The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects, characteristics by facility, oral condition, oral care behavior, correlation by factors on oral health, influencing factor on dental caries, influencing factor on periodontal disease, and influencing factor on elasticity of gingival muscle. Data were analyzed by frequency analysis, chi-square test, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 21.0 program. Results: Multivariate analysis of influencing factors on oral health revealed that the elderly people with low education level tended to have higher incidence rate of dental caries. The influencing factors on oral health were the elasticity of gingival muscle, periodontal disease, educational level, and economic level. (p<0.05). The explanation power was 26.2%. Conclusions: Oral Health Promotion should be obligatorily established as one of the medical system and medical fee system to promote oral health condition for the aged.

  • The main studying problem of this study is to develop the scale which examines awareness of singleness for Korean men and women. So, firstly, study 1 fulfilled open survey related to condition for solitary life, its strengths and weaknesses and factors disturbing it for 490 unmarried and married people (244 men and 246 women) who are living in Seoul and capital area. And then, content analysis and category analysis were analyzed for their responses. As the result, each questionnaire was divided into economic aspect, relative aspect, characteristic aspect, eco related aspect, family aspect and social system aspect. Study 2 organized questionnaires for condition for solitary life, its strengths and weaknesses based on the material obtained in study 1 and then, exploratory factor analysis was conducted for total 800 adults (400 men and 400 women) who are living in Seoul, capital area, Incheon and Chungnam. As the result, the condition for solitary life extracted 5 factors including ego-maturity factor (24 questionnaires, total explanation quantity: 61.7%), strengths of solitary life extracted 6 factors including self-growth factor(29 questionnaires, total explanation quantity: 61.4 %) and weaknesses of solitary life extracted 6 factors including solitary factor(31questionnaires, total explanation quantity: 64.75 %). For verifying the suitability of the factor structure, as the result of conducting confirmatory factor analysis for 400 people (200 men and 200 women), the suitability of awareness scale model of men and women on singleness was verified. Those results were discussed from the aspect of variables and phenomenon related to singleness and marriage of Korean society.

  • The purpose of this paper is to establish three themes of regional instruction based on new regional geography and to examine explanation of space, understanding of place and judgement of environmental values for the Jinju regional instruction. Under the premise that region is the representation of space, place, and environmental perception, we reviewed location and space, event and place, development and environmental values in Jinju area. The results of the study are as follows: Owing to locational conditions, commercial agriculture, industrial and agroindustrial park, bio industry have been developed in Jinju. There are however some tasks that have to be solved such as rural investment, industrial park relocation and economic reconstruction. The Jinju castle combat, Farmers' resistance in 1862, Human right campaign for butchers in 1923, and educational conflict all occurred in the Jinju community. These events resulted in the integration and separation of the stratified citizens. They were represented as a variety of semiotics and landscape in the place. Citizens who live in Jinju are confronted with judging the environmental values. They ask whether inviting companies to town will ensure environmentally sound and sustainable development. The regional characteristics of knowledge, culture and environment in Jinju have been reproduced through the economic activity, place understanding, place marketing, and citizens' campaign.

  • Recent raw material prices fluctuation has been unexpectedly high and that made Korean economic activities to be depressed. Because most raw material supply in Korea depends upon oversea imports, unexpected raw material price fluctuation affects Korean industrial economies through macroeconomic variables. So Korean government enforces some political measures such as demand management and the supply-security assurance as long-range policies, and reservation and general early warning system as short-range policies. In short-range policies, it is necessary to be expected short term fluctuation. Up to recently, there have been many researches and most of those researches use parametric methods or time series analyses. Because those methods and analyses often generate inadequate relations among variables, it is possible that some consistent variables are left out or the results are misunderstood. This study, therefore, is aim to mitigate those methodological problems and find the relatively appropriate model for economic explanation. So that, in this paper, by using non-parametric signal approach method mitigating some shortages of previous researches and forecasting properly short-range prices fluctuation of non-ferrous materials are presented empirically.

  • In order to make preparation of the Metallogenic Map of Korea, the writer have to collect and review the data of general geology and ore deposits of Korea which have been published up to date. The geology of Korea has been briefly simplified and grouped into the 15 formations so as to provide the base geologic map for making the Metallogenic Map of Korea. Geologic provinces of south Korea are divided into four, that is, Gyeonggi·Ryeongnam province, Ogcheon geosynclinal province, Gyeongsang basin province and Tertiary province. In the view of tectonics and related granites, the major orogenies in south Korea are as follows; Ryeongnam orogeny, Taebaeg disturbance, post-Sangweon disturbance, post-Joseon disturbance, Bulgugsa disturbance and Yeonil disturbance. Metallogenic epochs might coincide with the period of syntectonic or subsequent igneous rock intrusions accompanied with the above listed orogenies and disturbances. Thus, metallogenic epochs that are certain in Korea so far are; Precambrian periods, Paleozoic periods, Jurassic to early Cretaceous periods, late Cretaceous to early Tertiary periods, Quaternary periods and age-unknown periods. The Metallogenic Map of Korea shows 444 ore deposits and/or mines by symbols on a background adopted from the existing geologic and tectonic map. The 444 metallic and non-metallic deposits are categorized by the commodities they contain, size, geologic environment, mineralized age and mineralogic nature.

  • This paper addresses the question of whether a monopolistic banking system can lead to a higher steady state level of capital stock. Information externality has enhanced as the advance of the financial system such as the establishment of the credit bureau system, networking, etc. Hence this paper aims to analyze the effects of both information externality and economic development on the determination of the optimal banking market structure. This paper shows that the presence of information externality together with asymmetric information would explain how a monopoly bank leads to a higher steady state level of capital stock. It also shows that not only under-developed countries but industrialized countries may also benefit from a concentrated banking system. This analysis provides an alternative explanation of the recent deregulation and resulting trends in mergers and acquisitions. This also provides a theoretical foundation to support governments' policy changes toward promoting merger and acquisition activities.

  • This study attempted to test the causal effect of structural characteristics of metropolitan neighborhoods on crime, based on the ecological model of crime explanation. To this end, a Negative Binomial Regression analysis was performed for Seoul's 424 Dong Districts. Results showed that the incidence of homicide increases as much as the scales of economic disadvantage, family disruption, and commercial land use go worse. It suggested that family integrity is one of the most strong and consistent factors that could deter crime in neighborhood's contexts. Economic disadvantage and commercial land use were also critical targets as crime-generating factors. Reasoning with the results of past studies implied that neighborhood-specific approaches need to be developed for effective crime prevention. Although a few limitations could raise a caveat against such interpretation of the results, the value of this research would not be simply denied as the first attempt to utilize all Dong districts of Seoul. It is expected that this study contributes to activating Dong level research and developing effective crime control policy.
