Traumatic Aneurysm of the Pericallosal artery - A Case Report - (뇌량주위동맥에 발생한 외상성 뇌동맥류 - 증례보고 -)

  • Traumatic intracranial aneurysms are rare, compromising less than 1% of intracranial aneurysms. The case of 20-year-old man suffered from delayed frontal intracerebral hematoma, subarachnoid hemorrhage and intraventricular hemorrhage from traumatic pericallosal aneurysm 12 days after head injury is presented. Traumatic pericallosal artery aneurysm is always near the falcine edge, is unrelated to arterial branching point. Sudden movement of brain and artery causes vessel wall injury against the stationary edge of the falx. Because of high mortality rate of ruptured traumatic aneurysm, clinical suspicion must be focused on the prompt diagnostic work-up and early treatment.

졸-겔법에 의한 CdS 분산$SiO_2$ Glass 박막의 비선형광학특성

  • Recently semiconductor doped glasses have attracted attention as nonlinear optical materials because of their large third order nonlinear optical properties. The transparent and homogeneous CdS-doped SiO2 glass thin films were obtained by the dip=coating process of the sol-gel method. Thin films were consisted of glasses containing CdS microcrystallites which were formed by dissolved Cd2+ and S2- ions in a SiO2 matrix solutions. A subsequent thermal treatment of this samples led the formation of colloidal agglomerates and finally of microcrystallites. The size of CdS microcrystallites was about 4 to 15 nm after thermal treatments at various heating conditions. From the optical absorption spectra of the CdS-doped SiO2 glass films it was found that the absorption edge was blue-shifted compared with that of the bulk CdS crystal(~2, 4 eV) and that the amount of energy shift was inversely proportional to the crystal size. And the band gap energy increased with the decrease in crystallite size indicating that the quantum size effects occured.

  • Dopants implanted in silicon substrate affect the reaction between cobalt and silicon substrate. Phosphorous, unlike boron and arsenic, suppressing the reaction between cobalt and silicon induces CoSi formation during a low temperature thermal treatment instead of CoSi₂formation. The CoSi layer should move to the silicon substrate to fill the vacant volume that is generated in the silicon substrate due to the silicon out-diffusion into the cobalt/CoSi interface. The movement of CoSi at gate sidewall spacer region is suppressed by a cohesion between gate oxide and CoSi layers, resulting in a void formation at the gate sidewall spacer edge.

  • In this study, a computational analysis is conducted to investigate the effects of porous surfaces on the lift and drag forces of the flat plate. With the porous treatment, it is found that the strength of the Karman vortex as well as its influences over the trailing-edge surface are much weakened, resulting in significant reduction of the pressure fluctuations over the flat plate. The drag and lift coefficients are decreased by 85% and 18%, respectively, compared to the solid surface. The computed results also indicate that the size of the porous surface area does not have much influences but the back side of the flat plate has non-negligible effects on the interaction between the wall and the Karman vortex. As a result, the lift coefficient for the solid back side case is decreased only by 50.5% compared to the solid case and the drag coefficient is even increased by 65%.

  • Finishing process includes deburring, polishing and edge radiusing. It improves the surface profile of specimen and eliminates the alien substance on surface. Deburring is the elimination process for debris of edges. Polishing lubricates surfaces by rubbing or chemical treatment. There are two types for electron finishing. The one is using pulse beam. The other is using the convergent and scanning electron beam. Pulse type device appropriates the large area process. But it does not control the beam dosage. Scanning type device has advantages for dosage control and edge deburring. We design the convergence and scan type. It has magnetic lenses for convergence and scan device for scanning beam. Magnetic lenses consist of convergent and objective lens. The lenses are designed by the specification(beam size and working distance). In this paper, we evaluate the convergence performance by pattern process. Also, we analysis the results and important factors for process. The important factors for process are beam size, pressure, stage speed and vacuum. These results will be utilized into systematizing pattern shape and the factors.

Inkjet-printed narrow silver line on plastic substrate for high resolution flexible electronics

  • We demonstrated narrow and good aspect-ratio inkjet-printed silver lines with multi-time over-printing methods. By using this strategy, narrow silver lines were obtained with 200 nm thickness and their width and gap between printed lines of uniform narrow silver lines were 30 ${\mu}m$ and 17 ${\mu}m$, respectively. It also had good conductivity, sheet resistacne of 0.36 ${\Omega}/{\square}$ and specific resistance of $8{\mu}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$. In current stress test, narrow silver line with 30 ${\mu}m$ width was able to a current flow up to 50 mA (2.1A/$cm^2$). Using surface treatment on poly-arylate substrate with $UVO_3$, we obtained clean-edge narrow line without any edge waviness.

  • Inner crack-like pores with controlled amount of Ca impurity level in the high purity alumina single crystal sapphire had been created by micro-fabrication technique which includes ion implantation photo-lithography Ar ion milling and hot press technique. The morphological change and the healing of crack-like pore in the Ca doped high purity single crystal alumina during high temperature heat treatment in vacuum were observed using optical microscopy. The hexagonal bridging ligaments were developed and the size of hexagonal bridging ligaments had been increased with temperature and Ca amount and had grown to their corner rounded. It appeared that the hexagonal bridging ligaments would have an equilbrium size with temperature and the amount of Ca addition. Three kinds of crack-like pore healing type were observed. Edge regression and ligament growth were observed from relatively low temperature in the crack-like pore. Edge regression were found in almost all of the crack-like pore but the ligament growth were found only in the several crack-like pores accelerating heating very fast. Flow type healing was observed above $1800^{\circ}C$ and It healed the crack-like pore very slowly.

  • As 5G and AI continue to develop, there has been a significant surge in the healthcare industry. The COVID-19 pandemic has posed immense challenges to the global health system. This study proposes an FL-supported edge computing model based on federated learning (FL) for predicting clinical outcomes of COVID-19 patients during hospitalization. The model aims to address the challenges posed by the pandemic, such as the need for sophisticated predictive models, privacy concerns, and the non-IID nature of COVID-19 data. The model utilizes the FATE framework, known for its privacy-preserving technologies, to enhance predictive precision while ensuring data privacy and effectively managing data heterogeneity. The model's ability to generalize across diverse datasets and its adaptability in real-world clinical settings are highlighted by the use of SHAP values, which streamline the training process by identifying influential features, thus reducing computational overhead without compromising predictive precision. The study demonstrates that the proposed model achieves comparable precision to specific machine learning models when dataset sizes are identical and surpasses traditional models when larger training data volumes are employed. The model's performance is further improved when trained on datasets from diverse nodes, leading to superior generalization and overall performance, especially in scenarios with insufficient node features. The integration of FL with edge computing contributes significantly to the reliable prediction of COVID-19 patient outcomes with greater privacy. The research contributes to healthcare technology by providing a practical solution for early intervention and personalized treatment plans, leading to improved patient outcomes and efficient resource allocation during public health crises.

Conventional Anchorage Reinforcement vs. Orthodontic Mini-implant: Comparison of Posterior Anchorage Loss During the En Masse Retraction of the Upper Anterior Teeth

  • This study sought to compare the amounts of posterior anchorage loss during the en masse retraction of the upper anterior teeth between orthodontic mini-implant (OMI) and conventional anchorage reinforcement (CAR) such as headgear and/or transpalatal arch. The subjects were 52 adult female patients treated with sliding mechanics (MBT brackets, .022" slot, .019X.025" stainless steel wire, 3M-Unitek, Monrovia, CA, USA). They were allocated into Group 1 (N=24, Class I malocclusion (CI), upper and lower first premolar (UP1LP1) extraction, and CAR), Group 2 (N=15, Cl, UP1LP1 extraction and OMI), and Group 3 (N=13, Class II division 1 malocclusion, upper first and lower second premolar extraction, and OMI). Lateral cephalograms were taken before (T0) and after treatment (T1). A total of 11 anchorage variables were measured. Analysis of variance was used for statistical analysis. There was no significant difference in treatment duration and anchorage variables at T0 among the three groups. Groups 2 and 3 showed significantly larger retraction of the upper incisor edge (U1E-sag, 9.3mm:7.3mm, P<.05) and less posterior anchorage loss (U6M-sag, 0.7~0.9mm:2mm, P<.05; U6A-sag, 0.5mm:2mm, P<.01) than Group 1. The ratio of retraction amount of the upper incisor edge per 1 of anchorage loss in the upper molar made for the significant difference between Groups 1 and 2 (4.6mm:7.0mm, P<.05). Group 3 showed a relatively distal inclination of the upper molar (P<.05) and the intrusion of the upper incisor and first molar (U1E-ver, P<.05; U6F-ver, P<.05) compared to Groups 1 and 2. Although OMI could not shorten the treatment duration, it could provide better maximum posterior anchorage than CAR.

  • High bandwidth RF such as Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE, 3GSM, HSDPA is papular in the mobile phone market. A non-conducting metal coating process requires an e-beam deposition of metal, two steps of UV hard coating primer and top coating; however, it is inefficient. We navigate to the electron beam irradiation conditions(resin surface treatment conditions) in the PC/ABS resin injection process. By analyzing the experimental results, we find the optimum development conditions for the electro deposition pre-treatment process and mass production lines using the plasma generated electron beam source.
