효율적인 자기 주도적 학습 진단을 위한 문제 출제 알고리즘 (Examination Questions Selection Algorithm for Efficient Self-Directed Loarning diagnosis)

  • 이러닝 문제은행기반 출제시스템에서 많은 학습자들은 난이도에 따른 자동 출제 문제들을 기반으로 스스로를 진단함으로써 자기 주도적으로 학습을 진행한다. 이러한 방식에서 학습자들의 효율적인 자기 주도적 학습 진행을 위해서는 정당한 방법으로 출제되는 문제가 무엇보다 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 효율적인 자기 진단 평가를 위해, 평가의 종류에 따라 난이도뿐만 아니라 학습 범위와 문제의 키워드를 함께 고려하는 새로운 방법의 문제 출제 알고리즘을 제시한다. 이는 기존의 난이도만을 고려한 자동 출제 방식에 비해 자기 주도적 학습자에게 보다 효과적인 학습 진단 방법을 제공할 수 있다.

마인드맵, 컨셉트맵 그리고 브이맵과 수학학습 (Learning Mathematics with Mind map, Concept map and Vee maps)

  • 본 연구는 마인드맵, 컨셉트맵 그리고 브이맵을 활용하여 수학학습하는 방법에 대해서 모색한다. 각각의 맵의 특성, 맵의 구조, 맵의 작성방법과 활용가능성 및 의의를 상세히 분석하고 수학교육과 어떻게 활용될 수 있는지 제시한다. 마인드맵은 인간의 사고를 최대한 가능하게 해주는 새로운 학습의 개념으로서 시간을 효과적으로 활용하고 그 학습효과를 최대로 할 수 있으며 컨셉트맵은 학습자들이 학습한 수많은 개념들을 체계적으로 제시할 뿐만 아니라 그들 사이의 관계를 시각적으로 구성하여 제시한다. 마지막으로 브이맵은 학습자들의 살아있는 생생한 지식이 되고 또 다른 탐구를 유도하는 그런 역할을 수행하는데 특히 도움이 되며 탐구를 시작하기 전에 알고자하는 질문을 던짐으로써 시작한다.

4년제 간호대학(과) 아동간호학 실습교육의 현황과 발전방향 (Evaluation of Clinical Practicum for Child Health Nursing)

  • Purpose: The purpose of study was to describe and evaluate the educational status regarding clinical practicum for child health nursing to facilitate student's clinical compliance for the bachelor's degree in Korea. Methods: The study was a descriptive study and included data from 40 institutions among the 53 university nursing programs in Korea(75.5% response rate). Data were collected using mailed semi structured questionnaires and content analysis was done. Results: Findings show that most institutions have common learning objectives for the clinical practicum; neonatal care, high risk infant care, hospitalized child care, and advanced nursing practice. The mode for theoretical credits in child health nursing was 5 to 6 and 3 to 4 credits for clinical practice. The practice settings were prepared to provide diverse experiences, including childcare centers, and community centers with various learning activities. Evaluation for learning outcomes included faculty and instructors. It was pointed out that updating evaluation based on student and faculty feedback is important for a comprehensive practicum evaluation. Conclusions: Findings suggest that there is a -need for a generalized curriculum for clinical practicum and for the expanding role of advanced nursing practice-, a need for diverse clinical settings for practice, and effective guidance and learning activities. It is significantly noted that the attitude and teaching methodologies of clinical instructor's are highly important to effective clinical learning outcomes.

초등과학의 '지구와 우주' 분야에서 POE 수업모형 적용이 과학탐구능력 및 학업성취도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of POE Model on Science Process Skills and Academic Achievement in Domain 'Earth and Space' of Elementary School Science)

  • The purpose of this research is to explore the effects of the POE(Prediction-Observation-Explanation) teaching-learning model on the academic achievement and the capability of scientific inquiry of elementary school students. POE teaching-learning model is a three stage process modeling scientific inquiry : Prediction, Observation, and Explanation. This research is to see the effectiveness of the POE method in earth science class by applying this simple practical strategy out of various methods in science teaching with the purpose of improving the capability of scientific inquiry and the academic achievement of learners. The findings of the study are as follows: First, the POE strategy in science teaching-learning was found effective for the improvement of learners' scientific inquiry capability. Second, the POE strategy in science teaching-learning is effective for the improvement of learners' academic achievement in science. The findings mentioned above suggest that using the POE strategy in science class of elementary science education has significant effects on improvement of scientific academic achievement and scientific inquiry capability of learners compared with the general science teaching-learning strategy. It also shows to be highly recommendable for use in science class.

Learning Graphical Models for DNA Chip Data Mining

  • The past few years have seen a dramatic increase in gene expression data on the basis of DNA microarrays or DNA chips. Going beyond a generic view on the genome, microarray data are able to distinguish between gene populations in different tissues of the same organism and in different states of cells belonging to the same tissue. This affords a cell-wide view of the metabolic and regulatory processes under different conditions, building an effective basis for new diagnoses and therapies of diseases. In this talk we present machine learning techniques for effective mining of DNA microarray data. A brief introduction to the research field of machine learning from the computer science and artificial intelligence point of view is followed by a review of recently-developed learning algorithms applied to the analysis of DNA chip gene expression data. Emphasis is put on graphical models, such as Bayesian networks, latent variable models, and generative topographic mapping. Finally, we report on our own results of applying these learning methods to two important problems: the identification of cell cycle-regulated genes and the discovery of cancer classes by gene expression monitoring. The data sets are provided by the competition CAMDA-2000, the Critical Assessment of Techniques for Microarray Data Mining.

  • 최근에 와서 ADL(Advanced Distributed Learning) SCORM 2004를 준수하는 e-러닝 콘텐츠를 개발하여 제시함으로써 e-러닝 콘텐츠 간의 상호 호완성과 재사용성을 증대시키고자 하는 여러 노력이 있어 왔다. 진정한 의미의 효과적인 SCORM 2004 콘텐츠를 개발하기 위해서는 콘텐츠 개발자가 교수 설계 단계에서부터 콘텐츠 시퀸싱 전략을 수립해야 한다. 그러나 설계 단계에서 수립된 콘텐츠 시퀀싱 전략을 SCORM 시퀀싱으로 구현하는 단계에서는 SCORM 2004 S&N(Sequencing&Navigation) 이해의 난해함으로 인하여 진입장벽(barrier)이 존재하는 것이 현실이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 SCORM 2004의 활용 및 활성화를 더디게 하는 가장 큰 어려움 중의 하나였던 SCORM 시퀀싱을 효과적으로 적용한 응용 사례와 함께 SCORM 2004 콘텐츠 설계 및 구현 단계를 구체적으로 제시함으로써 사실상 e-러닝 기술 표준으로 인정받고 있는 SCORM 2004의 적용 효과성 및 유용성에 대한 질적 재고를 모색하고자 한다.

효율적인 베이지안망 학습을 위한 엔트로피 적용 (Efficient Learning of Bayesian Networks using Entropy)

  • 베이지안망은 불확실한 상황 하에서 영역지식을 표현하고 예측하기 위한 좋은 도구로 알려져 있다. 그러나 변수가 많아졌을 때 학습이 어렵고 시간의 요구량이 늘어나게 되어 효율적이고 신회도 높은 탐색에 문제가 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해서 노드의 순서를 정하여 효율적인 구조학습이 가능하도록 한다. 본 논문에서는 각 상황에 따른 확률의 엔트로피를 계산하여 다양한 변수간의 관계나 상호의존적인 상황에서도 오차를 줄이고 신뢰도를 높일 수 있는 효과적인 분류학습모델을 제시한다. 베이지안망 학습 방법 중 일반적으로 널리 알려져 있는 K2알고리즘에서 각 노드의 엔트로피 수치를 계산하여 엔트로피가 낮은 노드의 순서를 결정하여 결과적으로 빠른 시간 안에 최적화된 베이지안망의 모델을 구성하는 효율적인 학습모델을 제시한다.

3D 스토리텔링 증강현실에서 효과적인 객체 추적을 위한 학습 방법 (Learning Methods for Effective Object Tracking in 3D Storytelling Augmented Reality)

  • Recently, Depending on expectancy effect and ripple effect of augmented reality, the convergence between augmented reality and culture & arts are being actively conducted. This paper proposes a learning method for effective object tracking in 3D storytelling augmented reality in cultural properties. The proposed system is based on marker-less tracking, and there are four modules that are recognition, tracking, detecting and learning module. Recognition module is composed of SURF and LSH, and then this module generates standard object information. Tracking module tracks an object using object tracking based on reliability. This information is stored in Learning module along with learned time information. Detecting module finds out the object based on having the best possible knowledge available among the learned objects information, when the system fails to track. Also, it proposes a method for robustly implementing a 3D storytelling augmented reality in cultural properties in the future.

One Instructor에 의해 진행된 Modified Problem-Based Learning 교육기법 평가 (Evaluation of Modified Problem-Based Learning Facilitated by One Instructor)

  • Background: Problem-based learning (PBL) has introduced as an important part of pharmacy education in Korea as it is effective method to help students gain and apply knowledge with development of problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills. In order to provide the effective PBL, a number of trained facilitators and suitable PBL rooms are required. However, these become a barrier in Korea as most pharmacy schools have one or two faculty members who majored in clinical pharmacy. Objective: This study was performed to implement and evaluate a modified PBL in gastrointestinal (GI) pharmacotherapy class facilitated by one instructor. Methods: A general information of traditional PBL for 6 hours through 3 days is introduced before initiating GI pharmacotherapy class. After 3 hour-GI pharmacotherapy classes for 6 weeks, modified PBL was implemented with one instructor to facilitate PBL for four small groups with 19 pharmacy students simultaneously. Modified PBL was incorporated with weekly mini-case discussion and presentation. Results: Students completed 15-question survey to evaluate modified PBL course, student performance, group performance, and facilitator performance. Eighty-four percent of students answered modified PBL was helpful to understand what they have learned. Mean score in group performance was higher than that of individual performance during modified PBL course. Overall, students reported modified PBL was useful in knowledge building. Conclusion: Modified PBL model without individual group facilitators in one classroom helped students to achieve self-directed, independent learning skills in an interactive and engaging environment.

공과대학생의 수학 기초능력에 대한 실태 조사 및 개선 방안에 관한 연구 (Study on Survey and Improvement Approaches on Basic Mathematics Ability of Engineering College Students)

  • Today, universities in Korea give a great effort to complement basic college scholastic ability of freshman. Maybe it could be unnecessary effort from university. However, we cannot just leave students who have poor academic performance about 10 to 30% in a university. Universities have to prepare to solve this problem. Thus government and universities investigate a lot of efforts but there is no guarantee. As a result, e-learning could be the best solution to complement poor academic performance of freshman and it also could be the best way to reduce financial burden of university. So, many universities introduce e-learning system and they also support professors to make e-learning content. We need to promote content usage and to improve overall operations. In this paper, we discuss poor academic performance problems under the current middle and high school education systems and review approaches to solve these problems. From this analysis, we propose the design of an effective e-learning system and a method of operation to complement students who achieve poor academic performance.
