  • The softness of the crashpad part is one of the important factors which affect the interior perceived quality of the vehicle interior. And while improving the softness of the crashpad part, every effort to lower the production cost has been going on. The PU foaming process for the crashpad part depends on the understanding of a lot of processes, tools and material properties. Therefore, to achieve the requirement of the customer for the interior part's visual quality, the integrated design techniques are investigated to correlate the processes, tool design, material design and the computer aided analysis. In this paper, IMG (In Mold Grain) designed concept is firstly developed to integrate the skin preforming, plastic injection molding of the substrate and the foaming process in a tool within reduced processes. Through the application of this technology, softness of crashpad is improved by 40% compared to the conventional vacuum molding method, and the existing process is reduced by 50% by integrating the injection process and the manufacturing process. And by integrating the injection mold and the skin mold and removing the foaming mold, the number of molds are reduced from 3 to 1, resulting in 20% reduction in the cost of applying a medium-sized passenger car.

  • The expansion of the performing arts market to include new genres of art that combine art and cutting-edge media technology has surpassed the limitations of traditional theatre art elements such as stage, costumes, lighting, sound, and props, allowing free expression of space-time and visual art. It is growing into a wide area with unlimited potential in the performing arts sector. In response to these changes and the demands of the time, there is an increasing demand for multi-talents who can plan and produce arts and technology-converged contents that will contribute to the development of the performing arts industry. As a result, university departments related to theatre art across the country feel that it is urgent to develop curricula that will enhance students' competency by incorporating the latest media technologies such as virtual reality, holography, and interactive motion sensors into the existing performance art visualization process. In this study, the author will examine the process of developing courses in technology-incorporated theatre art (design) through case studies of media technology-converged performances from the past 10 years. Based on the traditional concept of theatre art, the attempt to fuse stage art with media technology will be a cornerstone of attempts to foster a group of talented artists who transcend the limits of creative visual expression and creative value.

  • Emotional labor is now emphasized as a very important concept not only for private companies but also for public servants who perform public affairs in public institutions, but relatively theoretical research is lacking. The purpose of this study is to examine the negative effects of the surface acting on emotional labor and to examine the moderating effect of social support to reduce it. As for the social support, we distinguished between POS support and supervisor support. Furthermore, we found that any support among POS and supervisor support has a large effect on the relationship between surface acting and emotional exhaustion. In order to verify this research model and hypothesis, we conducted 250 employees who perform civil affairs in public institutions. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, it was found that surface acting had a very significant effect on emotional exhaustion. The increase in emotional exhaustion due to the incongruity between inner emotions and display emotions appeared to be the same as the results of research on existing private companies. Second, both POS and supervisor support significantly reduce the relationship between surface acting and emotional exhaustion. Third, the moderating effect of POS and supervisor support showed that the control effect of superiors' support was stronger, so that the surface act reduced the influence of emotional exhaustion more strongly. The results of this study refer to the importance of emotional labor education for civil servants performing civil affairs. In addition, it suggests that various programs should be provided to relieve emotional exhaustion and stress of civil service officials. In addition, it suggests a more aggressive organizational support design for high-level POS.

  • Background: The creation of the National Institute of Ecology began as a national alternative project to preserve mudflats instead of constructing the industrial complexes by reclamation, and achieve regional development. On the other hand, at the national level, the research institute for ecology was needed to cope with the worsening conditions for maintaining biodiversity due to accelerated climate change such as global warming and increased demand for development. In order to meet these needs, the National Institute of Ecology has the following objectives: (1) carries out studies for ecosystem change due to climate change and biodiversity conservation, (2) performs ecological education to the public through exhibition of various ecosystem models, and (3) promotes regional development through the ecological industry. Furthermore, to achieve these objectives, the National Institute of Ecology thoroughly followed the basic principles of ecology, especially restoration ecology, in the process of its construction. We introduce the principles and cases of ecological restoration applied in the process. Results: We minimized the impact on the ecosystem in order to harmonize with the surrounding environment in all the processes of construction. We pursued passive restoration following the principle of ecological restoration as a process of assisting the recovery of an ecosystem degraded for all the space except in land where artificial facilities were introduced. Reference information was applied thoroughly in the process of active restoration to create biome around the world, Korean peninsula forests, and wetland ecosystems. In order to realize true restoration, we pursued the ecological restoration in a landscape level as the follows. We moved the local road 6 and high-voltage power lines to underground to ensure ecological connectivity within the National Institute of Ecology campus. To enhance ecological diversity, we introduced perch poles and islands as well as floating leaved, emerged, wetland, and riparian plants in wetlands and mantle communities around the forests of the Korean Peninsula in the terrestrial ecosystem. Furthermore, in order to make the public aware of the importance of the intact nature, the low-lying landscape elements, which have disappeared due to excessive land use in most areas of Korea, was created by imitating demilitarized zone (DMZ) landscape that has these landscape elements. Conclusions: The National Institute of Ecology was created in an eco-friendly way by thoroughly reflecting the principles of ecology to suit its status and thus the impact on the existing ecosystem was minimized. This concept was also designed to be reflected in the process of operation. The results have become real, and a result of analysis on carbon budget analysis is approaching the carbon neutrality.

  • In order to establish a strategy for revitalizing wood culture, a survey was conducted on the level of public awareness of wood culture and the experience of wood cultural resources by type. According to the survey, 31.4% of respondents had the images of cultural heritage such as palaces, temples, Hanoks, and cultural assets for wood cultural resources. The main reasons for having no image of wood cultural resources were the ambiguous concept and lack of interest in wood cultural resources. The importance of wood cultural resources classified into seven categories was in the order of cultural heritage, architecture of wood, cultural facilities, cultural festivals, wood products, cultural education, cultural contents. In the survey on the necessity and sufficiency of information on wood cultural resources, 46.7% of respondents needed more information to experience of wood cultural resources, while 64.8% of them had lacked information about wood cultural resources. More than half of the respondents wanted to experience of wood culture within next year, but about 20% of respondents participated in seven kinds of wood cultural resources, except wood products used in daily life. Based on these results, a systematic strategy should be developed to expand the opportunity for the public to experience of wood cultural resources and to promote them to public.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the concepts of cultural administration and art management, their context, and elements that each concept pursues, and to establish the domains and systems of cultural administration and art management in Jeju. Seven values were selected through the consideration of commonalities and differences and previous studies, and sub-indicators of each value were determined. Factors were analyzed using the AHP method. Cultural administration is based on the areas of publicity, equity, and transparency, while art management is based on productivity, publicity, and responsiveness. Cultural administration needs to focus on a system for the preservation and utilization of local culture, co-evolution of culture, and expansion of culture and arts education. Art management needs to focus on the level of achievement of goals, the level of output versus input, and the system for preserving and utilizing local culture. In addition, it was found that there is a need to establish a system in Jeju with a common aim of the co-evolution of culture and preservation and the utilization of local culture.

  • A smart city utilizes data collected from various sensors through the internet of things (IoT) and improves city operations across the urban area. Recently substantial research is underway to examine all aspects of data that requires for the smart city operation. Atmospheric data are an essential component for successful smart city implementation, including Urban Air Mobility (UAM), infrastructure planning, safety and convenience, and traffic management. Unfortunately, the current level of conventional atmospheric data does not meet the needs of the new city concept. New and innovative approaches to developing high spatiotemporal resolution of observational and modeling data, resolving the complex urban structure, are expected to support the future needs. The geographic information system (GIS) integrates the atmospheric data with the urban structure and offers information system enhancement. In this study we proposed the necessity and applicability of the high resolution urban meteorological dataset based on heavy fog cases in the smart city region (e.g., Sejong and Pusan) in Korea.

  • This study is aimed at articulating the policy communication concept and developing the policy communication index between the Korean government and the public. Theoretically guided by dialogic communication theory, two step research was employed. In the first stage, the elements of policy communication were derived through literature review and in-depth interviews. In the second stage, online survey was conducted for the general public and reliability and validity were secured through confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model analysis. The finalized policy communication index has two dimensions of mutuality and openness. The mutuality has six sub dimensions and the openness has three sub dimensions. The level of mutuality and openness of the policy communication index differed according to the policy type. In the cultural policy, which represents the traits of distribution policy, the degree of mutuality was strong, but the degree of openness was important in communication of education policy, which represents the traits of redistribution policy. This study is meaningful as an empirical study that verifies and suggests the influence of the policy communication index in the context of the policy communication and practical applicability to strategic public relations by understanding the dimensions of policy communication.

  • This paper attempts to explore the theory of self-cultivation(修養論) for the Unity of Heaven and Man, Mind and Nature(天人心性合一) in the Doctrine of the Mean(中庸). In the unity of heaven and Man, the meaning of the way of Heaven are doctrine of the Mean, sincerity, Nature, Sage, five ways forward, mind of the way, and the meaning of the way of man are thinking to be Cheng(誠之), secularity, the way, education, three methods of excelling, the way of man. The way of Heaven(天道) is the principle of the Universe and give the original Nature to Mankind. The way of Man(人道) is what man should do to accomplish the way of Heaven, and in that process, the unity of Heaven and Man accomplished. The unity of the mand and nature explained by the concept of mind's equilibrium-harmony. When the emotion arise rightly by rectifying mind, the mind unify with the original nature. After the unity of Heaven and Man and the unity of mind and nature, the whole world can governed by nine guidelines(九經) on the base of self-cultivation. There are several methods to get the unity of Heaven and Man and the unity of mind and nature. These are represented by the preserving mind and extending knowledge. In that methods, right timing by watchful when alone, loyalty-sympathetic understanding, selecting Goodness and holding on to it firmly, and fulfilling the mind's equilibrium-harmony
