  • The electric characteristics of semiconductor materials can be found by way of various methods, of which the measurement of the carrier mobility is thought to be of great importance. There exist some mobilty measurements, but the measurement based on Hall effect is the most widely uesd. In this paper is adopted the mobility measurement of semiconductor by the use of cylindrical eavity operated in the same shape as TE modes. It is hoped that the resultant values of measurement, the structure of measurement circut, cavity design and the raising of relevant problems may give much help to those who may interested in this field.

The Detergency Improvement and Fabric Damage in the Washing Treatment by Commercial Bleaching Agents (시판표백제에 의한 농축세제의 세척성 향상과 섬유 손상)

  • In order to investigate the detergency effect of stained cotton and PET fabric, respectively, these fabrics stained with solid soils such as carbon black, liquid paraffin, and fat and examined the detergency effect in the optimum washing condition. The evaluation of washing efficiency of washed fabrics studied by using the surface reflectance measurement before and after washing treatment. The maximum detergency effect of stained cotton and PET fabric obtained in the mixed washing liquor-bleachig agen(ml)/concentrated washig agent(g/l). To obtain the excellent detergency effect, 2-step washing treatment, pre-washing by bleaching agent only and washing by concentrated detergent, is preferred. In comparing the detergency of polyester and cotton fabric, the detergency of stained polyester fabric superior than that of stained cotton fabric because of the difference of adhesive force between soil material and fabric in preparing soled stained fabric. In this study, we also studied the degree of fabric damage by the measurement of tensile strength change. From the results of the tensile strength measurement, the damage of washed fabric before and after washing treatment was nearly changed.

Measurement and Analysis for Radar Glint Effect of Maritime Target (해상표적에 대한 레이더 Glint 영향 측정 및 분석)

  • In this paper, the glint effect of maritime target to a radar system was analyzed by simulation and field test with a barge and corner reflectors. From the experiment, we proposed a glint measurement method of a real maritime target and it was indicated that the glint effect between the simulation results and real measurement is similar. Also it was founded that the glint effect is related to the relative amount of RCS(Radar Cross Section) difference among major scattering point and minor scattering points. Finally, the experiment showed the glint effects of the rotating barge with some different combinations of scattering points.

How Total Quality Management Mediates Antecedent Variables of Employee Performance?

  • The research objective was to find out how Total Quality Management (TQM) mediates antecedents of employee performance variables? The research was conducted with a quantitative approach while the research design was cross sectional. The research model was tested using the structural equation modeling approach with partial least square analysis tools to test the influence among research variables. The research sample consisted of 315 respondents who answered a questionnaire in August-September 2019 at manufacturing companies in East Java. The results showed that situational leadership did not affect employee performance, but did affect the successful implementation of TQM. The performance measurement system has no direct effect on employee performance. The performance measurement system has a direct effect on employee performance. Organizational culture has a direct effect on both employee performance and the application of TQM, so that the application of TQM can improve employee performance. TQM implementation variable acts as a mediation between situational leadership and organizational culture on employee performance. The relationship that was originally a direct influence turned into an indirect effect through TQM. The TQM variable is not proven to be an intervening variable between the performance measurement system and employee performance. There is a direct relationship between these two variables.

Effect of measurement method and cracking on chloride transport in concrete

  • This paper aims to study the effect of measurement methods and cracking on chloride transport of concrete materials. Three kinds of measurement methods were carried out, including immersion test, rapid migration test and steady-state migration test. All of these measurements of chloride transport show that chloride ion diffusion coefficient decreased with the reduction of water to cement ratio. Results of the immersion test were less than that of rapid migration test and steady-state migration test. For the specimen of lower water to cement ratio, the external electrical field has little effect on chloride binding relatively. Compared with the results obtained by these different measurement methods, the lower water to cement ratio may cause smaller differences among these different methods. The external voltage can reduce chloride binding of concrete, and the higher electrical field made a strong impact on the chloride binding. Considering the effect of high voltage on the specimen, results indicate that results based on the steady-state migration test should be more reasonable. For cracked concrete, cracking can accelerate the chloride ion diffusion.

  • This paper deals with the method of vibration measurement of a gun barrel structure using mechanical filter. When a bullet with high speed is moving within a gun barrel type structure with low bending vibration frequencies, it is difficult to measure the bending vibration signals of the structure. For example, noncontact type sensors such as displacement or velocity sensor are not appropriate for the measurement of vibrational signals because of the movement effect of the equipment frame through the moving structures or effect of the ground vibration. One of contact type sensors such as accelerometer is profitable for measurement of vibrational signals because of its wide measurement ranges. In the case of a gun barrel structure including high vibrational signals like shock waves, however, it is necessary to propose vibration measurement method filtering high frequencies. The purpose of the paper is to propose the proper vibrational measurement technique filtering high frequencies of a gun barrel type structure.

  • An especial attention for old tunnel safety is required on increasing of The various tunnel recently. Specially, the lining investigation method of the old tunnel will be able to presume condition of concrete lining indirectly. Because it is many restriction thought of environment and ground condition investigation method of tunnel lining rear. This study carried out section & convergence measurement of part which was deformed in tunnel lining. It had been observed for the change of tunnel behavior with a continuous measurement. It has been analyzed for a cause of tunnel deformation and inspected for the effect after a repair-reinforcement to tunnel compared with the effect before those by structure analysis. By establishing automatic measurement system after repair-reinforcement to tunnel, it would be accomplished to convergence measurement continually. As a result, it was observed that deflection and deformation of tunnel was convergent. but it should be followed to a continuous maintenance because of unstable ground condition, cause of inner tunnel, environment. The railroad tunnel which was executed a reinforcement of the tunnel lining must investigate the close condition of reinforcement lining and concrete lining.

  • In ultrasonic nonlinear parameter measurement using the fast Fourier transform(FFT) of tone-burst signals, the side lobe and leakage on spectrum because of finite time and non-periodicity of signals makes it difficult to measure the harmonic magnitudes accurately. The window function made it possible to resolve this problem. In this study, the effect of the Hanning and Turkey window functions on the experimental measurement of nonlinear parameters was analyzed. In addition, the effect of changes in tone burst signal number with changes in the window function on the experimental measurement was analyzed. The result for both window functions were similar and showed that they enabled reliable nonlinear parameter measurement. However, in order to restore original signal amplitude, the amplitude compensation coefficient should be considered for each window function. On a separate note, the larger number of tone bursts was advantageous for stable nonlinear parameter measurement, but this effect was more advantageous in the case of the Hanning window than the Tukey window.

  • An on-line refractrometer made of easily obtainable materials is built to determine the salinity and temperature of sea water, and its performance is examined by applying the refractometer to known salt solution. Since refractive index and temperature are measured simultaneously, it is possible to compensate the effect of temperature for accurate measurement. The outcome of salinity measurement for the different concentrations of salt solution indicates that the device is suitable for the salinity measurement by yielding stable and reproducible reading.

  • This preliminary study describes the self-mixing effect of laser diode for the measurement of tissue blood flow. A self-mixing effect of laser diode was detected by the single-mode laser diode and the moving target, and the Doppler shifted frequency was thanked linearly with the driving frequency of speaker. The measured Doppler shifted frequency was compared with the simulated data.
