  • The purpose of this paper is to study the perturbation analysis of the matrix equation $X=I-A^*X^{-1}A+B^*X^{-1}B$. Based on the matrix differentiation, we give a precise perturbation bound for the positive definite solution. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the shrpness of the perturbation bound.

  • We establish fixed point and multidimensional fixed point results satisfying generalized (𝜓, 𝜃, 𝜑)-contraction on partially ordered non-Archimedean fuzzy metric spaces. By using this result we obtain the solution for periodic boundary value problems and give an example to show the degree of validity of our hypothesis. Our results generalize, extend and modify several well-known results in the literature.

  • We define the pentagonal fuzzy sets and generalize the results of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division based on the Zadeh's extension principle for two pentagonal fuzzy sets. In addtion, we find the condition that the result of addition or subtraction for two pentagonal fuzzy sets becomes a triangular fuzzy number and give some example.

  • We have been designing human interactions for some learning support system or education system. The design is based on a symbol grounding model. The model is applicable to many learning domains using virtual reality technology. The design policy is simple and compact. In order to realize the policy we use/reuse some devices from the viewpoint of virtual reality. This paper introduces basic ideas and explains several example cases based on the idea.

  • In this paper, we define a totally umbilic hypersurface of first order and show that a totally umbilic hypersurface of first order in an Einstein manifold has a parallel second fundamental form. Furthermore we prove that a complete, simply connected and totally umbilic hypersurface of first order in a space of constant curvature is a Riemannian product of Einstein manifolds. Finally we show a proper example which is a totally umbilic hypersurface of first order but not a totally umbilic hypersurface.

  • In this paper, we establish some ĆIRIC type fixed point theorems in α-complete and orbitally T-complete non-Archimedean modular metric spaces. Meanwhile, we present an illustrative example to emphasis the realized improvements. These obtained results extend and improve certain well known results in the literature.

  • In this paper, we extend the G-sequence of a CW-pair to the G-sequence of a map and show the existence of a map with nonexact G-sequence. We also give an example of a finite CW-pair with nontrivial $\omega$-homology in high order.

  • This paper provides the checklist of statistical methods in the water environmental research of Han and Nakdong river basins in South Korea. There are many errors pointed out in adopting statistical methods for the researches, as an example, basic statistical assumptions are missed for t-tests or regression analyses. Some new ideas are proposed for better researches of the river basins in Korea.

  • This paper discusses the reliability equivalences of a series-parallel system. The system components are assumed to be independent and identical. The failure rates of the system components are functions of time and follow Weibull distribution. Three different methods are used to improve the given system reliability. The reliability equivalence factor is obtained using the reliability function. The fractiles of the original and improved systems are also obtained. Numerical example is presented to interpret how to utilize the obtained results.
