서울지역(地域) 중고등학교(中高等學校) 학교보건실태(學校保健實態) 및 양호교사 업무수행(業務遂行)에 관(關)한 요인분석(要因分析) (A Study on the status of school health and analysis of factors affecting school nurse's activity in the elementary school)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the status of school health and analyze affecting factors of school nurses' self confidence and nursing activities of the secondary school in Seoul. The data was collected from 13th of August to 30th of October. The self reported questionairs were distributed during one of the school nurses seminars held in Seoul and 93 secondary school nurses answered. Analysis of the data was done utilizing SPSS for percentage, mean, T-test ANOVA and Pearson Correlation Coefficients. The results of study are summerized as follows; 1. General Characteristics The mean age of the subjects was 33.4 and mean length of experience as a school nurse was 7.3 years. 79.5 percent of them had clinical experiences and the mean clinic experience was 2.1 years. The majority of them were graduate of the baccalaureate nursing programs and 82.8 percent of them were married. 72.0 percent of the sample had religion, and 60.2 percent of them were in the national or public schools. 90.3 percent of them had independent duty. 2. The status of school health resources In average, there were 2,445 students, 37 classes and 63 teachers per school nurse. 48.4 percent of them were aware of the school budget. The budget for school health was 585,000 won per school in average. 30.0 percent of the schools had school health organization. The schools whose health clinics were on the first floor consisted of 79.3 percent, among them 42.9 percent were on the center of the building office. 3. Activities of school health nursing The average number of students using health clinic were 430 per month. The majority of the problem was digestive problem. There were 7.5 times of mean correspondences with parents per year. The activities of the school nurses were clinic management (29.0%), health care services (23.5%) and health education (14.1%). 4. The degrees of self confidence of the school nurse and nursing activities Self confidence measured by 6 items of self-reported questionaires scored by 4 point Likert Scale revealed. The nurses' self-confidence was 2.922 in clinic management, 2.909 in health education, 2.759 in program planning and evaluation, 2.757 in health care services, 2.692 in management of school environment, and 2.250 in operation of school health organization. The nursing activities scored by 2 point. The nursing activities was 1,870 in program planning and evaluation, 1.853 in health education, 1.843 in clinic management, 1.739 in health care services, 1.696 in management of school environment and 1.265 in operating of school health organization. 5. Factors affecting self confidence and nursing activities of school nurses The general characteristics of the school nurses and the school health resources were related to self confidence and nursing activities. The most significant variable to nurses' self confidence was type of the school ownership and the presence of school health organization was the most significant factor to nursing activities.

정신과 근무 간호원의 정신질환 및 정신질환자에 대한 태도 연구 (A Study of the Attitudes of Psychiatric Registred Nurses towards Mental illness and Mental Patients)

  • The main purpose of this study was to investigate attitudes toward mental illness and the mentally ill of psychiatric nurses in Korea and to identify the relationships between the nurses' attitudes and demographic variables. Subjects in this study were 122 psychiatricnurses and 111non-psychiatric nurses in active service at 12 hospitals in Seoul. The insrtument used for measuring attitudes was a questionaire developed by Cohen and Struening (1962) referred to as the“Opinions about Mental illness(OMI) Scale”made up to 51 Likert-type items. The findings of this study indicated hatnurses showed negative attitudetoward mental illness and the mentally ill: Very high on social restrictiveness (factor D), low on Mental Health Ideology (factor C), and Interpersonal Etiology (factor E). Since the high score on Factor A, B and the low score on Factor B, C, E reflect a negative altitudes toward mental illness, this study population related extremely negative attitudes compared to any other surveys. And of the demographic variables that related to their attitudes the education degree and the kind of the hospital in active service showed very significant differences. On the basis of the investigation the findings indicated the followings; 1) Althohg attitudes toward mental illness and the mentally ill of psychiatric nurses were not significant differences from non-psychatric nurses, there was a trend that attitudes of psychaitric nurses did show more negative responses rather than those of non-psychiatric nurses. 2) Demographic variables that relate to their attitudes on the OMI scale were the education degree of the respondent and the kind of their hospital in active service. 3) About attitudes toward mental illness and the mentally ill baccalaureate nursesshowed more positive attitudes in Factor A (Authoritarianism), Factor C (Mental Health Ideology) and Factor D (Social Restrictiveness) than diploma program murses. 4) Nurses in active Service in the private hospital revealed more positive attitudes(A,B,C,D) except Factor (E) than those in the national or public hospital. 5) The ages, duration of work, wanted or unwantedG roup of psychiatric ward and satisfactory level of psychiatric nursing service were non-significant.

한국의 산업전문간호사 자격인증 및 제도운영방안 (Certification and Management of Occupational Health Nurse in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the certification system, analyze the job profile of occupational health nurses, plan the education program and suggest the political recommendations. Many materials of KAOHN (Korean Association of Occupational Health Nurses) were collected and analyzed and many times of meetings and workshops were held to coordinate the various opinions from related organizations. The results were as follows; 1. The certification of occupational health nurse will be available to the nurses who have the careers more than three years, graduate the education program for certified occupational health nurse, and pass the certified occupational health nurse examination. 2. Two types of education program will be needed, one will be the one-year program for diploma nurses and the other will be master program for baccalaureate nurses. 3. The plan was made for 2000 occupational health nurses to be certified by 2010. By 2007, annually 200 occupational health nurses will graduate from one-year program and 40 occupational health nurses will graduate from master program. After than, 260 occupational health nurses will graduate from master program and 40 or 80 occupational health nurses will graduate from one-year program. 4. To facilitate the usage and motivation of certified occupational health nurse, political recommendations were suggested; revision of the related laws and regulations, the incentives for employers, and financial supports for the certified occupational health nurse educations by the government.

간호정보학 이해를 위한 영화 'The Island' 활용 (The Use of the Movie 'The Island' for Nursing Informatics in Nursing Students)

  • 영화는 간호교육에서 효과적으로 활용되는 학습매체이다. 본 연구는 간호사의 핵심역량의 하나인 간호정보학의 개념을 이해하기 위하여 영화 'The Island'를 활용하고 그 효과를 분석한 것이다. 2012년 2학기 부산광역시 소재 I대학 간호학과에 개설된 "간호와 정보' 과목을 수강한 2학년 학생 중 본 연구의 목적과 의의를 알고 동의한 학생 68명이 연구에 참여하였다. 영화를 활용한 수업은 15주 중 첫 5주에 걸쳐 이루어졌다. 참여 학생들은 매 차시마다 자가 보고식 질문지에 응답하였고, 응답지는 내용분석을 실시하였다. 자료분석 결과, 첨단의료기술을 사용한 질병치료와 건강증진으로서의 '간호정보학의 개념', 정보학의 실제적인 간호실무로의 통합으로서의 '컴퓨터정보기술의 활용', 그리고 높은 보건의료기술뿐만 아니라 '환자안전과 보안'의 주제에 대한 학습목표를 달성하였다. 종합적으로 볼 때 영화 'The Island'는 간호정보학의 개념을 잘 이해할 수 있는 유용한 학습자료임을 알 수 있었다. 간호사를 포함한 보건의료전문가들의 정보학 역량 향상을 위해서도 본 영화가 효과적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

간호교육에서의 유전학 교육과정 현황과 요구 (The Current Status and Educational Requirements for Genetics Curriculum at Nursing Institutions)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze current educational requirements related to genetics curriculum(from June 2002 to September 2002) established at nursing institutions and to provide the basic data for the development of genetics science program at the undergraduate. Subjects of this study were comprised of twenty-three colleges of nursing in 4-year baccalaureate and thirty colleges in 3-year diploma programs. The results of this study were as follows : 1) 32 colleges offer courses related to genetics. 29 among 32 colleges have that integrated. Three schools have established completely independent courses of genetics. 21 colleges do not have any courses dealing with genetics. 2) The contents of courses related to genetics include: Congenital abnormalities, chromosomal aberrations, congenital metabolic disease, prenatal diagnosis and genetic counseling, genes and chromosomes, immune genetics, blood type and genetics, rule of genetics, variation in gene expression, the map of the human gene, gene linkage genetics, interaction of genes, single inheritance in order and genetic biochemistry. 3) For course credit, 14colleges(48.3%) offered at most 1 credit per course. The grade of student who can take the course, 51.7% were in their second year while 37.9% were in their third year. The majors of nursing faculty who taught the course were nursing(51.7%) and basic nursing science(17.2%). 4) As far as the need of opening the courses related to genetics, 36 colleges(67.0%) have made a 'need', 12 schools(22.6%) state 'dose not need'. 711e reason for need were the following development of bio engineering, increase number of patients who are related to genetics, recognition of the need in clinical nursing. 7 schools(13.2%) agreed to offer independent course in genetics but 39 schools(73.6%) are in disagreement with that. When the school offers the course with other courses, 27 schools(50.0%) are opening basic nursing science and 14 schools(26.4%) are opening nursing as an integrated courses. If the name of course was either genetic nursing(34.0%) or genetics(28.3%), the credits for the course was one or 2 credits. 33 schools(62.3%) students were in the first or second years. 41 schools(84.9%), the majors of the faculty who had taught the course were either basic nursing science(35.8%), nursing(28.3%) or basic medicine(24.5%). The contents of the course should include in that order: Chromosome aberrations, prenatal diagnosis and genetic counseling, congenital metabolic disease, congenital abnormalities, genes and chromosomes, the rules of genetics, immune genetics, interaction of genes, variation in gene expression, etc. The results and discussions of the study indicate that the entire curriculums need to be investigated with respect to contents of education, nursing curriculums and name of courses because of the increasing need of knowledge related to genetics in the clinical practice.

간호 대학생의 죽음인식과 웰다잉이 임종간호태도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Perception of Death, Well-Dying, on Terminal Care Attitude among Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구는 최근 아름다운 죽음에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있는 시점을 맞추어 간호 대학생의 죽음인식, 웰다잉과 임종간호태도를 파악하고, 임종간호태도에 미치는 영향요인을 규명하고자 시도하였다. 대상자는 S시에 소재한 대학교에 재학 중인 간호 대학생 319명을 대상으로 설문조사하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 t-test와 ANOVA, Person's correlation coefficients, multiple stepwise regression으로 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 간호 대학생의 임종간호태도 정도는 호스피스 교육경험(F=2.53, p=.012), 가까운 주변 지인의 죽음경험(F=3.37, p=.001), 주관적 건강상태(F=5.37, p=.005)에 따라서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 죽음인식은 웰다잉과(r=.23, p<.001), 웰다잉은 임종간호태도(r=.22, p<.001)와 유의한 정적 상관관계가 있었으며, 임종간호태도에 영향을 미치는 요인은 웰다잉(${\beta}=.19$), 가까운 주변 지인의 죽음경험(${\beta}=.16$)이었다. 따라서 양질의 임종간호태도를 유지하기 위하여 미래의 간호사인 간호 대학생의 죽음에 대한 긍정적인 사고와 태도가 중요함으로 웰다잉과 죽음인식을 향상시키는 다양한 중재프로그램 개발과 체계적인 교육이 필요하다.

임상간호사들의 가치관 및 가치성향에 대한 연구 (Study on values and value change in clinical nurses)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine values and value changes in clinical nurses in clinical situations. A survey was conducted of 200 nurses of one of university hospital in Seoul Korea. This study was conducted between July 1 and July 5, 1994, using the Survey of Interpersonal Values (SIV) developed by L. V. Gordon, and standardized for Korea by Kyung Hye Lee & Eung Yun Hwang. The results of the study were as follows, 1. The clinical nurses surveyed showed Independence(18.32 : 63rd percentile) as their highest value, with Support(14.8 : 62nd percentile) next and then Benevolence(16.28 53rd percentile), Leadership(9.06 : 46th percentile), Conformity(18.15 : 42nd percentile) and Recognition(18.32 : 41s1 percentile) in that order in the area of general values. Using a standardised women's value Indicator, the clinical nurses value orientation was within the 32nd∼69th percentile indicating means found among Korean women in general. 2. Looking at how the values were related to demographics, Leadership was most highly valued among the 30∼34 year olds and least valued among the 25∼29 year olds. Unmarried nurses valued Independence more than married nurses did, and junior college graduate nurses valued Conformity more than baccalaureate graduate nurses did. 3. The study showed that the values of with less than one year (16.00) clinical experience were higher than those who had over 10 years (13.60) clinical experience (p<.05). Therefore clinical experience did not positively influence value orientation for clinical nurses. 4. There was no significant differences in the value of nurses in relation to their workplace, their level of motivation, or their aptitude. The study shows that clinical nurses have similar values compared with ordinary Korean women. This means that professional nurses may not be able to satisfy client needs and also that they do not have satisfaction and a positive attitude regarding the nursing profession. Therefore it is suggested that new strategies and continuing education programs be established to help clinical nurses fomulate higher values.

목회간호사의 업무활동분석 (Analysis of Church based parish nursing activities in Teagu city)

  • The concept of parish nursing began in the late 1960s in the United States when increasing numbers of churches employed registered nurses (RNs) to provide holistic, preventive health care to the members of their congregations. Parish nursing role was developed in 1983 by Lutheran chaplain Granger Westberg, and provides care to a variety of church congregation of various denominations. The parish nurse functions as health educator, counselor, group facilitator, client advocate, and liaison to community resources. Since these activities are complementary to the population-focused practice of community health' CNSs, parish nurses either have a strong public health background or work directly with both baccalaureate-prepared public health nurses and CNSs. In a Midwest community in U.S.A., the Healthy People 2000(1991) objectives are being addressed in health ministries through a coalition between public health nurses and parish nurses. Parish nursing is in the beginning state in Korea and up untill now, there has been no research was conducted on concrete role of korean parish nurses. The main purpose of this study was to identify, classify and analyze activities of parish nurses. The other important objective of this study was to establish an effective approach and direction for parish nursing and provide a database for korean parish nursing model through analysis and' classification of the content of the nursing record which included nursing activities. This study was a descriptive survey research. The parish nurses were working in churches where the demonstration project developed on parish nursing. The study was done on all nursing records which were working in churches where the demonstration project developed on parish nursing. The study was done on all nursing records which were documented by parish nurses in three churches from March, 1995 to February, 1996. Namsan, Taegu Jeei and Nedang presbyterian churches in Taegu and Keimyung nursing college incooperated together for the parish nursing demonstration project. The data analysis procedure was as follows: First, a record analysis tool was developed and second, the data was collected, coded and analyzed, the classification for nursing activities was developed through a literature review, from which the basic analysis tool was produced and cotent validity review was also done. The classification of the activities of parish nurses showed 7 activitity categories. 7 activity categories consisted of visitation nursing, health check-ups, health education, referring, attending staff meetings, attending inservices and seminar, volunteers coordinating. The percentage of activities were as follows: Visitation nursing(A: 51.6%, B: 55%, C: 42.6%) Health check-ups(A: 13.5%, B: 12.1%, C: 22.3%) Health education(A: 13.5%, B: 13.2%, C: 18.2%) Referring(A: 1.4%, B: 4.2%, C: 2.4%) Attending staff meeting(A: 18.8%, B: 13.0%, C: 12.2%) Attending inservices and seminar(A: 1.5%, B: 2.2%, C: 2.1%) Volunteers coordinating(A: 0.3%, B: 0.4%, C: 0.0%) To establish and develope parish nursing delivery network in Korea, parish nurses role, activities and boundaries of practice should be continuously monitored and refined every 2 years. Also, It is needed to develope effective nursing recording system based on the need assessment research data of various congregation members. role, activities and boundaries of practice and arrangement of the working structure, continuing education, cooperation with community resources and structuring and organizing parish nursing delivery network. 간호대학생의 스트레스대처, 유머감각과 대학생활적응의 관계 (Correlation of Stress-coping, Humor Sense, and Adaptation to College of Baccalaureate Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 스트레스대처, 유머감각, 대학생활적응 정도와 변수간 상관관계를 확인하고자 하였다. 2012년 6월 B시 일 대학교 간호학생 338명을 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 자료를 수집한 후 SPSS/WIN 21.0 프로그램으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 대상자의 스트레스대처는 평균 43.33점, 유머감각 72.18점, 대학생활적응 68.02점으로 중간이상의 수준이었다. 대학생활적응 점수는 성별, 학년, 가족구성, 가정형편, 대학생활 만족도, 교수와의 관계, 대학성적, 이성친구 유무에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 대학생활적응은 스트레스대처, 유머감각과 유의하나 약한 상관관계에 있었다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 학생의 개별적 특성을 고려해 대학생활적응을 위한 교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용이 이루어져야 하겠다. 또한 대학생활적응의 영향요인을 규명하는 후속연구가 필요하다.

일부 간호대학생의 혈액매개질환 예방 지침에 대한 지식과 실천 정도 (Knowledge and Performance of Universal Precautions by Nursing Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify knowledge of universal precautions and its performance in practice. The research was conducted from November 2 to 30, 1998. A total 515 student nurses ; 249 from a baccalaureate nursing college and 266 from second and third year of a 3-year community nursing college were surveyed. The results are as following : 1. The average score for universal precautions knowledge was 270.41$\pm$19.43/300(range 150-300). The results showed that 99.2% of students avoid injury from used needles, 98.6% answered that they always wash their hands if they had contact with the patient's blood and they always dispose of used needles in special collectors (97.7%) for needles. But, 39.2% responsed that they dispose of used needles after recapping them. 2. The average score for universal precautions knowledge of the senior students in the 4-year college was the highest (277.65$\pm$13.99). 3. The average score for the performance of universal precautions knowledge was 53.18 $\pm$5.91(range 14-70). The items : ‘I cautiously avoid injury from the used needles’(4.92$\pm$0.33), ‘I always wash my hands if there has been contact with the patient's blood’(4.91$\pm$0.34), and ‘I always disposed of used needles in the appropriate collector’(4.89$\pm$0.42) showed the highest performance. However ‘I always dispose of used needles after recapping them’(2.19$\pm$1.39) and ‘I always use protection goggles when in danger of contamination’(2.19$\pm$1.20) showed low performance level. 4. The highest average score for universal precautions performance was shown among the second year students in 3-year nursing college (54.19$\pm$6.92) between the groups. It showed that the level of the universal precautions performance was higher for those who had education on university precautions prior to performance of the universal precautions than for those without any prior education. 5. The percentage of students who reported the experience of direct contact with patients' blood and/or body fluids was 42.30%. The experience of direct contact with blood and/or body fluids of the educational group was significantly higher than those were not educated. 6. The most frequent cause of the direct contact was ‘needle pricking and/or skin cut’(63.04%). The most frequent substance with which the students contact was ‘blood’(59.85%). The majority of the sample had answered that the mode of contamination was ‘unknown’(63.54%). The majority of the sample answered that strategies used after contamination included ‘washing with soap’(33.61%). Reviewing the chart of patients or asking other health professionals(28.85%). 7. The number of students who had the experience of a needle stick and/or skin cut was 145(28.16%). The clinical practice places where the incidents occurred were mainly in the internal medicine unit (45.07%) and the surgical unit (31.92%) followed by the intensive care unit and the emergency unit in order. The experience of a needle stick and/or skin cut happened during on intra-muscular injection 47.34% and intravenous injection 21.81%. The causes of the needle stick and/or skin cut were ‘putting the needle cap back on 77(35.81%)’. The number of students who took an appropriate post management blood test and/or vaccination was 27(18.62%). 8. The Pearson Correlation Coefficient between the knowledge of universal precautions and performance of universal precautions in practice showed a positive correlation.
