A study on consumer's preference for size labeling system of womens's ready-to-wear garments

  • This study was initiated to investigate (1) whether consumers preferred a specific garment size labeling system and (2) whether consumer's demographic characteristics, clothing behavior, and body size affect their preference of size labeling systems. The survey of consumer's preferences for five size labeling systems included 443 women with 20 to 64 years of age. The result of the survey showed that the subjects' preferences of five size labeling sysems were different significantly. Subjects strongly preferred the old system rather than the revised systems. The subjects least preferred the system with pictogram(system D) and the system with description of the measuring methods of te control dimensions (system E). The subjects/ preference for various garment size labeling systems was different depending on their resident area, educational level, and body size. The garment size labeling system with more information on body measurements (system C) was preferred by the subjects living in the metro city area or subjects having difficulties on purchasing ready-to-wear garments giving reasonable fit. The simplest size labeling system (system A) was strongly preferred by the subjects of low educational level, or the subjects living in the small city.

Development of the Technology Transfer System In Reservoir operation

  • Water flow in rivers during flood season can be 10 to 100 fold higher than normal seasons (low precipitation) in Japan and predicting flood runoff is essential for operating reservoirs with discharging gates. Abundant experiences and knowledge are requisites for operators to be able to make efficient decisions at work. This research investigated a method to transfer technical knowledge by acquiring skills and knowledge from actual dam operators and by using the information to construct an educational training system. The purpose of the research was to enable the execution of a secure and rational reservoir operation during flood period. The educational training system for reservoir operation was developed with the focuses on acquiring knowledge on hydraulics and hydrology and learning about decision making related to the reservoir operation as well as the timing of control. The system is capable of conducting education that corresponds to individual levels in each location. Of the educational training methods, a lecture method that uses textbooks is effective for the understanding of basic knowledge and concepts while a training method that uses a simulation device is essential for the practice of advanced and specialized procedures in specific fields. Simulation devices are used in operational training for airplane flight and driving cars and trains. The educational system presented here was designed to provide further assistance to those who have acquired basic knowledge and concepts through textbooks and also to at low them to perform the satisfactory operation of dam equipment. Our research proposes a method which can realize a system to acquire technical skills-the skills which are the foundation of technical knowledge and operation.

가상현실을 접목한 교육용 V-Factory 시스템 개발 (Development of the Educational V-Factory system combining Virtual Reality)

  • 자동차, 반도체, 플랜트 등 다양한 산업현장에서 PLC(Programmable Logic Controller) 기반으로 생산자동화 시스템을 제어하여 제품 양산이 이루어지고 있다. 이에 따라 산업현장에서는 PLC를 능숙하게 사용할 수 있는 전문 인력과 PLC 교육을 위한 교육 플랫폼이 필요하다. 기존에 개발된 교육 플랫폼들의 경우 PLC를 기반으로 하여 다양한 액추에이터와 센서를 제어할 수 있다. 하지만 화면상 나타나는 생산자동화 시스템이 화면에 2D로만 나타나 현실성이 결여되기 때문에 학습 시 정확한 이해가 힘들다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 보완하여 가상현실에서 학습이 가능한 교육용 V-Factory 시스템을 제안한다. 개발한 V-Factory 시스템은 가상 I/O 드라이버를 도입하여 다양한 종류의 센서 및 액추에이터를 제어할 수 있고, 가상현실에서 가시화된 생산자동화 시스템이 구동되는 모습을 확인할 수 있다. 또한 HMD(Head Mounted Display)를 사용하여 현실적인 PLC 시뮬레이션이 가능하다. 개발한 V-Factory 시스템을 통해 가상현실에서 효과적인 PLC 학습이 이루어질 것으로 기대한다.

초·중학생 대상 웹기반 진단평가관리시스템 사용성 개선을 위한 휴리스틱스 개발 및 검증 (Development and validation of heuristics for usability improvements on web-based diagnostic assessment management system for primary-middle schoolers)

  • 4차 산업혁명 시대를 맞이하여 증거기반의 교육정책을 위해, 전국단위의 진단평가 데이터를 수집하기 위한 시스템을 구축 활용하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 전국 단위 초 중생이 활용하고 있는 진단평가관리시스템의 사용성 개선을 도울 수 있는 휴리스틱스 개발을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 Nielsen의 기본 휴리스틱스를 비롯하여 교육적 목적에 종속적으로 개발된 휴리스틱스에 대한 선행연구를 기반으로 유사시스템인 진단 보정학습시스템의 사용성 문제를 분석함으로써 휴리스틱스 초안을 개발하였다. 이는 델파이 방법을 통해 15명의 전문가에 의해 2회의 타당화 과정을 수행함으로써 수정 보완되었고 최종안이 도출되었다. 본 연구는 교육 맥락에서 사용성 평가도구를 제공함으로써 전국단위의 관계자(교사 등)와 학생들이 활용하는 시스템의 사용성 개선을 위한 기반을 마련하였다는데 의의가 있다.

이산 확률 기법을 이용한 온톨로지 기반 교육 시스템 (Ontology based Educational Systems using Discrete Probability Techniques)

  • 기존의 인터넷 시스템에서 사용자의 요구와 목적에 따른 프레젠테이션과 컨텐츠를 탐색하는 데 있어 풍부한 링크구조 등으로 인해 일부 심각한 유용성 문제를 발생시키고 있다. 최근 많은 시스템에서는 온톨로지 기술을 이용해서 동적 적응이 가능한 다양한 시스템들을 연구하고 있다. 이 연구에서는 이산 확률 분포 함수와 사용자 프로파일 기반의 동적 적응 모델을 적용한 온톨로지 기반 교육시스템을 설계하였다. 이 시스템은 온톨로지를 이용해서 교육 컨텐츠의 재사용성을 향상시켰고, 이산 확률 분포 함수와 동적 적응 모델을 이용해서 학습자에게 동적 컨텐츠를 제공할 수 있도록 하였다. 이 모델은 응용 영역을 동적 적응 객체의 가중치 방향성 그래프로 표현하며 사용자 행위를 이산 확률 함수를 동적으로 구축하는 접근 방식을 이용하여 모델링한다. 제안한 확률적 해석은 온톨로지 기반 환경에서 사용자의 탐색 행위를 추적하여 사용자 행위에 대한 잠재적 속성을 나타내는데 사용될 수 있다. 이러한 접근 방식은 사용자에게 가장 알맞은 프로파일을 동적으로 할당할 수 있다.

  • 현대의 복잡한 사회구조와 사회 구성원의 의식변화에 따라 사회 구성원의 직업수행방식과 능력도 바뀌어 가고 있다. 이러한 사회환경변화에 따른 사회구성원의 직업 수행능력과 적응력 제고를 위해 학습자의 자율적 학습체제의 필요성이 대두되었다. 이러한 해결점으로 모듈식 교재 개발의 체제적인 접근방법이 요구되었고, 특히 직업을 수행할 수 있는 능력을 중심으로 한 모듈식 교재체제를 개발하고 적용하는데 본 연구의 목적을 두고 있다. 본 연구는 광고디자인 직무분석을 토대로, 각 직무를 수행할 수 있는 학습 능력을 추출하고 각 능력별로 학습영역을 설정하여 각 영역별 지식, 기능, 태도를 추출하였다. 이러한 과정을 집대성한 것이 모듈식 교재체제 개발의 기초가 되는 것이다. 본 연구를 시작으로 광고디자인 분야뿐만 아닌 다른 분야에서도 적극적으로 모듈식 교육체제를 개발${\cdot}$적용하길 바란다.

The Effects of Coding Education Using the Unplugged Robot Education System on the Perceived Useful and Easy

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of an unplugged robot education system capable of computerless coding education. Specifically, this study compared this education system with PicoCricket, an educational robot that can also be used with elementary students in lower grades, using assessment tools on perceived usefulness and ease. Using random sampling and randomized assignment for more objective validation, 30 participants were assigned to the unplugged robot education system group (experimental group) and 30 participants were assigned to the PicoCricket group (control group), for a total of 60 study participants. The research procedure included verification of the equivalence of the two groups by conducting a pretest after a 2-hour basic training session on algorithms and programming. The experimental and control groups learned the same content using different educational tools in accordance with software training guidelines for a total of 12 hours. Then, the difference in perceived usefulness and ease between the two groups was examined using a post-treatment test. The study results showed that scores on both dependent variables, perceived usefulness and perceived ease, were significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group. Moreover, scores on all sub-variables of the dependent variables were significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group. These results suggest that learners using the unplugged robot education system found it more useful and easier to use than learners using the existing educational robot, PicoCricket. This study's findings are significant, as according to the technology acceptance model, the perceived usefulness and ease of an educational tool are important variables that determine the acceptance of the tool (i.e., persistence of learning).

농촌지도사들의 농업환경교육 실태와 환경교육 요구도 조사연구 (A Study on the Present Situations and Educational Needs of Agricultural Environment for Rural Changes Agents)

  • The objectives of the study were to review the agricultural environment education program for nasal change agents, to find out their recognition on agricultural environment and to get sorn implications for better educational program of rural environment. The data were gathered from 177 rural change agents in 11 agricultural technology centers in Kyongi-Do province by mailing survey with questionnaire. The major findings of the study were ; (1) Agricultural environment education for rural extention workers initiated in 1996. From 1999 diversified programs were served for them. (2) Rural change agents perceived that water contamination and degradation of life environment were the most serious problem. (3) Educational program on organic farming should be prepared for farmers and rural changes agents. (4) Concrete educational programs for adequate use of agricultural chemicals should be prepared for farmers. (5) Educational program on agricultural environment policies should be reorganized in terms of the level of target group. (6) RDA should prepare synthetical education program for the conservation of rural eco-system.

기존학교시설(旣存學校施設)의 리모델링 의사결정(意思決定) 모델에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study on a Remodelling Decision-Making Model for Existing School Facilities)

  • As the exiting school facilities become old and unfit for new curriculum, the systematical remodelling process based on its educational and physical functions is required. due to the inadequate maintenance and repairing practices, unnecessary costs are expended. Therefore, this study aims to establish a remodelling decision-making model for improving the educational environment of the existing school facilities. According to the budget system, it proposes the concept of remodelling that includes the activities of extension, reconstruction, repair and improvement. This study classifies the performance evaluation for school facilities as that of safety, durability and educational function, and articulates the assessment standards, methods and elements. In the end, it suggests a rational model for remodelling decision-making that can provide efficient and comprehensive remodelling process, economic and sustainable school development.

  • The change of digital convergence service environment converted the subject of design into user -centric one instead of developer-centric one, and changed the existing design environment focused on product development into the new user -centric design environment. Accordingly, GUI considering user's usability come to take big shares in those contents being used for multimedia equipments. However, as the present educational contents provide complex interface due to its design produced based on the existing e-learning system, they have many problems in that they don't consider user's usability. Thus this paper aimed to analyze actual examples through GUI elements of educational contents being used for multimedia equipments and attempt to suggest some directions for development. additionally, consider the various characteristics of digital convergence environment and educational contents, and try to set up strategic directions possible to utilize user'-centric interface elements more usefully and properly at the time to produce designs.
