가솔린자동차의 유효방전에너지와 배기가스와의 상관관계 연구 (A Study on Correlation of Effective Discharge Energy and Exhaust Emission of Gasoline Vehicle)

  • The experiment was done on traveling at the speed of 20km/h, 60km/h and 100km/h using the performance testing mode for chassis dynamometer. The experimental method were employed to measure the waveform of secondary ignition coil and exhaust emission. In this experiment, the correlation between the secondary waveform coming from ignition coil and exhaust emission were measured in decrepit vehicle. The secondary waveform characterized by the value of effective discharge energy. The following results are obtained by analyzing the data relativity between the effective discharge energy and exhaust emission. The variation rate of effective discharge energy was largest 60km/h, 20km/h, 100km/h velocity in the ordered named. As the vehicle velocity increases, the average variation rate of CO and $NO_X$ decreases and that of HC and $CO_2$ decrease. The value of effective discharge energy, CO, $NO_X$ and fuel consumption is measured badly in case of car with failures in MAP, spark plug and good in case of car with before and after maintenance regardless of vehicle velocities. The value of effective discharge energy is to be nearly parabolic shape as vehicle velocity increases. As the value of effective discharge energy increases, the value of $NO_X$, HC and $CO_2$ decrease, the value of CO increase. The most sensible factors of exhaust emission were CO, $NO_X$, and the small variation factors were HC, $CO_2$.

수소기관의 이상점화에 의한 역화발생 (Backfire Occurrence by Abnormal Electric Discharge in Hydrogen Fueled Engine)

  • Because of low flame ion density in hydrogen-air mixture, many residual electric energy could be existed in the ignition system of hydrogen engine, If these residual energy discharged abnormally during intake stroke, it may be the cause of backfire occurrence which is serious problem in development of hydrogen fueled engine but unsolved in spite of many concerned research on it. In this study, the possibility of backfire occurrence by abnormal electric discharge and countermeasure of that were investigated by using the experimental single cylinder hydrogen fueled engine with two types of ignition system. The results show that abnormal electric discharge appeared in low load with low ion density and then results in back fire occurrence, It is also seen that countermeasure method installing larger earth resistance in high tension code is effective to control abnormal electric discharge.

오존발생특성 향상을 위한 강유전성 알루미나 무성방전관의 개발 (Development of Silent Discharge Chamber with Al2O3 Dielectric Pellet to Improve Ozone Generation Characteristics)

  • 최근 탈취, 탈색, 정수처리 및 배연가스의 정화에 많이 이용되고 있는 오존의 효과적인 발생에 많은 관심이 모아지고 있다. 전기 방전에 의한 오존 발생 방법 중 유전체 배리어 방전이 보다 낮은 전력을 소모하며, 또한 저전압 동작이 가능하여 가장 효과적인 것으로 생각되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 오존발생농도 및 에너지효율을 개선하기 위하여 알루미나 유전체 및 알루미나 유전체와 알루미나 비드를 충진한 무성방전관을 제작하여 무성방전특성을 연구하였다. 또한 오존발생특성을 무성방전특성과 연관하여 논하였으며, 특히 방전시 유전체에 축적되는 벽전하 및 소비전력특성의 관점에서 논하였다. 결과, 비드를 가진 방전관의 경우 축적되는 벽전하량은 비드가 없는 방전관에 비하여 약 2.5배 정도였으며, 발생되는 오존농도 및 에너지 수율 또한 개선되었다.

이종방전 중첩에 의한 방전 플라스마반응기의 효율개선의 시도 - 연면.직류코로나 방전 중첩형 반응기의 특성 - (A Trial for Improvement of Energy Efficiency of Plasma Reactor by Superposing Two Heterogeneous Discharges - Characteristics of Surface and Corona Discharge Combined Plasma Reactor -)

  • In order to cope with environmental problems caused by harmful gases emitted from various industrial sources, a new technology which employs discharge plasma formed in ordinary atmospheric pressure has been intensively investigated in many industrialized nations. Although a plenty of useful outcomes and suggestions have been made public by scientists in this field, few commercial products which effectively decompose pollutant gases have appeared as yet. This is partly because that the energy efficiency of a most effective plasma reactor has not reached a satisfactory level in comparison with those of devices using conventional technologies. In an attempt to solve the problem mentioned above, we noticed to combine heterogeneous electrical discharges. This concepts is based on that each plasma reactor has its specific spatial region in which chemical reaction are active and by electrically affected with another reactor of different type, the activated region would increase - which may lead to cutting down the energy consumption. To prove this concept experimentally, two different discharge equipments, a plane ceramic-based surface discharge electrode and a corona electrode with tungsten needle may, are selected and combined to fabricate a hybrid plasma reactor. The results are summarized as follows; (1) Ozone concentration generated in the plasma region drastically increases when the positive corona discharge is added to the surface discharge. The rate of increase of ozone depends on the frequency of the surface discharge. The negative corona, however, does not contribute to the improvement of the ozone generation. (2) NO(nitrogen monoxide) decomposition rate also improves by simultaneously applying the surface and the positive corona discharges. The effect of the corona superposition is more evident when the level of the surface discharge is moderate. (3) By adjusting the corona level, the net energy efficiency during NO decomposition improves in comparison with the simple surface discharge reactor.

  • 발전소 배수로에서 방류되는 냉각수에 의하여 발생하는 거품은 시각적인 공해를 유발하여 인근 주민들의 민원 소지가 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 배수로에서 발생하는 거품발생량을 저감하기 위한 효과적인 방안을 제안하기 위하여 테트라포드(TTP)를 배수로 경사면에 배치하여 수리모형실험을 실시하였다. 수리모형실험의 주요 결과를 실제 발전소 배수로 현장에 적용하여 정성적인 거품발생량 저감 효과가 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Application of the plasma is already highlighted as a new technology in the last few years. In these days, there are lots of attempt in various application with plasma in that it is known as an effective treatment to animal, plants, material and so on. Plasma in liquid, one of new plasma applications, has advantages in ability to treat bio-cell or solutions. For example, electro-surgery, water purification, radical generation and so on. Especially, plasma discharge in solutions is very useful technique and difficult to generate due to electrolysis, vaporization and something else. In this study, we have performed plasma discharge and checked sustainability of plasma in solution(saline 0.9%). And we have measured basic characteristics of plasma in liquid. Such as electrical energy and plasma density are calculated from discharging current and voltage. Also, its thermal energy is measured with IR camera.

  • To address complex solutions to tack1e the cost rise with the increasing of the prices of crude oil, and to lower warming gas discharge in agricultural sector in line with the framework Convention on Climate Change, we need to net only develop the methods of simply reducing energy use ratio, but also effectively energize resources discharged in the course of agricultural production aimed at enabling repealed farming, and develop systems to reinvest such energy into agricultural production and apply them to actual farming. To that end, specifically, we need to reduce the energy cost in agricultural production, and produce and harness bio gas that makes it possible to stabilize the continued supply of energy. Thus, in this research, we seek to discuss energy use volume and warming gas discharge, and the characteristics of bio gas and its use methods alike, in agricultural sector, and thus present methods for environment-friendly and continual development in agriculture.

Effects of Light, Desiccation and Salinity for the Spore Discharge of Gracilaria verrucosa (Rhodophyta) in Korea

  • The effects of light, desiccation and salinity on the discharge of spores in Korean agarophyte, Gracilaria verrucosa were studied. Among the examined factors, light after darkness was the most effective for spore discharge. The maximum release of tetraspores was induced at 24 h after the treatment. Desiccation also seems to be conductive to the release of tetraspores. However, its effect, as in treatment of distilled water for salinity, was hardly found in induction of carpospore discharge. This may suggest that spore discharge in this alga is primarily related with photoperiodic rhythm. Also it appears that the amount of light energy received by fertile thalli also significantly affects to the spore release, considering relationship between the amount of the discharged spores and the elapsed time after treatment.

  • This paper presents soft switching zero voltage switching high frequency inverter for rare gas fluorescent lamp using dielectric-barrier discharge phenomenon. The simple high-frequency inverter can completely achieve stable zero voltage soft switching (ZVS) commutation for wide its output power regulation ranges and load variations under its constant high frequency pulse density modulation (PDM) scheme. Its transient and steady state operating principle is originally described and discussed for a constant high-frequency PDM control strategy under a stable ZVS operation commutation, together with its output effective power regulation characteristics-based on the high frequency PDM strategy. The experimental operating performances of this high frequency Inverter are illustrated as compared with computer simulation results and experimental ones. Its light dimming characteristics due to power regulation scheme are evaluated and discussed on the basis of simulation and experimental results. The feasible effectiveness of this high frequency inverter appliance implemented here is proven from the practical point of view.
