  • This paper describes a design and implementation of the tree-based document editing system for XML application, available at the structure-oriented environment. This system converts DTD to ASTD( Syntax Tree Definition) to support syntax-directed editing for valid document, considers the extensibility to add new tools and supports multiple entry parser for real-time document validation. It is expected that this paper contributes related XML application document editing system development model.

  • In a recent year, the broadcasting system has been changed from analogue to digital all over the world, not just in Korea, and Korea aims at accomplishing 100% digital broadcasting by 2013. The HD(High Definition) Video Format, which currently plays a key role in digital broadcasting system, has been gradually extended in the field of broadcasting and movie. Additionally, many kinds of camcoders and editing systems have been rapidly converted into the digital types, and they are supporting to photograph and video editing systems with the various types of image formats such as SD(Standard Definition) format, HD format, 2K, 4K, etc. Tape Video Storage System, which has been usually used in the stage of photographing by this day, is gradually evolving into Tapeless Video Data Storage System. Thus in this study, Video Compression method of HD format photographed by Sony PMW-EX3, one of major tapeless camcoders, is studied and also the way of applying it effectively in Avid Media Composer, a non-linear editing system, is discussed.

  • Due to the development of CRISPR technology, the era of effective editing of target genes has arrived. However, the off-target problem that occurs when recognizing target DNA due to the inherent nature of CRISPR components remains the biggest task to be overcome in the future. In this review, the principle of inducing such unintended off-target editing is analyzed from the structural aspect of CRISPR, and the methodology that has been developed to reduce off-target editing until now is summarized.

  • High Efficiency Video Coding range extensions (HEVC RExt) is a kind of extension model of HEVC. HEVC RExt was specially designed for dealing the high quality images. HEVC RExt is very essential for studio editing which handle the very high quality and various type of images. There are some problems to dealing these massive data in studio editing. One of the most important procedure is re-encoding and decoding procedure during the editing. Various codecs are widely used for studio data editing. But most of the codecs have common problems to dealing the massive data in studio editing. First, the re-encoding and decoding processes are frequently occurred during the studio data editing and it brings enormous time-consuming and video quality loss. This paper, we suggest new video coding structure for the efficient studio video editing. The coding structure which is called "ultra-low delay (ULD)". It has the very simple and low-delayed referencing structure. To simplify the referencing structure, we can minimize the number of the frames which need decoding and re-encoding process. It also prevents the quality degradation caused by the frequent re-encoding. Various fast coding algorithms are also proposed for efficient editing such as tool-level optimization, multi-serve based distributed coding and SIMD (Single instruction, multiple data) based parallel processing. It can reduce the enormous computational complexity during the editing procedure. The proposed method shows 9500 times faster coding speed with negligible loss of quality. The proposed method also shows better coding gain compare to "intra only" structure. We can confirm that the proposed method can solve the existing problems of the studio video editing efficiently.

  • Advancements in gene and cell therapy have resulted in novel therapeutics for diseases previously considered incurable or challenging to treat. Among the various contributing technologies, genome editing stands out as one of the most crucial for the progress in gene and cell therapy. The discovery of CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) and the subsequent evolution of genetic engineering technology have markedly expanded the field of target-specific gene editing. Originally studied in the immune systems of bacteria and archaea, the CRISPR system has demonstrated wide applicability to effective genome editing of various biological systems including human cells. The development of CRISPR-based base editing has enabled directional cytosine-to-thymine and adenine-to-guanine substitutions of select DNA bases at the target locus. Subsequent advances in prime editing further elevated the flexibility of the edit multiple consecutive bases to desired sequences. The recent CRISPR technologies also have been actively utilized for the development of in vivo and ex vivo gene and cell therapies. We anticipate that the medical applications of CRISPR will rapidly progress to provide unprecedented possibilities to develop novel therapeutics towards various diseases.

  • Video content is divided into long-form video content and short-form video content according to the length. Long form video content is created with a length of 15 minutes or longer, and all frames of the captured video are included without editing. Short-form video content can be edited to a shorter length from 1 minute to 15 minutes, and only some frames from the frames of the captured video. Due to the recent growth of the single-person broadcasting market, the demand for short-form video content to increase viewers is increasing. Therefore, there is a need for research on content editing technology for editing and generating short-form video content. This study studies the technology to create short-form videos of main scenes by capturing images, voices, and motions. Short-form videos of key scenes use a pre-trained highlight extraction model through machine learning. An automatic video editing system and method for automatically generating a highlight video is a core technology of short-form video content. Machine learning-based automatic video editing method and system research will contribute to competitive content activities by reducing the effort and cost and time invested by single creators for video editing

  • The virus-induced genome editing (VIGE) system aims to induce targeted mutations in seeds without requiring any tissue culture. Here, we show that tobacco rattle virus (TRV) harboring guide RNA (gRNA) edits germ cells in a wild tobacco, Nicotiana attenuata, that expresses Streptococcus pyogenes Cas9 (SpCas9). We first generated N. attenuata transgenic plants expressing SpCas9 under the control of 35S promoter and infected rosette leaves with TRV carrying gRNA. Gene-edited seeds were not found in the progeny of the infected N. attenuata. Next, the N. attenuata ribosomal protein S5 A (RPS5A) promoter fused to SpCas9 was employed to induce the heritable gene editing with TRV. The RPS5A promoter-driven SpCas9 successfully produced monoallelic mutations at three target genes in N. attenuata seeds with TRV-delivered guide RNA. These monoallelic mutations were found in 2%-6% seeds among M1 progenies. This editing method provides an alternative way to increase the heritable editing efficacy of VIGE.

  • Represent of mathematical formula used within system handling document that is nonstructural in existent document editing system that is used in electron document processing that use computer is represented or processed by method that is nonstructural of image or text or etc. Such mathematical formular causes relative inconvenience to readablility and reusability of document and processing and exchange of document. Therefore, document editing system is required that can overcome such nonadvantage and apply MathML mathematical formula structure on efficiently structural document. Therefore, designed and implemented that document editing system for structural document creation of XML base that can mathematical formular editing of MathML base in this paper.

  • In this paper, we propose a pen gesture recognition system for user interface in multimedia terminal which requires fast processing time and high recognition rate. It is realtime and interaction system between graphic and text module. Text editing in recognition system is performed by pen gesture in graphic module or direct editing in text module, and has all 14 editing functions. The pen gesture recognition is performed by searching classification features that extracted from input strokes at pen gesture model. The pen gesture model has been constructed by classification features, ie, cross number, direction change, direction code number, position relation, distance ratio information about defined 15 types. The proposed recognition system has obtained 98% correct recognition rate and 30msec average processing time in a recognition experiment.
