Mantle Field에서 Lung Block의 선량분포 고려 (Dosimetric Consideration of the Lung Block in the Mantle Field)

  • Purpose: To evaluate the dose under lung block as a function of depth and the effectiveness of a block as a function of block width. Materials and Methods : Field size of mantle field was $22.8{\times}32.4cm^2.$ Dose distribution of the mantle field was measured with two dimensional water phantom system. To analyze the effectiveness of the lung block. central axis plane, 5cm off-axis plane, and 10cm off-axis plane were studied. Results: The dose under the lung block was recorded with maximum at the depth between 5cm and 10cm. In the central axis plane, dosimetric block width was $10-15\%$ less than physical block width. In the 5cm off-axis plane, dosimetric block width was $4-9\%$ less than physical block width. In the 10cm off-axis plane, dosimetric block width was $2\%$ less than physical block width. Conclusion: Depth dependence of the dose under the lung block was founded. Also, block width dependence of the lung block was founded. To induce the accurate relation between the physical block width and the 'effective' block width, it needs more detailed understanding of the variables involved.

Effective structure of electron injection from ITO bottom cathode for inverted OLED

  • For display drivers employ typically a-Si n-channel field effect transistors, they require an inverted OLED structure with a cathode as the bottom contact. ITO is regarded as the bottom cathode and can be applied to large size AM-OLED and transparent inverted OLEDs. We report the effective structure to improve the efficiency of electron injection from ITO cathode to $Alq_3$. We report the effective structure to improve the efficiency of electron injection from ITO cathode to Alq3 and studied the current density-voltage characteristics of trilayer ($Alq_3-LiF-Al$), LiF and Mg inserted between ITO and $Alq_3$, respectively. We discovered that 1 nm Mg afforded the highest efficiency.

방사선 치료용 고에너지 전자선의 조직 내 선량분포 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on Characteristics of Dose Distribution in Tissue of High Energy Electron Beam for Radiation Therapy)

  • The purpose of this study is directly measure and evaluate about absorbed dose change according to nominal energy and electron cone or medical accelerator on isodose curve, percentage depth dose, contaminated X-ray, inhomogeneous tissue, oblique surface and irradiation on intracavitary that electron beam with high energy distributed in tissue, and it settled standard data of hish energy electron beam treatment, and offer to exactly data for new dote distribution modeling study based on experimental resuls and theory. Electron beam with hish energy of $6{\sim}20$ MeV is used that generated from medical linear accelerator (Clinac 2100C/D, Varian) for the experiment, andwater phantom and Farmer chamber md Markus chamber und for absorbe d dose measurement of electron beam, and standard absorbed dose is calculated by standard measurements of International Atomic Energy Agency(IAEA) TRS 277. Dose analyzer (700i dose distribution analyzer, Wellhofer), film (X-OmatV, Kodak), external cone, intracavitary cone, cork, animal compact bone and air were used for don distribution measurement. As the results of absorbed dose ratio increased while irradiation field was increased, it appeared maximum at some irradiation field size and decreased though irradiation field size was more increased, and it decreased greatly while energy of electron beam was increased, and scattered dose on wall of electron cone was the cause. In percentage depth dose curve of electron beam, Effective depth dose(R80) for nominal energy of 6, 9, 12, 16 and 20 MeV are 1.85, 2.93, 4.07, 5.37 and 6.53 cm respectively, which seems to be one third of electron beam energy (MeV). Contaminated X-ray was generated from interaction between electron beam with high energy and material, and it was about $0.3{\sim}2.3\%$ of maximum dose and increased with increasing energy. Change of depth dose ratio of electron beam was compared with theory by Monte Carlo simulation, and calculation and measured value by Pencil beam model reciprocally, and percentage depth dose and measured value by Pencil beam were agreed almost, however, there were a little lack on build up area and error increased in pendulum and multi treatment since there was no contaminated X-ray part. Percentage depth dose calculated by Monte Carlo simulation appeared to be less from all part except maximum dose area from the curve. The change of percentage depth dose by inhomogeneous tissue, maximum range after penetration the 1 cm bone was moved 1 cm toward to surface then polystyrene phantom. In case of 1 cm and 2 cm cork, it was moved 0.5 cm and 1 cm toward to depth, respectively. In case of air, practical range was extended toward depth without energy loss. Irradiation on intracavitary is using straight and beveled type cones of 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 $cm{\phi}$, and maximum and effective $80\%$ dose depth increases while electron beam energy and size of electron cone increase. In case of contaminated X-ray, as the energy increase, straight type cones were more highly appeared then beveled type. The output factor of intracavitary small field electron cone was $15{\sim}86\%$ of standard external electron cone($15{\times}15cm^2$) and straight type was slightly higher then beveled type.

  • 복합재료 중 가장 많이 사용되는 탄소계 나노복합재의 성능 향상에 대한 연구가 수행되었다. 나노 사이즈의 탄소나노튜브(CNT)와 마이크로 사이즈의 그레파이트(Graphite) 입자를 일정한 형태로 배열하여 나노복합재를 제작하였다. 입자를 배열하기 위하여 전기장을 활용하였다. 일정한 방향 혹은 형태로 배열된 입자는 에폭시 기지 속에서 섬유강화 복합재 처럼 일정한 방향으로 강성의 향상을 나타낸다. 복합재의 구조적 강성이나 물리적 특성은 강화 입자의 배열상태에 따라 매우 달라지게 된다. 본 연구에서는 특히 탄소나노튜브와 그레파이트 강화입자의 전기장 배열에 의해서 만들어진 나노복합재의 강성 및 방사능 차폐특성을 규명하였다. 전기장에 의한 입자의 배열로 만들어진 탄소계 복합재는 구조적 성능뿐만 아니라 물리적인 방사능 차폐에서도 훌륭한 특성을 나타내었다.

몬테카를로 코드를 활용한 표준 감마선 조사장치의 성능평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Evaluation of Standard Gamma Irradiation System Using Monte Carlo Code)

  • 본 연구는 표준 감마선 조사장치의 유효빔 크기를 실측과 시뮬레이션의 결과를 비교하여 유효빔 영역의 결정에 유용한 수단을 제공하고자 하였다. 시뮬레이션과 전리함을 이용한 실측의 결과는 공기커마율의 경우는 상대오차 4.5~7.3% 범위에 분포하였다. 유효빔 영역의 크기는 시뮬레이션의 경우 수평 방향 27cm, 수직 방향 21.6cm로 구현되었고, 필름을 이용한 실측결과는 수평 방향 26.5cm, 수직 방향 21.9cm로 유사한 결과가 도출되었다. 수평방향의 상대오차는 1.85%, 수직 방향은 1.38% 이며 유효빔 영역도 감마선장을 중심으로 유사하게 분포하였다. 감마선 조사장치에 있어서 시뮬레이션의 유효성이 충분함을 확인하였다. 특히 공기커마율보다 유효빔 크기의 상대오차가 적은 것은 빔의 크기가 표준선원의 용량보다는 기하학적 요인으로 결정되기 때문인 것으로 판단된다. 향후 시뮬레이션을 이용한 광자 에너지 분포도의 신뢰성을 높이기 위한 연구가 필요 할 것이다.

Teleloperation of Field Mobile Manipulator with Wearable Haptic-based Multi-Modal User Interface and Its Application to Explosive Ordnance Disposal

  • This paper describes a wearable multi-modal user interface design and its implementation for a teleoperated field robot system. Recently some teleoperated field robots are employed for hazard environment applications (e.g. rescue, explosive ordnance disposal, security). To complete these missions in outdoor environment, the robot system must have appropriate functions, accuracy and reliability. However, the more functions it has, the more difficulties occur in operation of the functions. To cope up with this problem, an effective user interface should be developed. Furthermore, the user interface is needed to be wearable for portability and prompt action. This research starts at the question: how to teleoperate the complicated slave robot easily. The main challenge is to make a simple and intuitive user interface with a wearable shape and size. This research provides multi-modalities such as visual, auditory and haptic sense. It enables an operator to control every functions of a field robot more intuitively. As a result, an EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) demonstration is conducted to verify the validity of the proposed wearable multi-modal user interface.

비보호좌회전에서의 간격수락 행태모형 개발 (Development of Gap Acceptance Models for Permitted Left Turn Intersections)

  • PURPOSES : Permitted left turn is a turning maneuver in which a vehicle turns left using a gap between oncoming vehicles, called gap acceptance, and it enables for more efficient traffic operation at intersections. In Korea, the permitted left turn has not been a common maneuver at signalized or un-signalized intersections. However, many experts and the Police Agency tried to apply this effective turning maneuver at intersections in Korea since 2010. Though the investigation of gap acceptance is significantly important in understanding a driver's behavior at intersections, there have not been many studies about this topic, specifically a study to develop probability models of gap acceptance behavior. METHODS : In this study, the probability model of gap acceptance behavior for a permitted left turn was developed based on observational field studies. To develop the model, seven variables were analyzed including gap, waiting time, traffic volume, conflict-flow vehicle type, left-turning vehicle type, the number of lane, and time. RESULTS : In the final model, gap and left-turning vehicle type were found to be significant influencing factors. CONCLUSIONS : Through this model development, it was concluded that as the gap size increased, the probability of gap acceptance was higher. Moreover, when a left-turning vehicle was a passenger car, the probability of gap acceptance was higher than compared to large size buses or freight cars.

선덕 대왕 신종 내부 음장 및 울림통이 신종의 소리에 미치는 영향과 새로운 울림통 크기의 제안 (The effect of internal sound field and resonator on radiating sound of King Song-Dok bell : proposing effective size of resonator)

  • 서기 771년(신라, 혜공왕 7년)에 주조된 성덕 대왕 신종은 지면으로부터 약 50cm 떨어지게 설치되어 있으며 지면에 울림통을 가지고 있다. 이 울림통은 일종의 공명기의 역할을 하여 종 내부와 함께 성덕 대왕 신종의 고유한 소리 특성에 영향을 줄 것이라 예측되어 왔다.[1, 2, 3]. 본 논문에서는 이를 규명하기 위한 내부 음장의 3차원 측정 실험을 소개하고 있으며 울림통이 종소리에 끼치는 영향을 단순하나 물리적 현상을 대표하는 모델을 이용하여 설명하고 있다. 이러한 해석 방법을 기초로 하여 새로운 울림통의 크기를 제안하고 있다.

운문산반딧불이(Luciola unmunsana) 유충의 먹이선호도 연구 (Study on the Feeding Preferences of Luciola unmunsana Larvae)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the habitat of Luciola unmunsana to understand the status of land snails, which are the larvae prey, and to evaluate the effects of larval feeding preferences and prey size for the restoration of the L. unmunsana habitat as a basis for future restoration projects. The research methods included field surveys of the habitat and laboratory experiments on feeding preferences using three types of land snails (Allopeas clavulinum kyotoense, Euphaedusa fusaniana, Pupinella rufa) observed in the habitat. Field surveys of 13 L. unmunsana habitat sites revealed a total of 24 land snail species. The experimental results regarding the larvae prey were analyzed for statistical significance of feeding preferences using Chi-square tests and independent sample t-tests. Consequently, larvae showed the highest preference for A. c. kyotoense, with statistically significant differences in feeding preferences (p<0.05). Also, statistically significant differences were observed in the size between the land snails that were eaten as prey and those that were not eaten. This research can deepen the understanding of the feeding preferences of L. unmunsana larvae and provide practical guidelines for the effective conservation and restoration strategies of the firefly habitat.

초전도 자속고정 특성 향상을 위한 $ZrO_2$ 나노점의 형성 연구 (Formation of $ZrO_2$ nanodots for the enhanced flux pinning properties in high $T_c$ superconducting films)

  • To achieve high transport current without degradation under magnetic field, it is essential to artificially generate the pinning sites at which moving magnetic flux can be pinned. In this work, $ZrO_2$ nanodots were formed on the substrate surface using electro-spray deposition method. On top of the nanodots, the extended and effective pinning centers can be created. The positively charged Zr precursor solution was sprayed out from the needle using the corona discharge phenomena. Then, the sprayed precursor was deposited onto the negatively charged substrate surface followed by the heat treatment under the controlled atmosphere. Using the electrostatic force among the charged particles of precursor, evenly distributed and nano-sized dots were formed on the substrate surface. The size and density of the nanodots were studied by Atomic Force Microscopy. Also discussed are the effect of the deposition time and solution concentration on the size and density of the nanodot and processing variables in electro-spray method for the effective flux pinning centers in the superconducting films.
