Uncertainty of Efficiency Equation of Solar Thermal Collectors (태양열 집열기 효율식의 불확도)

  • Thermal performance tests of solar thermal collectors include determination of coefficient parameters in an efficiency equation. The parameters can be estimated using regression method to minimize an objective function as sum of differences between measured efficiency data and regressed efficiency equation. However, this conventional approach doesn't consider measurement uncertainties. In this presentation, a method to determine regression parameters in the efficiency equation and uncertainties of the parameters is described with mainly mathematical expressions based on literature reviews. In the method, parameters in the equation for collector efficiency can be determined using regression analysis with a weighting factor in the objective function. The weighting factor can be uncertainties of the differences between measured and fitted efficiencies. To evaluate the approach, performance estimation of a solar collector using the efficiency equation with uncertainties is compared to the result using the conventional efficiency equation by a simulated way for a case in one of previous studies.

  • We presented the methods calculating the reduction efficiency of nitrogen oxide for the low $NO_x$ burner as the pollution prevention facilities. The standard $NO_x$ concentration was used on the emission factor of LNG, $3.7g/m^3$. The $NO_x$ reduction efficiency based on the $NO_x$ concentration was presented and the relationships between the $NO_x$ concentration and the emission factor or the specific heat emission factor were derived. These results could be accurately reflected on calculating the amount of the nitrogen oxide emissions. In addition, according to the arrangement of the low $NO_x$ burners the methods of applying their $NO_x$ reduction efficiency were proposed. The $NO_x$ reduction efficiency for the facilities consisting of the low $NO_x$ burners and the non-low $NO_x$ burners could be estimated with information about the reduction efficiency of each low $NO_x$ burners, the fuel consumption rate, and the heating value of fuel.

  • Dye-sensitized solar cell has many internal resistant components such as Pt counter electrode, $TiO_2$/dye/electrolyte, charge diffusion, sheet resistance of TCO. Among these, the resistance about the counter electrode can be reduced by increasing the roughness factor of Pt counter electrode. This causes the increase of fill factor and improvement of efficiency. And the amount of light reflection on the counter electrode also increases as the roughness factor goes up. In our experiment, we suggest a new deposition structure of Pt thin film that is a stepped-type structure. The more step lines are in the counter electrode, the more roughness factor is. As a result, we get the improvement of fill factor and efficiency by controlling the roughness factor of counter electrode.

  • For a reasonable analysis of grade efficiency of cyclone separator, in-line measurements of particle size and particle concentration are needed. The purpose of this study is to define the correlation of measurement data and to measure grade efficiency and pressure drop. The authors adapted that the grade efficiency could be calculated directly from the counted particle numbers. The problem of collection efficiency calculation was different from counting rate of aerosol counters under the same conditions. It is important factor to use the rate of the particle counters to obtain reliable results. Therefore, the authors should use and calculate compensation factor considering sensitivity of aerosol counters, gas velocity and concentration affect higher 30% than originally measured grade efficiency. As the pressure drop and grade efficiency increase, as flow rate increase and then also pressure drop and grade efficiency increase.

  • In this research, the Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA) was applied to measure production efficiency of Public Corporation Medical Centers(PCMCs) operating in Korea. The focus of this research is triple. First, identifing convenience and usefulness of DEA to measure the relative efficiency among PCMCs. Second, assessing magnitudes of the relative efficiency for each PCMC. Third, adding insights into some factors resulting inefficiency in PCMCs. Then, in this paper technical efficiency and scale efficiency measured by DEA[introduced by Charnes, Cooper, and Rhoides(1978) and Banker, Charnes, and Cooper(1984)] were analyzed and a new separate variable was introduced which makes it possible to determine whether operations were conducted in regions of increasing, constant or decresing returns to scale(in multiple input and output situations). And a multi-factor Tobit analysis was conducted to see which variables are associated with PCMC's efficiency.

  • This study aims to elevate the usefulness of the current annual Accreditation of Hospitals. To achieve this purpose, A modeling of an efficiency analysis based on DEA and AHP to the Accreditation of Hospitals Data from 2004 to 2008. By applying to AHP and DEA_AR to the scores derived from the various domains in data, An adequate prediction model about conversion factor in fee contract is made. By summarizing information derived from DEA, factor analysis and Generalized Linear Model, The linear functions combining conversion factor and efficiency index is successfully established. The factor analysis with AHP was used to merge diverse scores from the domains of evaluation. Not only the input and output initially introduced, AHP scores, dummy variables of hospital classification, geographical location are effective variables to forecast a conversion factor. If a predicted conversion factors from efficiency is used, It will be a great contributions to the annul doctor's fee contract.

  • This paper proposes a power factor correction circuit with a high efficiency over a wide load range characteristics for a communication power supply. And the characteristic verification is applied to produce a design of prototype. Power factor correction circuit can reduce conduction losses by applying Bridgeless Boost Converter for efficiency. Over a wide load range to maintain the efficient, the control method of a PWM controller is divided by two sections according to the load area. In the low-load region, it was reduced switching losses by applying the critical conduction mode control method. On the other hand, in the heavy-load area, the hysteresis current control method is used to maintain the high efficiency over a wide load range by limiting the peak noise of the inductor.

A Study on Sustainable Development Efficiency of Foreign Trade in Western China Based on DEA Model

  • The purpose of this paper is output oriented, in order to maximize the output level of sustainable development efficiency of foreign trade in western China with limited input. This paper adopts the relevant input-output indicators of sustainable foreign trade development of 11 provinces and cities in western China from 2016 to 2020, and uses DEA model to measure their technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency. Malmquist index was used to calculate the total factor productivity change index of each province in western China from 2016 to 2020. We found that, on the whole, the average values of technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of provinces and cities in western China from 2016 to 2020 are greater than 0.8, indicating that the western region has high technical efficiency, relatively high management and institutional level and high existing scale level. Scale efficiency is lower than pure technical efficiency on the whole, indicating that the current sustainable development efficiency of foreign trade in western China is mainly limited by its scale level. The technological progress index is higher than the technological efficiency change index, indicating that the total factor productivity of the sustainable development of foreign trade in western China is mainly driven by technological progress and more influenced by external factors. We think the conclusion of this study can provide important reference information for the sustainable development of foreign trade of provinces and cities in western China.

  • This paper presents equipment for charging and discharging with high power factor aid high efficiency. This equipment is consisted of $3{\phi}$SPWM AC/DC converter for improving input current waveform and input power factor, and bidirectional DC/DC converter for electric isolation in the DC link Part. Therefore, Input power factor and the total efficiency in the proposed system can be increased more than in the conventional phase-controlled thyristor Charging - Discharging System.

  • This paper presents a high frequency electronic ballast with high efficiency and high power factor. The proposed ballast have driven by the half bridge inverter which is linked diode rectifier without DC link capacitor. Minimized elements of circuit configurations can make the efficiency of the ballast increase. High input power factor which is up to 0.96 can be achieved and the crest factor of lamp current waveforms is controlled with below 1.75 by using a novel control scheme which has PFM and PWM methods simultaneously. In this paper, the circuit configurations of the proposed ballast and the control schemes are described. The usefulness of the proposed ballast is confirmed with the simulation results.
