In commemoration of Vol. 30, Issue 1, our journal prepares four review articles and two original papers. The first review article provides guidelines for medical treatment for emergencies in an aircraft furing flight. This guideline addresses the resources and medical equipment available to physicians on board, common medical conditions, how to deal with them, including legal issues. The second review article covers historically meaningful animals that have contributed to aerospace research and the role of a veterinarian. The third one describes cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and vestibular physiological effects of microgravity on the human body. As we are about to enter an aging society, the fourth review article introduces guidelines for safe overseas travel for senior passengers. The role of the aviation medical examiner is to maintain aircrew's health and to help them work long and healthy. In this regard, Choi et al. analyzed the physical examination data and sick leave data of an airline. Han et al. investigated the aerospace medical examination data of the Republic of Korea and suggested a solution to some common health problems of the crew.

1999년 11월 공주대학교에서 열렸던 한국 제4기학회 제 26차 학술발표대회에 발표되었던 요약문과 논문들이 한글로 잘 쓰였는가 하는 점에 관심을 두고 훑어보았다. 원고 문장에는 일본말법 표현과 한문이나 영어 같은 외국 단어들과 외국 표현들과 너무 긴 문장들이 간간이 보인다. 또한 의미가 전달되지 않는 문장, 한자를 쓴 어려운 표현, 정확하지 않은 시제와 어법 따위들이 포함돼 있다. 좋은 한글원고를 쓰는 방법으로 교양과학책 독서와 한글 작문 연습을 제안한다. 한글작문연습에는 저자들이 시간 여유를 가지고 쓰고, 동료와 논의하고, 비판을 받아들일 마음을 연 자세들이 포함된다. 편집진들도 원고를 인쇄하기 전에 점검해야 한다.

이 연구는 국제학술지 발행의 한 모범사례로, 전공분야 학회와 관련기관이 협력하여 발행하고 있는 OSJ가 국제학술지로 발전한 요인을 분석하고, 그 분석결과를 바탕으로 국내학술지가 국제학술지로 발전하기 위한 바람직한 운영방안을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 OSJ의 게재논문, 편집진, 인용현황 등을 심층적으로 분석하고, 해외의 유사한 사례와도 비교하였다. 분석결과 관련기관과의 협력, 인용이 많이 되는 논문의 게재 및 특별호 발간 등이 학술지의 국제화를 위해 필요한 것으로 제안하였다.

Purpose - The purpose of this research is to suggest researchers to know the standards of research ethics violation and eliminate the researchers' anxiety for the possible cases in violation of research ethics through the notification on the web site with online paper submission system for over the last year. We have made an effort and achieved the most exemplary and leading position in the academic journals, however, not satisfied with this, we will endeavor to strengthen it. Research design, data and methodology - Plagiarism and overlapping publications are the most serious problems in research ethics. Therefore, it is necessary to verify the submitted articles making use of paper similarity test programs such as copy killer, KCI test, etc. Editorial board and reviewers should present clear evidences and notify contributors on research ethics violation after close review the contributors' article content. Results - This research focused on the submitted articles which were verified as research ethics violation, and categorized them into 7 cases. Conclusions - With analyzing the verified 7 cases from KODISA journals, this research will examine closely the verification system and regulations in the current academic research ethics. Afterwards, this research will seek for solution to the problems and make an effort to get improvement for them.

The purpose of this research was to discuss pending taste of the Journal of the Korean Institute of Landscape Architecture(KILA). Two subjects were discussed; one was the role of KILA as a supporter of landscape research, and the other was the role of KILA as a safeguard for its members. The results of this research were as follows. To support landscape research, several proposals were suggested. It is necessary for the development of landscape architecture for us to share some pages of our journal for essays which deal with current landscape issues, in order to introduce advanced overseas landscape trends or landscape techniques. For the field of landscape construction and landscape management, it is necessary to prepare a column of technical notes which introduce new techniques of landscape construction and management. For the field of landscape design, a larger seperate volume must be prepared with color printing. It is an efficient way to cooperate with other institutions that have the same member as KILA. To safeguard KILA members, it is important to maintain our status as a registered journal of Korea Research Foundation and to publish an international journal. For prospective young researchers, publication of an english journal is under consultation with the Japanese Institution of Landscape Architecture and the Chinese Institution of Landscape Architecture. The publication of an international land-scape journal to be recorded in the ISI journal in the near future will promote the research abilities of KILA members.

This paper examines nursing professionals' English abstract to learn their preferences towards tense and voice choices. A total of 24 abstracts, completed reviews to be published by the editorial board members of the Korea Industrial Nursing Association, were analyzed for the study. Each sentence in the four parts of the abstract (Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusion) was examined and classified into active/passive voices, and present/past/present perfect tenses. Verbs were then further identified to see which ones were commonly preferred to state the objectives of the study, methods, and to draw conclusions. Hedging expressions in Conclusion were also examined. The results of the present study revealed that Purpose was mostly (79%) stated in the past tense with slight use (17%) of the present tense in the form of 58% active and 42% passive voice whereas Methods were dominantly (96%) illustrated in the past tense with preference of mixed active and passive voice. The Results were also preferably (92%) stated in past tense and Conclusion in both present and past tense. Verbs used by these nursing professionals seemed diverse; however, hedging appeared to be narrowly limited to a few expressions including suggest and should. More diverse English hedging expressions need to be taught at least college level writing so that the EFL learners and writers can have a better understanding of presenting statements in an appropriate level of caution, confidence, or uncertainty.

Many countries has been interested in studying the East Sea to look ahead into the world oceans' future, since the East Sea has been known as a miniature ocean. In this respect, PICES decided the East Asian Seas Time-series (EAST) studies, and the East Sea as the first subject (EAST-I). Since 2006 Ministry of Land, Transport & Maritime Affairs, Korea has supported the Korean EAST-I program. Through the Korean EAST-I program, 44 research papers were published in various scientific journals. This special issue contains 6 research articles including results from the interdisciplinary observation in the summer, 2008. Those articles cover the entire East Sea from the Korea Strait to the Japan Basin, and also cover the studies of the euphotic layer to the bottom sediment. MLTM and KIMST have provided full support to EAST-I program. KHOA carried out the joint cruises in the Ulleung Basin. Those are deeply appreciated. Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to the editorial board of Ocean & Polar Research.

Purpose: We try to disclose how much the keywords of the papers from the Journal of the Korean Academy of Nursing coincide with MeSH terminologies and to understand the major subjects of the recent nursing research in Korea from keywords. Methods: Keywords of journals were extracted and compared with MeSH terms. The frequency of the appearance of each keyword was sorted by a descending order. Results: Coincidence rate of 1,235 keywords with MeSH terms was $51.6\%$. Out of them, depression, elderly, stress, self efficacy, quality of life, exercise, middle-aged women, and women appeared most frequently in descending order. Conclusion: Coincidence rate of the keywords with MeSH terms was at an acceptable level, however to improve it, the education of submitters and editorial board members are required, as well as the copy editor, to take a role in checking keywords. To infer the subjects of the research from keywords might well represent the recent topics of research work.

In Vol. 31, No. 3, our journal prepared three review articles, an original paper, and two case reports. First, as COVID-19 continues for a long time, aviation workers, including pilots, are also experiencing mental problems such as depression. Therefore, we have compiled the basic principles for improving the mental health of pilots. Next, it is difficult to properly perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when a cardiac arrest situation occurs in an aircraft. Moreover, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, CPR is more difficult because medical staff and other passengers may also be exposed to infections. Therefore, we have summarized the principles of CPR on board and ways to perform CPR while keeping the safety of medical staff and other passengers in the COVID-19 situation. The sudden change of gravity caused by space travel has various effects on the human body, and among them, the effect on the immune system is profound. Therefore, we reviewed the research methods to study the effect of gravity on the immune system and the results. In addition, we analyzed the demographic characteristics and health status of immigrant visa applicants who intended to immigrate to the United States over the past five years. Next, through two case reports, we reported cases of determining physical fitness for aviation service in patients who recovered after receiving appropriate treatment for chronic myeloid leukemia or renal cell carcinoma.

Purpose: EAJBE is actively responding to changes in academic paradigms at domestic and abroad and is carrying out measures to maximize synergy effects between academic fields with the goal of being at the world level. This study aims to present a developmental strategy for EAJBE to grow into an academic journal with international public trust and prepare for future changes. Research design, data and methodology: This paper identifies the current status from the first issue of EAJBE to the present, and analyzes the overall development strategy and direction. Results: EAJBE continues to strengthen long-term investment for internationalization and activities to attract members of excellent scholars. Specifically, first of all, EAJBE aims to operate responsible academic journals, such as guaranteeing the long term of the president of the academic society, the chairman of the editorial board, and the editor-in-chief. EAJBE also focuses on expanding investment for internationalization from a long-term perspective. Finally, EAJBE actively strives for academic exchanges between scholars abroad and at home. Conclusions: EAJBE was indexed in the KCI of the Korea Research Foundation and currently operates a rigorous academic journal to be indexed in the SCOPUS. Already, EAJBE is doing its best to become a successful model for Korean academic journals. EAJBE's path forward will be the first one that no academic society has ever reached as the world's top academic journal.
