대구시 공공건축물의 에너지 소비 원단위에 관한 연구 (An Analysis on the Energy Consumption Unit of the Public buildings in Daegu)

  • An energy problem has become one of the many Problems awaiting solution to human society. Energy needs to support not only industry, but also building in city. The types of residential building, office building and public building account for much proportion among the totally amount used energy. A public institution shows a fine example for an energy conservation in the present situation. But, the amount used energy of electricity, air-conditioning and heating is different from a building use and condition. Because the building data of the energy consumption by a load is insufficient, it is unable to select a proper energy source. According to this study, it analyzed an energy load by each building that had investigated the actual conditions of energy consumption about public buildings in Daegu City. In order to plan the efficient energy use both existing buildings and new buildings, this study will present the efficient energy use plan, which has operated to new buildings of a public institution, at present.

  • This paper proposes the cost analysis on the energy efficient equipment when this equipment is participated in the demand-side bidding. Conventional demand-side bidding is exercised through load re-distribution. However if this load reduction is exercised by the use of high efficient equipment, its effect will be assumed to be more economical. This paper analyses this cost-benefit effect of high efficient equipment in the demand-side bidding.

센서 네트워크에서 모바일 싱크를 위한 효율적인 라우팅 기법 (An Efficient Routing Protocol for Mobile Sinks in Sensor Networks)

  • Sensors have limited resources in sensor networks, so efficient use of energy is important. In order to use the energy of the sensor node efficiently, researches applying mobile sink to the sensor network have been actively carried out. The sink node moves the sensor network, collects data from each sensor node, which spread the energy concentrated around the sink node, thereby extending the entire life cycle of the network. But, when the sink node moves, it requires a reset of the data transmission path, which causes a lot of control messages and delays. In this paper, we propose a CMS(Cluster-based Mobile Sink) method to support the movement of mobile sink in a cluster sensor environment. The proposed scheme minimizes an amount of control messages without resetting the routing paths of entire sensor networks by supporting the sink mobility path using the neighbor cluster list. And, it simplifies the routing path setup process by setting a single hop path between clusters without a gateway. The experiment results show that the proposed scheme has superior energy efficiency in processing and network structure, compared with existing clustering and mesh routing protocols.

창호의 열관류율, 일사취득계수와 향의 배치가 건물의 냉난방 부하에 미치는 영향에 관한 지역별 비교연구 (Comparative Analysis on the Heating and Cooling Loads Associated with U-value, SHGC and Orientation of the Windows in Different Regions)

  • The primary goal of this research is to identify the impacts of window design on the energy use in buildings which takes up about 25% of the total energy consumption. Recently, efficient use of energy is gaining more importance in buildings. Window design, especially being dependent on glazing performance choices, is an important factor for reducing energy consumption in most of the buildings. It also is influenced by the latitude of the site and window orientation. This paper aims at identifying the influence of Window performance indicators(U-value, SHGC), orientation and latitude on the building energy consumption with systematically designed simulations. Comparative study has been performed for five different locations; Greenland, Korea, Singapore, Argentina and Chile along with the different window U-value and SHGC values. The results show that optimum window system with properly coordinated window performance indicators(U-value, SHGC), orientation achieves dramatic reduction of energy consumptions. Windows with low U-value could reduce heating loads and high SHGC could reduce cooling loads. The study also verifies that the windows installed at south facade is more energy efficient in the northern hemisphere while windows facing north is more energy efficient in the southern hemisphere.

  • As the cooling energy requirement in an office building increases due to the increased internal heat gains, the effort to minimize the energy consumption through efficient operation of existing HVAC systems will be beneficial. In this study, one of the energy conserving efforts in an office building, operational strategies of Economizer Cycle Control have been investigated through DOE-2.1E computer simulation. The findings can be summarized : 1) Economizer Cycle Control saves energy throughout the year, 2) Econo-Limit-T must be applied seasonally based on the outside and return air conditions, 3) use of Enthalpy control is more energy efficient than that of Temperature control.

  • Currently, the Underwater Sensor Networks (UWSNs) is mainly an interesting area due to its ability to provide a technology to gather many valuable data from underwater environment such as tsunami monitoring sensor, military tactical application, environmental monitoring and many more. However, UWSNs is suffering from limited energy, high packet loss and the use of acoustic communication. In UWSNs most of the energy consumption is used during the forwarding of packet data from the source to the destination. Therefore, many researchers are eager to design energy efficient routing protocol to minimize energy consumption in UWSNs. As the opportunistic routing (OR) is the most promising method to be used in UWSNs, this paper focuses on the existing proposed energy efficient OR protocol in UWSNs. This paper reviews the existing proposed energy efficient OR protocol, classifying them into 3 categories namely sender-side-based, receiver-side-based and hybrid. Furthermore each of the protocols is reviewed in detail, and its advantages and disadvantages are discussed. Finally, we discuss potential future work research directions in UWSNs, especially for energy efficient OR protocol design.

  • Several efforts to replace the use of existing fossil energy resources have already been made around the world. As a result, a new industry of renewable energy has been created, and efficient energy distribution and storage has been promoted intensively. Among the newly explored renewable energy sources, the most widely used one is solar energy generation, which has a high market potential. An energy storage system (ESS) is a system as required. In this paper, the design and implementation of an ESS for the efficient use of power in stand-alone street lights is presented. In current ESS applied to stand-alone street lights, either 12V~24V DC (from solar power) or 110V~220V AC (from commercial power) is used to recharge power in systems with lithium batteries. In this study, an ESS that can support both solar power and commercial power was designed and implemented; it can also perform emergency recharge of portable devices from solar powered street lights. This system can maximize the scalability of ESSes using lithium batteries with efficient energy conversion, with the advantage of being an eco-friendly technology. In a ripple effect, it can also be applied to smart grids, electric vehicles, and new, renewable storage markets where energy storage technology is required.

  • 제안된 논문은 기지국의 에너지 효율을 최대화하기 위한 에너지 전송 방식에 관한 것으로, 기존의 데이터 처리량과 송신전력 사이의 지수 함수적 관계에 따른 비효율적 문제를 해결함으로써 서비스의 유형에 따른 데이터를 분류하고, 무선 네트워크 환경의 기지국에서 사용자 들에게 전송 되는 최적의 데이터 량에 따른 에너지 최적화 지점을 찾아내는 방법이다. 이를 위해, 기지국에서 사용자에게 전송되는 데이터의 양 및 유지시간을 조절하여 데이터 전송의 에너지 효율 최적화 지점을 찾을 수 있는 EETA 알고리즘(Energy-Efficient Transmission Algorithm)을 제안한다. 결과적으로 제안한 방식은 기존 기지국 대비 에너지 효율이 약 10% 향상됨을 알 수 있다.

  • 무선 센서 네트워크에서 가장 큰 문제 중의 한 가지는 네트워크를 구성함에 있어 에너지 소모를 최소화하는데 있다. 센서 네트워크에서 에너지를 효율적으로 사용하기 위해서 주로 다음과 같은 두 종류의 방식을 사용한다. 한 가지는 동적 전력 관리를 사용하는 것이며, 다른 한 가지는 에너지 효율적인 프로토콜을 사용하는 것이다. 전자의 경우 전원 관리자는 해당하는 이벤트들에 대해서 CPU와 해당 I/O들의 적절한 전원 상태를 관리할 책임이 있다. 하지만, 주어진 프로토콜의 내부 동작에 대해서는 관여하지 못한다. 그것은 충돌 등으로 인한 통신 상태에서의 지연에 의한 불필요한 에너지를 낭비할 가능성이 크다. 반면에 에너지 효율적인 프로토콜들은 단지 무선 모뎀의 전원 상태만을 고려한다. 본 논문에서 우리는 통신 이벤트 기반의 전력 관리를 통한 무선 센서 노드들의 불필요한 전력 소비를 충분히 줄일 수 있는 에너지 효율적인 전력 관리 방안을 제안하고, 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안하는 전력 관리 방식이 상당한 에너지를 절약 할 수 있음을 보인다.
