  • Wandering spleen is a rare condition characterized by migration of the spleen from its normal position due to laxity or absence of the supporting splenic ligaments. Ultrasonography shows the absence of the spleen in left upper quadrant (LUQ) and the presentation in the lower abdomen of a homognous mass whose sonographic appearance is consistent with that of a spleen. Contrast-enhanced CT reveals the absence of the spleen in LUQ, a soft tissue mass resembling spleen in the lower abdomen, and the splenic pedicle of whirled appearance. We present a case of wandering spleen, which could be diagnosed with US and CT by the ectopic location of spleen and the whirling pattern of splenic pedicle.

  • Inverted maxillary incisor is that maxillary incisor rotates counterclockwise direction. The cause of this 'Inverted incisor' is the injury of the deciduous predecessor transmitted to the developing permanent tooth germ or displacement of permanent tooth crown portion from unknown origin. Dilaceration, defined as a distorted root from, may result from mechanical injury during eruption period or ectopic development of tooth germ. This article presents a case of an inverted and dilacerated maxillary right central incisor. Through orthodontic traction, the dilacerated and inverted incisor was successfully moved into the proper position.

  • Olfactory receptors (ORs) in mammals are generally considered to function as chemosensors in the olfactory organs of animals. They are membrane proteins that traverse the cytoplasmic membrane seven times and work generally by coupling to heterotrimeric G protein. The OR is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds the guanine nucleotide-binding $G{\alpha}_{olf}$ subunit and the $G{\beta}{\gamma}$ dimer to recognize a wide spectrum of organic compounds in accordance with its cognate ligand. Mammalian ORs were originally identified from the olfactory epithelium of rat. However, it has been recently reported that the expression of ORs is not limited to the olfactory organ. In recent decades, they have been found to be expressed in diverse organs or tissues and even tumors in mammals. In this review, the expression and expected function of olfactory receptors that exist throughout an organism's system are discussed.

  • 19 years old female had untreated Veau classification class II cleft palate with ectopic eruption of upper right lateral incisor and congenital missing of lower lateral incisors. Upper left lateral incisor, left first molar aid lower left first molar were root restswithperiapicalpathologiclesions. So all root rests were extracted and prosthodontic rehabilitation after orthodontic treatment was planned. She was treated by means of multibanded system with face bow. After 23 months all orthodontic correction were achieved and, as soos as debanding procedure was done she was referred to oral surgeon and prosthodontist for surgical operation and bridge construction.

  • SET (Suppressor of variegation, Enhancer of zeste, and the Trithorax) domain-containing proteins are known to have methyltransferase activity at lysine residues of histone proteins. In this study, we identified a novel SET domain-containing protein from mouse and named Kodo7. Indeed, Kodo7 has methyltransferase activity at K9 residue of the H3 protein as demonstrated by a histone methyl-transferse activity assay using GST-tagged Kodo7. Confocal microscopy showed that Kodo7 is co-localized with histones in the nucleus. Interestingly, ectopic expression of Kodo7 by transient transfection induced cell death and treatment of the transfectants with a caspase-3 inhibitor, Ac-DEVD-AFC decreased Kodo7-induced apoptosis. These results suggest that Kodo7 induces apoptotic cell death through increased methylation of histones leading to transcriptional repression.

  • Combined pregnancy occasionally occurs when intrauterine pregnancy is complicated with ectopic pregnancy. The incidence of combined pregnancy is normally rare, but the incidence increases when assisted reproductive technology was conducted for infertility treatment. We had a case of intrauterine pregnancy complicated with tubal pregnancy after IVF-ET cycle was conducted. The tubal pregnancy was removed via pelviscopy, which led to the delivery of healthy offspring at the $39^{th}$ week of pregnancy without additional complication.

  • We present a rare case of a patient with aortoiliac occlusive disease on the background of type A crossed renal ectopia, for whom open surgical intervention was required. Aortic exposure in patients with concomitant crossed renal ectopia can present technical challenges to the vascular surgeon. The knowledge of variations in the ectopic renal blood supply is of paramount importance when performing surgery to treat this condition and affects the choice of surgical exposure. We present and discuss the operative details of our patient and outline an approach to this subset of patients.

  • Endocytosis of the Notch ligand, DeltaD, by mind bomb1 is indispensable for activation of Notch in cell fate determination, proliferation, and differentiation during zebrafish neurogenesis. Loss of mind bomb1 activity as an E3 Ubiquitin ligase causes the accumulation of deltaD at the plasma membrane and results in the ectopic neurogenic phenotype by activation of Notch in early zebrafish embryogenesis. However, the regulatory mechanism of deltaD during neurogenesis is not identified yet. This study aims to analyze the pathway of mib1 and deltaD after endocytosis in vivo during zebrafish embryogenesis. Mind bomb1 and deltaD are co-localized into autophagosome and mutant form of mind bomb1 fails to cargo deltaD into autophagosomes. These findings suggest that mind bomb I mediates deltaD regulation by autophagy in an ubiquitin-dependent manner during zebrafish embryogenesis.

  • Two cases of bleeding Meckel's diverticulum diagnosed by $^{99m}$Technetium-pertechnetate scanning are presented. $^{99m}TC$-pertechnetate was used in the diagnosis of Meckel's diverticulum by Jewette et al. in 1970 for the first time. The affinity of this isotope for the parietal cell of the gastric mucosa makes it ideal for delineating ectopic gastric tissue. Its noninvasiveness can be used in early screening test for occult gastrointestinal bleeding in pediatric age group.
