In order to provide effective studies in accordance with the shifts in learning paradigms, an LD Publication engine, which is the former engine from the Learning Design (LD) based learning management system, was designed and implemented. The LD Publication engine analyzes the learning contents packages that have been prepared based on the LD and analyzes the constructions and meanings of the information files that describe learning activities in order to model them. The modeled data are fragmentized into effective and accessible forms from in the learning management systems and are then put into the database. LD based learning management systems provide learning effects and learner convenience designed to provide learners with a high performance learning platform. In addition, they will activate the development of content through the reproduction, reuse and sharing of the learning content, which will contribute to the expansion of infrastructures. These systems are also designed to enable linkages among learners' competences, preferences and portfolio, and thus the systems can be easily expanded.

This study is intended to implement an e-Learning system assisted class for the dress unit in the subject of technology & home economics in the middle school. This class is aimed at making teaching-learning in the dress unit effective, triggering students' interest in it, enhancing their understanding and offering basic materials for the e-Learning development about clothing instruction in the subject of technology & home economics. To make the concrete situational learning effective and provide realistic learning environments, learning contents were implemented so that the learners themselves could manipulate the contents by clicking. How to wear clothing according to learners' individuality was presented in order to trigger the learners' attention and motivation using the latest clothing pictures from the Internet shopping mall, and the dress fashion pictures of their peers. The result of this study can be summed up as follows. First, the implementation of learning materials with which simulation manipulation and visualization were possible could make the students reach the learning goals easily. Second, teaching-learning activity could be made more effective using audios, images and moving pictures rather than written texts. Third, learning the dress unit, which is especially related with a new fashion, made the most of the advantage of e-Learning by providing realistic and lively learning materials in a timely manner. And it triggered learners' motivation by providing pictures or moving pictures related with their real life. Based on these research results, this study suggests further research to develop e-Learning contents using various multimedia authoring tools as well as the ones applied to this study in learning the dress unit. It also suggests that the database of teaching-learning materials be constructed to securely prepare abundant instruction materials.

The purpose of this study is to enhance the achievement in mathematics by developing compensatory learning materials and applying those to learning. The conclusions of this study are as follows. 1. Solving the learning tasks by cooperative learning guided instruction to learning by students from teaching by teacher, and it made learning effective and students cooperative in personal-relation 2. Learning materials for compensating learning deficit made students motivated and interested in mathematics, and active in learning. 3. By applying the learning materials for compensating prerequisite learning deficit, students could grasp learning contents and learning tasks, and their achievement could be enhanced. On the basis of problems which appeared in the progress of this study, the suggestions are as follows. 1, The necessity of mathematics in agricultural high schools should be recognized by students and various learning materials should be developed. 2. In cooperative learning, the roles of team-chiefs have a great influence on learning mood and problem-solving processes, they, therefore, must be directed beforehand so that they play the roles of leaders.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of learning community on communication skills and self-directed learning(SDL) ability. Data were collected from 147 members at N university, they participated in learning community activities for 8 weeks. To verify program's effect, pre and post tests of communication skills and SDL ability were examined. The result were as follows. Learning community activities were positive influenced on the improvement of communication skills and SDL ability. Especially, it was effective on the improvement of interpretation ability that includes diverse information collection or listen to other's opinion. And it was effective on the improvement of learning plan ability. Learning plan includes that learning needs diagnosis, goal setting and grasp learning resources. We were suggested that student customized learning community development and activation for sustainable core competency improvement.

This study is to find out that the effect of class applied Jigsaw cooperative learning to self-directed learning skills and task commitment. This study has been aimed at 2 class 66 students pre-service teachers who take "Science and study of teaching materials I" enrolled in B University of Education located in B city. This study targets to 2009 revision of elementary school science curriculum of changes in earth's surface(3-1), the volcano and earthquakes (4-1), the solar system and the stars (5-1), the motion of the Earth and the Moon (6-1) sections. Clarify the subject of study for implementing a research topics are as follows. First, What is the effect of class applied Jigsaw cooperative learning to self-directed learning skills? Second, what is the effect of class applied Jigsaw cooperative learning to task commitment? Third, what is awareness of class applied Jigsaw cooperative learning? Results of the study were as follows: First, class applied Jigsaw cooperative learning was effective in improving self-directed learning skills. Second, class applied Jigsaw cooperative learning was effective in improving task commitment. Third, in the course of discussion, students got consideration for others with leadership in their discussion was good in the class applied Jigsaw cooperative learning discussion. There was a response that they would like to do the class continually.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of simulation practice education applying problem-based learning on problem-solving ability, critical thinking disposition, and learning satisfaction of nursing students. 63 nursing students taking the practice subject for integrated simulation at U University in K region were asked to complete a self-administered questionnaire to collect data before and after the simulation practice. The simulation practice education applying problem-based learning was effective in improving problem-solving ability and learning satisfaction significantly and positive correlation was found among problem-solving ability, critical thinking disposition, and learning satisfaction; that is, the better problem-solving ability, the higher level of critical thinking disposition and learning satisfaction. While the results of this study conducted in nursing students at a single university cannot be generalized, it was confirmed that simulation practice education applying problem-based learning was an effective teaching method in improving problem-solving ability and learning satisfaction of nursing students. It is therefore necessary to give simulation practice education applying problem-based learning on a systematic and continuous basis with the objective of improving problem-solving ability and learning satisfaction and promoting critical thinking disposition.

The teaching-learning method utilizing Web makes it possible for the students take the initiative in any field and offers the teaching strategy, methodology and teaching-learning materials suitable for students' ability and standard. The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of WBI in mathematics class for the effective teaching and learning focusing on the unit 'Function' in the 1st grade of middle school and verify its effectiveness by developing the WBI programs which can progress learning achievement and applying them to math class. Two hypotheses were established for this study. Hypothesis 1 : There will be meaningful difference between the group that studies under WBI and the one that doesn't, Hypothesis 2 : There will be meaningful difference in the attitude and interest toward learning between the group that studies under WBI and the one that doesn't. In order to find out the result, I have made a comparative analysis through t-verification on the object of two classes of the 1st grade in P middle school that I have been working for. The result shows that the class utilizing WBI is more effective than the traditional lecture-oriented class since there is a meaningful difference between the control group and experimental one and also that the class based on WEB has a great influence on students' interest and positive attitude toward math class.

The purpose of this research is to promote the academic achievement motivation and improve problem solving ability in Mathematics. In addition I hope to explore a new teaching method and facilitate students interest in mathmatics. If the teachers utilize an Internet Web Page and exchang information, the interaction activities will allow them to collect and analyse a variety of data. As this teaching method assists students motivation to get the effects of self-regulated learning strategies of students using the internet and their academic achievements and learning attitudes can be explored. The information will be gathered after the students participate in classes which were taught through the Edunet Homepage and the Department of Mathematics Homepage of KongJu National University. The Internet pages focused on the "Function" chapter of the first grade text for students attending middle school. The students were divided into two groups, experimental and comparative. Each group is composed of three levels, high, middle, and low. In the post experimental phase, two tests were administered which measured achievement ability and the learning attitude of the students. The results of the tests were then compared and analyzed. The results were as follows: First, the study demonstrated that self-regulated Learning Starategies towards Academic Achievements and Learning Attitudes were more effective than traditional teaching methods. These methods were significantly effective in the middle level and low level groups. The study demonstrated little to no improvement in the high level groups

This study has two goals. The first goal is to investigate whether worked examples are effective in the ill-defined domain with on-line learning and the second goal is to find out which components (conceptual or procedural knowledge) of worked examples are effective factor at the given learning environment. We carried out three experiments in which Korean undergraduate or graduate students were working in three or four conditions of worked examples (CWE, PWE, CPWE, or the control group). While experiment 1 conducted in on-line learning environment did not find any effect and difference among groups and also any logical reason for those results, experiment 2 conducted in completely controlled laboratory setting with less knowledgeable students showed the clear difference among groups by the order CPWE, PWE, and CWE. Experiment 3 in which highly knowledgeable and motivated students were presented the same materials in more controlled on-line learning environment indicated the difference among groups by the order CWE, CPWE, and PWE. The results were discussed within the framework of cognitive load theory.
