In this paper, we propose an effective time-of-arrival (TOA)-based localization method with adaptive bias computation in indoor environments. The goal of the localization is to estimate an accurate target's location in wireless localization system. However, in indoor environments, non-line-of-sight (NLOS) errors block the signal propagation between target device and base station. The NLOS errors have significant effects on ranging between two devices for wireless localization. In TOA-based localization, finding the target's location inside the overlapped area in the TOA-circles is difficult. We present an effective localization method using compensated distance with adaptive bias computation. The proposed method is possible for the target's location to estimate an accurate location in the overlapped area using the measured distances with subtracted adaptive bias. Through localization experiments in indoor environments, estimation error is reduced comparing to the conventional localization methods.

In personal communication systems location management of mobile terminals is required to connect incoming calls to the mobile terminals. Investigation of effective location update and paging strategies is important to reduce the cost of location management. In this study, we propose a paging strategy considering the mobile terminals' residence patterns. The first paging area is characterized by the set of cells in the location area where mobile terminals usually stay for a significant period of time. The rest of cells in the location area are included into the second paging area. To reduce the paging cost the first paging area is decided by reflecting various residence patterns of mobile terminals. For an incoming call, the sequential paging is performed in the order of the paging area. Thus the paging cost is greatly reduced, especially when the called mobile terminal is located in the first paging area. The proposed strategy is expected to be more effective than an existing strategy that uses the anchor cell in the location area.

The Location Based Services comprised GIS and Telecommunication allow users to receive various services based on their geographic location. It is need to legislation to encourage the provision and use of location information by providing privacy protection to users. But the contents of the legislation proposed by Korean government have problems conflicted between protection of a person's location information and invigoration of location-based services. The purpose of this study is to search complementary measures for privacy protection of location information from From a viewpoint of effective management strategy for geographic information.

This paper describes the fault location technique using wavelets in transmisson line. Estimation of fault location is performed using synchronized data sampled at two ends of line and travelling wave. The similar current wave modeled in PSCAD/EMTDC and MATLAB was applied to evaluate the accuracy of theory proposed in this paper. The results of fault location shown in this paper will be evaluated as an effective suggestion for fault location in real transmisson line

Experimental study was made to find the effective ways for cooling of engine room in a power car through natural ventilation, forced ventilation and wind tunnel test of 1:10 model. Through the measurements of inner temperature of engine room and pressure distribution of model surface for the various opening combinations and the fan locations, the following results are obtained. For natural ventilation, side and top opening combination is more effective than the side openings only and optimal opening combination is all side openings with top center opening. For forced ventilation with fan on the roof, the combination of all sides and top opening is more effective than the combination of side and top opening, and the optimal location of fan is top center. When the model is located in the air stream, the combination of side and top opening is more effective than the side openings only, and the optimal location of top opening is the front opening. With both air stream and forced ventilation, the optimal location of fan is the side region, and the direction of side grill installation is found to have negligible effect on the room ventilation.

The purpose of this paper is to take a closer look at an area having shorted emergence facilities and to determine optional candidate sites instead of vulnerable area by using GIS spatial analysis. Newly determined new candidate is performed by concerning spatial efficiency and spatial equity for a public service. It was determined through using the analyzing of the physical accessibility measure, the Location-Allocation, sort of classic model in spatial statistics and general network analysis. The area of this research has been used in administrative boundary of Young-Dong in Gangneung including 13 emergency, medical hospitals, 46 fire-stations and sub-fire stations. In general terms, what all this show is that the way we are approached for geographical view from using GIS spatial analyzing technique of determined location and allocation problem by the social, economical, political factor and simple administrative discrimination at the meantime. At the same time, with problem occurred in the space it is possible to make an Effective proposal or means, policy, decision for new candidate location-allocation suggesting optimum model.

최근 인터넷을 기반으로 사물을 연결하여 사람과 사물 간의 정보 소통을 가능하게 하는 지능형 서비스로서 사물 인터넷 서비스(IoT)에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 특히 스마트 기기의 발전과 더불어 실내 위치 기반 서비스에 대한 수요는 급격히 증가하고 있다. 실내 위치 정보 측정을 위해 BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) 기술의 iBeacon이 제공하는 기본적인 신호만을 이용하면 신호 간섭 등의 다양한 이유로 신뢰할 수 없는 신호 데이터로 인해 실내 위치 정보의 신뢰도는 현격히 낮아지게 된다. 본 논문에서는 iBeacon의 신호 정보로 부터 신뢰성 있는 위치 정보를 얻기 위해 유전 연산을 통해 효과적이고 신뢰도 높은 위치 정보를 얻는 기법을 제안한다.

For an incoming call. we perform the sequential paging by the order of the first paging area and the rest of cells in the location area called by the second paging area. Thus the paging cost is greatly reduced, especially when the called mobile terminal is located in the first paging area. The proposed strategy is expected to be more effective than existing strategy using anchor cell in the location area because it reflects various residence patterns of mobile terminals.

To reduce inference of any power delivery failures in underground power cable, power system operators are trying to find effective way of finding fault location as soon as possible. But it is very difficult to find fault location exactly for underground power cable. We are developing fault location system for underground power cable which can detect its fault location exactly. This new system monitors current and voltage of underground power cable by using low voltage and current sensors and if there are any accidents, it records its transient signal. Fault location is calculated by analyzing recorded signal. To develop fault location system for power cable, we needed fault simulation system and we installed it physically and tested. In this rapers, we describe on describe of fault location system for underground power cable.
