외부경계층 수직 날의 저항저감효과에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Assessment of the Drag Reduction Efficiency of the Outer-layer Vertical Blades)

  • An experimental assessment has been made of the drag reducing efficiency of the outer-layer vertical blades, which were first devised by Hutchins (2003). The drag reduction efficiency of the blades was reported to reach as much as 30%. The assessment of the drag reducing efficiency is mainly restricted to the downstream region of the blades. Indeed, sufficient care has not been taken to such adverse effects as the increase in the wetted surface area and the flow disturbances due to the presence of the blades. In the present study, a series of drag force measurements in towing tank and circulating water channel has been performed toward the assessments of the total drag reduction efficiency of the outer-layer vertical blades.

어선용 디젤엔진의 배출가스 저감 필터 개발과 저감 효율 (Development and efficiency of filter device for the emission reduction from the diesel engine in fishing boat)

  • The performance of five kind adsorbents, which can reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) from the diesel engine occupying 85% of the fishing boat, was carried out and the emission reduction filter was manufactured and evaluated in the adsorption efficiency of the emission gas for 240 KW diesel portable generator. As a NOx emission filter made of mordenite which has an excellent cation exchange capacity was manufactured by ball type adsorbents having excellent specific surface area. The adsorption efficiency of mordenite material applying the emission reduction filter began to show up at the operating time 10 minutes in comparison with the activated carbon and zeolite materials, and it was exposed to continue until 100% capability with passing by 20 minutes. So the adsorption efficiency of the NOx reduction filter consistently maintained at the averaged 80%.

  • There was no significant difference in the CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) between physical aerosols, NaCl and smoke, and biological aerosols, airborne MS2 virus and P. fluorescens, which implicate that the hybrid-type of air purifier, applying the unipolar ion emission and the radiant catalytic ionization, imposed identical reduction effect on both physical aerosol and bioaerosol. Ventilation decreases the efficiency of air cleaning by unipolar ionization because high ventilation diminishes the particle concentration reduction effect. The particle removal efficiency decreases with increase in the chamber volume because of the augmented ion diffusion and higher ion wall loss rate. Particle size affects the efficiency of air ionization. The efficiency is high for particles with very small diameter because reduction of charge increases with particle size. If there is no increasing supply of ions, the efficiency of air cleaning by unipolar ionization increases with respect to initial concentration of particles because of the large space charge effect at high particle concentration and amplified electric field.

  • Recently, the problem of global warming caused by greenhouse gases is getting serious due to the development of industry and the increase in transportation means. Accordingly, the need for a technology to reduce carbon dioxide, which accounts for most of the greenhouse gas, is increasing. Among them, a catalyst for converting carbon dioxide into fuel is being actively studied. Catalysts for reducing carbon dioxide are classified into thermal catalysts and photocatalysts. In particular, the photocatalyst has the advantage that carbon dioxide can be reduced only by irradiating ultraviolet rays at room temperature without high temperature or additional gas. TiO2 is widely used as a photocatalyst because it is non-toxic and has high stability, but has a disadvantage of low carbon dioxide reduction efficiency. To increase the reduction efficiency, 1-propanol was used in the synthesis process. This prevents agglomeration of the catalyst and increases the specific surface area and pores of TiO2, thereby increasing the surface area in contact with carbon dioxide. As a result of measuring the CO2 reduction efficiency, it was confirmed that the efficiency of TiO2 with 1-propanol and TiO2 without 1-propanol was 19% and 12.3%, respectively, and the former showed a 1.5 times improved efficiency.

차동 링기어 방식의 고비율 유성기어 감속기 개발 (Development of High-Ratio Planetary Reduction Gears Applied Differential Ring Gear Type)

  • Automation facilities of greenhouses have been continuously developed. However, the conventional two-stage worm gear reducer reveals some problems, including low transmission efficiency. The worm gear reducer also have some difficulties in manufacturing and short life. Therefore, this study was performed to develop a planetary gear reducer, having a high Sear reduction ratio and high torque transmission efficiency. The planetary gear system consisted of a fixed ring gear and a 2-teeth differential ring gear turning slow, as the planetary pinion orbits fast around the fixed ring gear. The developed gear system can achieve a high speed reduction rate at one stage. The reducing system was employed to the greenhouse ventilation system. The reducer has the transmission efficiency of 70.5%, 2∼3 times longer life time, and twofold roll-up torque at an affordable price, comparing with conventional reducers. This reducer can be also applied to many industrial equipments, such as industrial crane, hoist, elevator and gondola etc.

자료포락분석(DEA) 기법을 활용한 도로이동오염원 저감대책의 효율성 분석 (Efficiency Evaluation of Mobile Emission Reduction Countermeasures Using Data Envelopment Analysis Approach)

  • 본 연구는 자료포락분석(Data Envelopment Analysis: DEA) 기법을 활용하여 도로이동오염원 저감대책의 상대적 효율성 평가와 그에 기반하여 우선순위를 결정하였다. 현재 시행 중이거나 장래 계획 가능한 도로이동오염원 저감 대책들을 근거로 실효성 높은 자동차 온실가스와 대기오염물질 저감 대책 10개를 선정하여 시나리오를 구성하였으며, 대기오염물질 4개(CO, HC, NOX, PM), 온실가스 3개($CO_2$, $CH_4$, $N_2O$)물질에 대해 장래 통행패턴을 고려한 교통수요예측모형과 가변적 복합배출계수를 활용하여 2027년도를 최종 목표년도로 저감량을 산정하였다. 저감 대책들 간의 상대적 효율성을 평가하기 위해 DEA모형 중 초효율성 분석을 수행한 결과, 승용차 요일제 참여 확대 대책이 효율성 점수 1.879로 가장 우선순위가 높은 저감대책으로 선정되었으며, 버스전용차로 확대, CNG버스 보급 대책의 효율성이 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 자동차 온실가스와 대기오염물질 저감대책 우선순위 선정 결정 시 절대적인 자료로 활용될 수는 없지만 저감대책의 방향성을 제시하고 있으므로 향후 자동차 배출량 저감 정책방향 설정 및 체계적인 중장기 저감대책 수립에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

비이온 계면활성제의 마찰 및 열교환효율 저감 특성 연구 (Study on the Drag Reduction and Heat Transfer Efficiency Reduction of the Non-Ionic Surfactant)

  • The drag reduction (DR) and heat transfer efficiency reduction (HTER) of nonionic surfactant according to the fluid velocity, temperature and surfactant concentration were investigated experimentally. For this study, several kinds of new surfactant which contains amine-oxide and betaine were developed. And experimental apparatus equipped with two water storage tanks temperature controlled, pumps, testing pipe network, two flowmeters, two pressure gauges, heat exchanger, and data logging system was built. Results showed that existing alkyl ammonium surfactant (CTAC) had DR of $0.6{\sim}0.8$ for $1,000{\sim}2,000\;ppm$ in fluid temperature of $50{\sim}60^{\circ}C$ and had very low DR in fluid temperature over $70^{\circ}C$. And new amino oxide and betaine surfactant (SAOB) had lower DR in fluid temperature of $50{\sim}60^{\circ}C$ compared with CTAC but in fluid temperature of $70{\sim}80^{\circ}C$ DR was $0.6{\sim}0.8$ for 1$1,000{\sim}2,000\;ppm$.

사이드스커트와 보트테일을 이용한 대형화물차량의 연비개선 효과 및 온실가스 감축량 추정 (Estimation of GHG Emissions Reduction and Fuel Economy Improvement of Heavy-Duty Trucks by Using Side Skirt and Boat Tail)

  • Recently, the need for technology development of commercial vehicle fuel consumption has emerged. Fuel economy improvement of transport equipment and transportation efficiency, and increasing attention to the logistics cost reduction measures. Increasing attention to the logistics cost reduction measures by fuel economy improvement of transport equipment and transportation efficiency. In this study, we have installed aerodynamic reduction device (side skirt, boat tail) to 14.5 ton cargo trucks and 45 ft tractor-trailers. And the fuel consumption was compared installed before and after. Fuel economy assessment for the aerodynamic reduction value device was tested by modifying the SAE J1321 Joint TMC/SAE Fuel Consumption Test Procedure - Type II test in according domestic situation. Greenhouse gas reductions were calculated in accordance with the scenario, including fuel consumption test results. When the 14.5 ton cargo trucks has been equipped with side skirts and boat tail, it confirmed the improvement in fuel efficiency of 4.72%. One Heavy-duty truck's the annual greenhouse gas reductions value are $6.86ton\;CO_2\;eq$. And if applying the technology to more than 50% of registered 15 ton trucks, greenhouse gas reductions are calculated as $686,826ton\;CO_2\;eq./yr$.

SCR 촉매와 AOC 촉매에서 환원제 분사에 따른 $NO_x$ 저감효율과 $NH_3$ 변환효율에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on $NO_x$ Reduction Efficiency and $NH_3$ Conversion Efficiency under Various Conditions of Reductant Injection on SCR and AOC)

  • As the environmental regulation of vehicle emission is strengthened, investigations for $NO_x$ and PM reduction strategies are popularly conducted. Two current available technologies for continuous $NO_x$ reduction onboard diesel vehicles are Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) using aqueous urea and lean $NO_x$ trap (LNT) catalysts. The experiments were conducted to investigate the $NO_x$ reduction performance of SCR system which can control the ratio of $NO/NO_2$, temperature and SV(space velocity), and the model gas was used which is similar to a diesel exhaust gas. The maximum reduction efficiency is indicated when the $NO:NO_2$ ratio is 1:1 and the SV is 30,000 $h^{-1}$ in $300^{\circ}C$. Generally, ammonia slip from SCR reactors are rooted to incomplete conversion of $NH_3$ over the SCR. In this research, slip was occurred in 6cases (except low SV and $NO:NO_2$ ratio is 1:1) after SCR. Among 6 case of slip occurrence, the maximum conversion efficiency is observed when SV is 60,000 $h^{-1}$ in $400^{\circ}C$.

파일럿 규모의 흐름반응기에서 유기 및 무기 첨가제가 질소산화물의 선택적 무촉매 환원반응에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Organic and Inorganic Additives on Selective Non Catalytic Reduction Reaction of NOx in a Pilot Scale Flow Reactor)

  • 파일럿 크기의 흐름반응기에서 유기와 무기 첨가제가 질소산화물의 선택적 무촉매 환원반응에 미치는 영향을 공정변수 변화에 따라 고찰하였다. 질소산화물 저감효율은 반응기의 체류시간과 초기 NOx 농도 증가에 따라 증가하였다. 요소용액에 의한 NOx 환원반응은 $850^{\circ}C$에서 시작되어 $970^{\circ}C$에서는 최대값을 나타내었으며, NSR = 2.0까지 증가 하였다. 유기첨가제로서 에탄올과 페놀의 첨가는 온도창을 저온 영역으로 이동시켰으며, 에탄올 구조내의 탄화수소에 의한 부반응으로 최대의 NOx 저감효율이 감소하였다. NaOH 첨가는 NaOH의 연쇄반응과 $N_2O$ 저감으로 인하여 온도창을 확대시키고, 최대 NOx 저감효율을 10% 정도 향상시켰다.
